HP Pavilion G7 product # ABA: G7 pavilion laptop trying to install windows xp

My hard drive has failed. I have no restore or backup for Windows 7 disks. I have discs for windows XP and XP service pack 2. I would get the computer woring with XP as my op system. I put a drive reformatted hard work in and it passes the diagnostics test. When I try to install XP, I get Bootmgr missing. Is there a way to get XP installed on this PC? I have a new computer running windows 7. I would get this old G7 race as spare no cost.

Hello:

First of all, it must integrate the SATA AHCI drivers I compressed upwards and attached below.

Please see the link below, the AMD article and read the downloadable document to find out how to integrate the drivers.

http://h30434.www3.HP.com/T5/notebook-operating-system-and-recovery/SATA-drivers-for-XP-solution-on-0x0000007B-BSOD/m-p/114120#M17758

Then most, if not all of this model XP drivers should work on yours, except the card reader.

Do not use the BIOS or firmware files.

http://h20564.www2.HP.com/hpsc/SWD/public/readIndex?sp4ts.Oid=5098226&swLangOid=8&swEnvOid=1093

Use this card reader driver...

This package contains the driver that allows the Realtek card reader in laptop models running a supported operating system. The card reader allows users to read or write to removable storage cards supported, which are typically used in digital cameras, digital music players and cell phones.

  • HP Pavilion ze4900: blue screen of death after trying to install Windows on Pavilion ze4900?

After the death of my hard drive in my Pavilion ze4900, I replaced it with another hard drive for laptop, I had laying around.

I also tried to install Windows XP Home from a Windows installation CD, the same OS, the laptop had before the hard drive died.

Everything is going well until the laptop has been made all the installation files, instead of giving me the opportunity to install Windows or repair Windows, the laptop will eventually show me a blue screen with the message:

"A problem has been detected and windows has shut down to prevent damage to your computer.

What can I do to fix this? I installed Windows XP on another computer using the same CD, so the CD disappeared not corrupted and replacing the hard drive is hardly used.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    @zenvo2015,

Hello and thanks for the display on the HP support forums.  The first thing you want to check is if there are any problems with the hard drive that you put in.  Run BIOS diagnostics for the drive and the equipment to make sure that there is no problem.

I downloaded the iso file of windows 7 Home premium 64-bit. can I use the product key to my Home Premium pre installed windows 7 64-bit OS that are in my label of windows laptop back...

Yes you can. To learn more:

    http://techingiteasy.WordPress.com/2012/04/13/how-to-activate-Windows-7-OEM-license-using-a-retail-disc/

If your computer is pre-installed with Windows 7 Home Premium, you should have a recovery if partition:

New computers coming often pre-installed with Windows 7 have what is called a recovery partition. This is used to reinstall an operating system in the case of a system failure. To access it, you need to start when you start your computer by pressing a function key. This can be either F1, F2, F9, F10, F11, F12 key DEL or tab. See the manual that came with your PC for instructions on how to reinstall Windows.

This is how the recovery partition is accessible to most popular brands...

For Dell, press CTRL + F11 directly after switching on the device

For HP, press F11 directly after switching on the device

For LG, press F11 directly after switching on the device

For Toshiba, press and hold "0" BEFORE and during the power upward

For Acer, press and hold ALT + F10, as soon as you see the logo

For Asus, press F9, as soon as you see the Asus logo.

For Samsung, press F4 to the power upward...

For Fujitsu, press the F8 key directly after the power

Advent, restart your computer. Then, press F10 repeatedly until the message "Starting system recovery"

Sony VAIO, reboot and press "F8" or "F10" repeatedly until the screen "Advanced Boot Options".

    ------------------------

If the recovery partition is damaged or does not, you can then use the downloaded Home Premium as an alternative.

  • HP PAVILION 15-00B002TU: cannot install Windows 7.0 64 bit on Hp Pavilion i3 model 15-00B002tu

    Hello

It has to do with my Hp Pavilion model I3 i5-00B002tu, which came with pre-installed 8.0 Win, the problem is that Iam trying to 7.0 64 bit Windows support USB, but at the end of the installtion it gives me the error 'installing Windows could not configure windows to run on this computer hardware', I tried to load drivers of "'https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/22194 ' but the problem persists" I need to install win 64 bit 7.0

    Please help me to install

    Thank you

    Hello:

The Intel link you posted does not work, so I don't know what you've tried.

    See if it works...

Download the drivers from this link below (first listed file - 64-bit).

    https://Downloadcenter.Intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx? AGR = Y & ProdId = 2101 & DwnldID = 23060 & keyword = Intel + Rapi...

Extract (copy) the files on a USB FlashDrive without all records.

With the flash player and the installation of W7 media connected to the computer, boot from the installation of W7 media.

After selecting the install now option, select the training - Advanced menu, Options and select the option load a driver.

You should now see the storage driver files listed.

If you check the box, it only includes the compatible driver.

Follow the prompts and I hope, will install W7.

This small laptop is idea for my Renault Clip software, so we need to install Windows XP pro.

I tried different setting in the bios, XP is listed, theres so no reason for it not install it!

Come on HP, I need your advice please.

    Hello:

There is a very good reason that XP does not install.

Intel did not provide any sata ahci drivers for the chipset that has your laptop.

That's why you got the BSOD.  XP cannot find the hard drive.

The latest processors from Intel-based notebook chipsets which had support for XP have laptops with the 7 Series chipsets.

Not to mention the fact that you wouldn't find any graphic or wireless drivers for XP even if you can get it (that you can't) install.

  • HP Pavilion p6 - 2176 s: install Windows 7 on SSD without disc

    Hello

I want to install Windows 7 on an SSD (I plan on getting a Samsung 850 Evo 128 GB) but I can't get one any file or installation disk. My PC did not come with a disk, only a code produced on the case. I went to the site of software recovery of Microsoft and typed code, but he told me that the product was not supported, as it was an OEM copy. I could try to create a restoration disk using the recovery on my main hard drive partition, but I heard the average success rate that was weak. Any suggestions on how to get the OS on the SSD drive? I have a 16GB Flash Drive if necessary void.

Yes it is a way to do it.

If your hard drive still has the partition recovery on it, you can use the feature of factory restore from the Recovery Manager which will effectively drive to the same state that when you got the computer.  Coaurse, there will be a lot of bloatware which you could uninstall before cloning.

If the recovery partition does not work and you have not created discs recovery when you got the computer, you can order them from HP.

  • Product ID invalid when you try to install Windows XP on VMware.

    XP installation of VMware

    Hello

I have a PC under win 7. and I am trying to Flash an old router to wireless access point for a spot of dead in my house. To cut a long story short, I need to Flash the router using a software program that does that on XP (I tried the compatibility options in Windows 7 and it does not work). Then I put on the implementation of a virtual machine using VMware and an old copy of XP, I had. However, when I try and install XP I get the error that the product id is not valid. Now, I know that the software is legitimate - it was part of a XP operating system provided with an HP laptop - so my question is how I can get through the installation? I will not buy another XP code - after all I will ever use again once I finished the flash - and for the same price, I could buy a new router!. I just want to save the Earth, a small piece of discharge potential and save myself $20!
    Any help appreciated

I am running windows 7 Home premium 64 bit on my laptop. I have a disc of windows 7 ultimate 32 bit, is it possible to upgrade to the ultimate disk, if so, how, if not how do I use the ultimate disc? Thank you very much, Mark.

No, you can't, but if its Windows 7 Ultimate you want, simply use the Windows 7 Ultimate product key to upgrade Windows 7 Home Premium to Windows 7 Ultimate using Anytime Upgrade.

If the license for Windows 7 Ultimate, you have access to is a retail version update or complete, you can use the product key and the Express upgrade to Windows 7 Home Premium to Windows 7 Ultimate. First of all, check that the edition of Windows 7, you are upgrading is already enabled (if it isn't, you will encounter complications and that you might start all by performing a clean installation). Click Start, type Anytime Upgrade, click on the option enter a key, enter the key of Windows 7 Ultimate edition at the request, click Next, wait while checking the key, accept the license agreement, click on upgrade, wait while the software upgrades, (it may take 10 minutes or more depending on the if updates are required) your computer restarts automatically, after the reboot, Windows 7 will notify you updating the computer, the computer will restart once more automatically and will be completed the upgrade, a window will appear notifying the upgrade was successful and your computer is ready to use, click Close, you should be upgraded to Windows 7 Ultimate files the stored settings and programs.

Windows Anytime Upgrade fails with the error:
"every time that the upgrade has failed. Go online to solve the problem.

If Anytime Upgrade still does not work:

Shut down and restart your computer.

Make sure that the Windows updates have been installed.

Download the hotfix that contains a tool called CheckSUR, this tool will look at the package and the maintenance of records and difficulty any data corrupted, the tool is listed under kb947821 he can be found at the following link http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=947821

If Anytime Upgrade still does not work, turn off the user account control:

    Try the following:

If the license for Windows 7 Professional, you have access to is a retail version update or complete, you can use the product key and the Express upgrade from Windows 7 Home Basic to Windows 7 Professional. First of all, check that the edition of Windows 7, you are upgrading is already enabled (if it isn't, you will encounter complications and that you might start all by performing a clean installation).
