HP Pavilion laptop PC 15: update the bios

Product name: HP Pavilion 15 laptop

Product number: G8D81PA #ABG

Serial number: [edited by moderator serial number

8.1 Windows 64-bit

I tried to apply the update to the BIOS F.16Ap1, Soft Pack no. SP69882. I did this on the advice of the HP Support Assistant. He also recommended updates for Cyberlink Power2Go and Cyberlink YouCam software. It seems that these two updates are working.

The first time I restarted the computer it came with the error screen saying there was a problem and he tried to fix it. This happened twice. Then a screen appears that had a number of options, including "Restart" and "try to solve the problem." I chose "shut down the computer.

I left the computer off for about 5 minutes.

To restart the computer in the HP Support Assistant update message was still there so I tried again. This time the procedure seems to flow normally. The computer rebooted and everything seems in order. However, the HP Support Assistant says even the BIOS need to be updated.

I was not looking to shut down the computer, or remove the external power source, while the update was underway.

How can I get the update to work properly?

And Yes, if it is to show that the version of the BIOS, HPSA now so you should be good. Remember what I wrote before, on how to roll back your version if you must, but from the sounds of things, it should not be necessary.

Strange that you would receive an email regarding an update of the HP BIOS, personally I do not these emails unless I asked for it.

If your system works well, ignore it for now.  If it's not broken, don't fix it is my motto.

  • HP Pavilion dv4-1120br: doubts about the BIOS update for my model with the operating system current instaled.

    Hello

I have a HP Pavilion dv4-1120br, I know that this model of HP laptop is old, but I instaled the 64 bit of Windows 10 on my machine and saw that my BIOS is version F.30 and the last of them available on the site of HP F.66 has.

The problem is that this model is not suport for Windows 10 because, as I said, is too old. Can I download and run the update of the BIOS for Windows 7 64-bit available in the Web site, or I need to downgrade my OS to Windows 7, update the BIOS and then pass it back to Windows 10?

    Thanks for the help!

    Hello;

Let me welcome you on the HP forums!

Your second proposal is correct - as the updates to the BIOS on the HP site are specific to the OS version and if you try to run one for Win7 in Win10, it will refuse to run.

    Hello

I have HP Pavilion DV6 3122TX and recently I was updating my drivers and software from the HP Web site for my laptop. Everything was done smoothly. As I updated my BIOS, I noticed that I was not able to switch between ATI Radeon 5650 and Intel HD Graphics, then I was also shocked that he wasn't showing a charger plugged into icon too. Although the battery was charging but didn't show any icon for it. I am running Windows 7. After a few days, my battery was went wrong and was not in charge. I bought the new battery from HP Store for my laptop, and then after a few days now he is dying too. My computer laptop suddenly stops on about 30% of battery remaining and battery does not charge. I arranged another charger and plugged, but once more. I gave the laptop to the service center local and got NO from them as well. They couldn't find the problem. After a lot of research and reading messages HP, I finally understood that it was the problem with the BIOS Update and Windows 7. So, out of curiosity, I installed Linux RedHat 6 on windows 7 and everything was OK. But I am a graphic designer for Linux is not a good choice for me. I want to just restore my BIOS in its original version of the default BIOS. Please kindly help me to get my original BIOS. I tried everything on my hand. I also ask HP to the original versions of the drivers like BIOS on its Internet site. My laptop is dying. Please, Experts, I need your kind assisstence. Thanks in advance

Create the key USB HP Diagnostics of material 3-in-1 PC and boot to it.

If you updated the BIOS from the old version will still be in a folder of your operating system. Use the method I proposed to get it back.

If you are unable to read the instructions on the web page of Diagnostics of material for the HP PC, then I suggest that you pay someone to do it and create the flash drive for you.

  • HP Pavilion ze4936ea: update the BIOS.

    I have a HP Pavilion ze4936ea (PN624EA #ABU) is all about 2005.
The BIOS revision was F.15 and I downloaded sp31140.exe to e.16.
    I don't have what I had when I upgraded to e.16.

I tried to update the BIOS because it indicates by error that there is a floppy drive or a USB Flash drive at startup. But it is not a Floppy drive in the ze4936ea and I had a program on USB I tried to start from! The program BIOS F.15 erred. As well as the program e.16 BIOS, which also indicates a floppy drive, but no USB Flash drive in the laptop.

The system BIOS has not the ability to boot through USB devices. I suggest that you create a bootable CD with the utility you have on the USB flash drive.  Here is a link that allows you to create a startup disk:

  • Update the BIOS for HP Pavilion M9400f

PC desktop, HP Pavilion Elite 9400F

    Windows 7 64-bit.

Error message: Incorrect for your system (253) Bios please contact support.

I use the bios upgrade HP site says to download for my PC, but the upgrade works only with a card mother M2P61PM-HM.

Mine has a motherboard M2n68-(NARRA3) and the latest bios for this motherboard does not support Windows 7 and is abandoned.

My system black screen constantly when out of mode 'sleep' and upgrade the bios addresses that issue.

Try to use the BIOS Nettle3 update on the card mother Narra3 will cause problems. Most of the time that BIOS HP update routines is written for a specific operating system and will not install on other operating systems.

Make sure you use the update of the correct M2N68LA BIOS for your motherboard Narra3, several different versions of the M2N68LA were made (narrated, Narra3, etc.)

Please put back the computer it's original Vista OS to install the M2N68LA (Narra3) update of the BIOS. After you install the update, you can return the system to Windows 7. Make it easy and not lose all personal data, disconnect your Windows 7 drive and a blank disc. Using the recovery DVD, install Vista. Update the BIOS. Disconnect the Vista disc, and then reconnect the player to Windows 7. You should be good to go.

  • update the BIOS of motherboard for HP Pavilion M7570n and now my computer going in circles

I have a HP Pavilion - XP or version of the original software m7570n!

    Motherboard is HP/Compaq name: Leucite-UL8E

    http://support.HP.com/us-en/document/c00714544

I downloaded and installed from HP website: update the BIOS of motherboard P5LP - THE

    http://h10025.www1.HP.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=PV-54482-1&cc=us&DLC=en&LC=en&...

Now my computer boots into a circle.  It begins... window XP blink... I can see a quick blue screen and some info, but too fast to read... then at startup mode without failure, etc, etc, etc! Each option piced it goes back to the circle of frustration.

I entered F1 and set it for return to the settings by default, but who has not set.  I see several suggestions to pull CMOS jumpers, but fear just start riders pulling and causing damage.

Someone can give me a step by step repair to understand where and how update BIOS software... is so simple that all reinstall the same file again?  I have the origianl file downloaded on my USB key.  I'm not comfortable with moving forward in fear of more damage!

THANKS FOR ANY HELP IN ADVANCE!

    TIM

    NOW FOR THE FINAL SOLUTION:

Google is my - so true!  I did google how to reflash the BIOs, but I kept? How I was going to do when I've never seen a 'USB key' as an option in the BIOs boot sequence.  I then looked to do the 'flash' of a CD - with the boot BACK on it, files but everywhere I read on line discussing this method - said most flash programs require you to save first the old BIOs files - you can't do from the BACK / BIO Flash or at least I haven't found a way to BACK startup disk!

NOW, I'M TOTALLY FRUSTRATED!  Now what should I do?  I knew that the 'blue screen of death"contained the error message that I need to know! I just need to read it, but I couldn't because it flashes in a fraction of a second? GRRRRRRRRRR

WELL!  I grabbed my digital camera Sony - put on 'SPEED' shot!  I started the computer and kept shooting until I captured the screen!  The error message was "0x0000007B"!

I googled the error message and found this site:

    http://pcsupport.about.com/od/findbyerrormessage/a/stop0x0000007b.htm

I have read on the list of options and decided that the setting in the BIOs should be where I wanted to start.  I changed the setting for the "RAID" to FDI HHD... BINGO!  I'm back in the game!

SO THANK YOU FOR YOUR HELP AND TAKE THIS INTO ACCOUNT FOR FUTURE TECH SUPPORT QUESTIONS!

  • Laptop HP 15-r001tu: updated the Bios PC portable HP 15-r001tu

My laptop randomly makes automatic update of the BIOS recovery quite regularly, perhaps every two weeks, so I was wondering if this could be a problem with my laptop should I get extract? Or if it could just be normal? Thank you.

    @Kay7

It is not random. The HP Support Assistant is usually set on install updates, as appropriate, on a weekly basis.  I took a glance at the available on the web portal of suport BIOS updates in the section downlolad. I saw that in May there were six the available BIOS updates. I highly recommend that you turn off the automatic updates in Suport of tune.  Who will take care of the issue and put control of your laptop in your hands.

The HP Support Assistant is the only clean utility that your laptop comes able to update the BIOS on its own. Only install BIOS update when there is a reason and not just because a BIOS update is available. It is under the heading of don't fix it if it is not broken or it could break

When the HPSA is put in place in order to review and approve the updates, you should see an icon like the following in the systray down by the system clock.

This is the update that he wants me to take a look at review and choose to install or not.

Advanced options HPSA. Make sure that no automatic option is selected.

  • Update the BIOS and system health report question

I have two questions to ask you.

    1. I just bought a Quad DV6T-7000 a month ago. I'm unable to create a report of health system through the control panel > performance & information > advanced tools > generate system health report.  I get an error saying "cannot run" with no other information. It apparently came from HP in this way. Something has been corrupted? I have configured my laptop the way I like it and have installed all programs and applications of my previous laptop, so I hope that I don't need to do an installation of windows 7 to fix this. It is not really important. But it should work.

2 HP Support Assistant automatically installs updates to bios, or is it something that has to be done manually? I am currently set to auto critical or important updates. There is an update of the bios (f.22 I think) available for my Pavilion DV6T - 7000 Quad Edition, however, I am wary to update my bios given the many problems that people have after doing an update their bios.  So far, HP support Assistant has not notified me of the update and I have problems with the problems it addresses. Should I be worried?

Thank you, appreciate your making this feature expert day!

The files of your operating system will be inspected and the files that are supposed to be corrupted or damaged will be replaced with fresh copies of the repository own Windows file.  If this does not resolve the problem, then I suggest that you run Windows update. There may be an update that resolves this problem

Does your laptop have a UEFI environment.  This in fact safe update the BIOS if you decide to do.

You can set the HP Support Assistant to install updates or to notify you when updates are available.

I recommend that you do not set automatically update anything. My preference is that the Windows operating system and the laptop / desktop only doing what I want to do and when I want them to... That way I don't get surprises not unexpected and mysterious death blue screens or black screens.

  • Impossible to update the BIOS on my Satellite A660

    Hello, guys!
When I try to update the BIOS on my laptop in version 2.3 (latest version 1.6) I get the message "install UEFI winflash 0.02:

No, there is no other update BIOS because victory BIOS update version is available on the Toshiba driver website.

I guess you need good work and battery charge in order to update the BIOS.

But why you want to update the BIOS? Is something wrong with the laptop?
The update of the BIOS is a very serious update and must be done very carefully
Incorrect procedure may damage the motherboard!

  • Satellite Pro A120: Need to update the BIOS after upgrade CPU

    Hello

I have a Toshiba Satellite Pro A120 and I need to update the bios of a change in cpu cause.
The laptop works very well, but for some reason any with the new processor fan runs always full.

A lot, I searched but found nothing.
The model number is PSAC1E-0QL04CG3 of ideas where I can find the bios?

    THX in advance,
    John

    Hello

First of all: update BIOS doesn t help you.
Why do you think that BIOS update should help reduce the activity of fan?

I guess that your new processor is faster. Right?
So it offers more performance and this leads to higher heat dissipation... so finally the CPU must be cooled and this can be done only if the cooling module would turn faster you agree with me?

By the way: the update of the BIOS is on the page of the Toshiba UE driver. Since the satellite Pro A120 is very old series, you will need to search for drivers in area Archive (Type of product-> Archive)
