HP Envy 14 with graphics switchable

Hi I have an Envy 14-1011NR I upgraded to Win 8 Pro 64 bit. I could find the drivers for the graphics card, AMD and Intel chipset and install both. The switching part is what does not work. Even if the Catalyst Center lists/offer menu an option to switch graphics it is not working properly. Once I change, the display will be blank until I have 1) connect to an external monitor or 2) select 'extend' in the options of Windows P of multiple screens. When I look at the screen resolution Control Panel it shows a monitor for the AMD and an Intel card, so I think the latop think two monitors are connected.

When will an official HP driver available?

Otherwise, everything else works great!

Please visit this link and enter your product number.

If you see information that HP has not tested Windows 8 on this model, so it will then mean HP realease no Windows drivers 8 for this model

    I recently had a problem with my computer that I solved it by using a recovery disk to do a clean install of windows.  When I was running, I noticed that when I right click on the desktop I no longer get the switchable graphics configuration option.

    I started by redownloading from the site Web of AMD catalyst control center.  For some reason any installing this forced my resolution of 800 x 600 instead of 1366 x 768.  I drove back on two graphics cards drivers and that fixed my resolution.  I went to the HP website and updated all drivers related to graphics cards.  However, the CCC gave an error message saying that it detects all the drivers AMD.  At this point, I uninstalled CCC and other AMD software on the system, and I'm a little stuck.

    I can't download CCC again because it seems to mess up the resolution, but it seems to me to need to change graphics cards.

    Hello TacitRonin,

    Welcome to the HP Forums, I hope you enjoy your experience!

    I understand that you are not able to re - install the CCC that there is a problem with the resolution with its installation, and I'd be happy to help you!

    To re - install correctly CCC, I recommend to delete the entire AMD driver on your computer and re - install. To do this, remove the software from programs and features.

    Once the driver is then deleted, please remove the driver from Device Manager by following this document on Uninstall or reinstall a device. This should help to re - install your CCC program to your laptop.

    In addition, I also suggest to use the re HP Recovery Manager - install the supplied with your laptop original drivers. This can done by following this document on the use of the Recovery Manager to restore the software and drivers (Windows 7).

    Please re-post with the results of your troubleshooting, and I look forward to your response!

  • AMD/Intel Graphics switchable and upgrade to Windows 8

    Hello world

    I know that many HP Pavilion DV6T-6100 Quad Edition Entertainment laptop owners might consider the upgrade to the new Windows 8 operating system platform. DON'T DO IT!

    I just bought and installed the official version of Windows 8 Pro o my laptop Pavilion DV6T, which came with Windows 7 pre-installed. I had followed the whole windows 8 preview of the incompatibility issues with the graphics driver fiasco switchable HP for some time. I decided to wait to install the official version of the new OS when it was released on October 26, 2012. I bought and applied the upgrade of Windows 7 to Windows 8 last night.

    I thought I'd call HP this morning to find out when they have planned out an official HP Switchable Graphics driver update to resolve incompatibility issues that many HP users have experienced after the upgrade to Windows 8.

    • They've said, in no uncertain terms, "they have a driver available for this problem, but switchable graphic users would have to pay $200 for the reader and have their technical support engineers to apply."
    • He also told me, "HP has no plan to release an update to the free rider problem, so anyone who decided to upgrade to Windows 8 will have to pay support of $200 to fix."
    • I got also said, "my warranty does not cover this update, not being hardware related and related software."

    I paid over $1,200 USD for my laptop model HP Pavilion DV6T-6100 CTO, less than a year ago. Switchable graphics on this laptop was actually a selling point for me, as well as many other owners DV6T. I find it a very irresponsible business move for HP handle that many of their customers in this way. No other manufacturer of the laptop charges their customers for updates, while their product is still under warranty. I work in it and I'll make sure that the HP brand is avoided by everyone that I know in the future. HP has ceased to be one of the best manufacturers of PC, regarding their support for the customer, to be the ABSOLUTE WORST!

    Every computer I've ever owned was a HP, but I will never buy another PC of this society, ever! It is a promise that will be preserved.

    Switchable graphics users per HP: HP has a compatible driver Windows 8 update available, but it will cost $200 more than the price you already paid for your computer and its security.

    Hello Asebeba,

    My solution to the problem is neith, supported or recommended by HP.

    It is well known that HP released several categories of patterns DV6t. It seems that they knew they were going to get rid of the graphical configuration AMD/Intel switchable by the end of November 2011. Which is a not keep from seeling as of soon to become obsolete DV6t models that have been do with the soon outdated AMD/Intel graphic switchable setting possible. However they they built a little more of these models after their passage of OEM to Microsft Windows 8.

    This means that it has supported HP DV6t systems with AMD Switchable graphics, which came the same factories that built our systems, but are running Windows 8. These systems have newer versions of the AMD HD drivers that where fate to the DV6t users whose system supplied with Windows 7 pre-installed.  What are these systems including switchable graphics are incompatible with the 'NEW' Windows 8 and windows 8.1 operating system platforms.

    I could give you the exact name of the HP driver for your switchable graphics special configuration that would work flawlessly on your system, but wouldn't you get anything good for me to do. Because of Windows 7 HP Framework installed on your system. You still have questions, try installing updates later than those offered by HP.  HP would also remove any meantion that I would do whatever it is that they offer and which did not come with your system.

    SP59850

    As far as I know the latest AMD/Intel driver is offered by HP which works with systems built by them with Windows 8 x 64 bit preinstalled.

    Merger of Treexy pilot would be required to uninstall all previous versions of display drivers that you have on your system.

    You would also need to disable the Windows 8 and 8.1 automatic update of device functionality. (Go to: settings/PC Info / Protection of the system / hardware / device settings)

    Once there,

    Select: "no, let me choose what to do."

    Select: "never install driver from Windows Update"

    Apply also to the: Action Center settings (settings / control panel / Action Center / change Action Center settings)

    Deselect "Device Software" (Yo can also deselect 'Windows Update')

    Do not worry! Is not disable Windows Update function. It simply avoids messages from receiviing to update your display drivers that work very well. Do these two things also get rid of this triangle of peskyyellow that appears on your display drivers in Device Manager.

    Unistall old drivers display and software. Then, install the latest version of Windows 8 of the package AMD/Intel HD Graphics Driver availible for your particular display configuration. I will also not allow HP Support Center to automatically install the device drivers on your system at this time. In addition, most systems that encounter this issue with display drivers and windows 8 are no longer under warranty anyway.

    You will have no additional problems running, use or configuration of your HP AMD/Intel graphics switchable on your, shortly after you bought, card HP DV6t system with AMD/Intel switchable graphics.

    No Beta Leshcat driver not required to use the only feature you spent all that money for.

    Hello

    Probably this defective is on your videocard (hardware or software/driver). My suggestion is completely uninstall the driver and then restart the machine. Reinstall the driver if necessary. If the problem has not disappeared that it is hardware problem.

    Hi @zumzo ,

    I understand that you have installed the driver and it works fine.  When you checked the diagnostics you became confused because it says graphic R5 but you R7.

    According to the specifications of your laptop you have AMD Quad - Core A8 - 6410 APU with graphics Radeon R5 (2 GHz, 2 MB cache).

  • HP Envy 700-216 graphics Office Questions setting memory

    My computer, running Windows 8.1, has an A-10, with graphics card GPU in the HD 8670 D processor.  I know that it uses system memory.  I have found that it was using 768 MB on the 12 GB PC12800 RAM (1600).  I don't know where, or whether it is possible to adjust so that it uses more memory to my system.

    Would be really useful to use a bit more, because I doubt I'll be close to everything medium anyway?  Can I pay, is it possible?  I tried looking in almost all settings, but don't see anything to get to this setting.   I noticed some things seem to take the activation in the BIOS, but not knowing what they did exactly, I wouldn't change a thing.  Also, I looked through catalyst and saw nothing there either, to adjust.

    One of the reasons for which I had a processor A-10 (a series) is that I read later, you can add a graphics card, and that she would work with the GPU graphics to make for a better combined graphical experience.  But I noticed in the specifications of the motherboard (MS - 7778 Jasmine) the comment "If PCI-E card is installed you will have not yet boarded Graphics '   or something of the sort.  I was wondering what this means you cannot plug into these jacks on the motherboard, or the graphical part of the A-10 processor will just dormant?

    Any help on these questions would be useful, as well as suggestions of the best PCI-E graphics to get.  I have a power supply 550 Watt here somewhere - just need to find and check to see if it has all the appropriate Sockets.  Thank you!

    James

    J_Mike, welcome to the forum.

    Video Ingrated will use as much memory system as needed up to 1 GB, I think.  You don't have to adjust.

    Yes, the embedded video is disabled if you install a discrete video card.  However, it is not negative.  A discrete video card will improve performance as well.

    The 550W PSU will be good for one of the new intermediate level video cards.  Most of them requires a minimum of 400 w to work properly.

  • I use Envy 17 with a job posting and I need to be able to turn it on even if the lid is closed? Thnx

    Hey! Regarding my HP Envy 17 1085 eo. I use my Envy 17 with an external display, and I have to be able to turn on my pc, while the cover is closed (clamshell). It is possible while the pc is in "standby", while activating the mouse keyboard og - but Windows break mode standby after a certain time, leaving me frustrated as I then need to open the lid of my desire and press the button 'walk', to use the Windows. Is it possible somehow? Thank you very much!

    Hey dhalb_,

    Have you ever watched the Power Options window (start > type 'power' > click Power Options) where you can change when the computer sleeps (left)? As long as you stop the computer periodically (2 - 3 times a week, if you use it every day) it would be nice to never go in "standby mode" while it is plugged.

    For a while, I used a laptop as a desktop replacement with an external monitor and ran into the same frustration as yourself. I shut down my computer after each use if so I came up with a scheme where I could leave the screen all half open, just enough to be able to press the power button.

    If you prefer to go in standby mode, you can go to the advanced power settings (Power Options > change Plan settings next to the selected power management > change advanced power settings), extend your sleep and set "Hibernate after" connected to never by typing 'Never' in the field minutes. Click on apply and OK.

    I should mention that it does not extend the life of your computer to run constantly. Hard drive failure and the motherboard issues sees much more often on machines that are constantly running. Computers bogged down and run slowly when the memory is full. Memory erase them and will reset when the computer is turned off. Here's a link explaining more on the accumulation of memory and aging of the material.

    I hope these suggestions help. Please let me know if you have any questions.

  • Resizing of bitmaps with Graphics.drawTexturedPath - bad ratio

    Hello

    I used to resize bitmap images (to have the similar physical size on different phones) in my project with the following code - found in this thread:

    Without creating an encoded image bitmap image resizing

        public static Bitmap resizeBitmap(Bitmap image, int width, int height)
        {
            int imageWidth = image.getWidth();
            int imageHeight = image.getHeight();

            // Need an array (for RGB, with the size of original image)
            int rgb[] = new int[imageWidth * imageHeight];

            // Get the RGB array of image into "rgb"
            image.getARGB(rgb, 0, imageWidth, 0, 0, imageWidth, imageHeight);

            // Call to our function and obtain rgb2
            int rgb2[] = rescaleArray(rgb, imageWidth, imageHeight, width, height);

            // Create an image with that RGB array
            Bitmap temp2 = new Bitmap(width, height);

            temp2.setARGB(rgb2, 0, width, 0, 0, width, height);

            return temp2;
        }

        private static int[] rescaleArray(int[] ini, int x, int y, int x2, int y2)
        {
            int out[] = new int[x2*y2];
            for (int yy = 0; yy < y2; yy++)
            {
                int dy = yy * y / y2;
                for (int xx = 0; xx < x2; xx++)
                {
                    int dx = xx * x / x2;
                    out[(x2 * yy) + xx] = ini[(x * dy) + dx];
                }
            }
            return out;
        }

    My problem with the code was that it was quite slow - larger images would take almost a second (!) on the older phones (8830) scale.  It did not prevent UI - I have the code running in a separate Thread - but it has considerably delayed showing the image on the screen.

    Recently, I started to experiment with Graphics.drawTexturedPath and I really like this method.  However, I found a weird problem while reducing images.  For example, I need to put a picture of 48 x 48 up to 42 x 42.  The most important parameters for the scale are dux and dvy (of the four walk coordinates vector only these two are zero).  So now my code object looks like this:

    XYRect area = getExtent();
    // ourBgImage is the unscaled Bitmap - our background image
    int imageWidth = ourBgImage.getWidth();
    int imageHeight = ourBgImage.getHeight();
    int[] xPts = {0, 0, area.width - 1, area.width - 1};
    int[] yPts = {0, area.height - 1, area.height - 1, 0};
    int dux = (int) ((((long) imageWidth) << 16) / area.width);
    int dvy = (int) ((((long) imageHeight) << 16) / area.height);
    // Keep aspect ratio and make image fit fully
    dux = dvy = Math.max(dux, dvy);
    g.drawTexturedPath(xPts, yPts, null, null, 0, 0, dux, 0, 0, dvy, ourBgImage);

    which is a little shorter and much more fast-work (especially on older phones as 8830).

    However, the image is truncated on the right and down - looks like two pixels are missing on one of these two parties.  This was not the case with the old algorithm. I am specifying all the wrong settings?

    Final nail in the coffin of drawTexturedPath:

    I decided to check how drawTexturedPath resizes checkerboard (mainly the scale down).  And the results are pretty ugly - it seems to use the algorithm "nearest neighbour" without any means.  The project with which I tested it is attached.  Once you have it running, use Alt + move to shrink and Alt + down to stretch.  Observe the results.

    The decision is, of course, to remove this method and resize Bitmaps the old way

  • Need help with graphics

    Hi all

    I'm experimenting with graphics api.

    Although I used it until I'm still not very confident on this subject. So, I want to build a strong foundation in this area. I looked online but couldn't find something really useful and what explains the basics.

    For my first mission I want to draw a rectangle in the middle of the screen. Now, for this I used a verticalfieldmanager and I replaced its sublayout method.

    In the sublayout method, I use the getgraphics() method to create the instance of the graphics class. Now, type the following lines:

    g.drawRect (width/2, height/2, 70, 30);

    g.fillRect (width/2, height/2, 70, 30);

    Super.paint (g);

    setExtent (width, height);

    but all I get is a white screen... can't use a graphical object directly in a fieldmanager? do I have to draw the rectangle in a separate field (perhaps a labelfield), then add it to the fieldmanager?

    as you can see my bases regarding the user interface graphics and custom api are not very good and that's why I need all the help I can get here.

    Thank you!!

    For one you super.paint () to call after you did you paint that will erase everything you have done. There is no need to call super.paint () If you make your own custom paint job.

  • Publish reports migration with graphic functions.

    Hi guys,.
    I'm working on the relationship between 10g and 11g migration and I have a problem with the reports that contains a chart. They give the following error when I run them against the report of 11g Server (they work very well against the server 10g with on all issues)

    The report stopped with the error:
    REP-56048: engine rwEng-1 crushed., job Id: 24.

    I searched on Google for a solution to fix them, the closer, I found was install Oracle Graphics 6i engine in a House separate from the Oracle, but this has been said for 9i and 10g, you can find that in the oracle document below:

    http://www.Oracle.com/technetwork/middleware/reports/graph-FAQ-with-style-094084.html#Q101

    Do anyone knows if I can 6i engine install Oracle Graphics in a separate Oracle 11 g House too?, so that they work at least, if not to change those that exist?

    Thank you
    Sona.

    Hello Sona,
    Unfortunately installation chart 6i to one OH for 11g will not work. This option is possible as long as 10g as a temporary option during migration to the BI beans new chart features in gr 10, 2 and 11 g.

    Migration Oracle Graphics graphics 6i

    How can I migrate my Oracle graphics cards to the new chart format in reports of Oracle9i or Oracle10g reports?

    Oracle9i Release 1 go, graphical reports from Oracle was desupported. Reports of Oracle9i and Oracle10g use BI beans to generate graphs. Because of the underlying technology, there is no way to direct migration of Oracle Graphics to the bean BI graphing functionality. Therefore, the user will need to rewrite all their new graphics with the graphic Wizard in Report Builder.

    Can I still use my Oracle Reports Developer 6i existing reports with graphical charts Oracle Oracle reports?

    As stated in the declaration of the Oracle reports, Oracle Graphics is no longer ships with Oracle Reports. However, as part of the migration route, you can still run Oracle Oracle reports graphic graphics if you install Oracle 6i graphics engine in a separate Oracle home. You must only maintain graph Oracle 6i as a temporary measure while redesign you your new charts using the chart wizard. For more details on configuring Oracle to use Oracle Graphics 6i, see Migration of graphics in the Oracle9i Application of Oracle9iAS version 1 (1.0.2.2.x) Server Migration manual version 2 (9.0.2).

    N ° you must have a separate installation of Oracle 6i graph generator to change your existing graphic Oracle 6i graphics since Oracle Graphics is not delivered with Oracle Reports. We strongly recommend that you migrate your cards to the new standard in the Oracle reports.

  • MovieClip sprite vs drawing with graphics

    Hello! I have a program that dynamically draws a polygon anywhere where the user clicks on the screen. (using lineto, moveto) However this polygon is always behind the other symbol of objects on the screen even if his last added in the childlist is. Is there a problem with the depth when you draw symbols vs drawing with lines? How can ensure me that my smart object will display in the face?

    Thank you

    Will be

    OK the problem is that you have the graphics in the main class through the polygon class to draw

    which works great but all the objects in the main class, if they are added before or after the polygon will appear above any line draw

    to work around this problem

    change the DrawPolygon() function do not take a target

    so

    public void DrawPolygon() (x: Number, y: Number, sides: uint, RADIUS: Number, angle: number = 0): void

    adjust the call to this function in hand in the appropriate form

    then in DrawPolygon() instead of references to target just replace them with graphics this will draw on the contrary to the purpose of polygon graphics

    Note You can put calls Graphics.Clear and graphics.lineStlye early DrawPolygon() so

    We can then remove the clear and graphics.lineStyle calls in your main class

    hope that makes sense
