HP Pavilion OS downgrade

I have a HP Pavilion E06DX 17 with Windows 8. I would use this work but it takes Windows 7 Professional installed to interact with pcm of GM vehicles. How it would be difficult to change HDD and install Win. Pro 7. ? Is it not possible? Could I find downloads for all the drivers on this model? Thanks for your help. rick188fan

Hello:

Looks like you have left a 1 off your model #.

http://support.HP.com/us-en/document/c03943159

Here is the link to the service manual.  R & R HARD drive procedures are in Chapter 5.

http://h10032.www1.HP.com/CTG/manual/c04069163.PDF

The difficulty of removing the hard drive is subjective.

Which depends on your level of comfort, just like my trying to remove and replace the spark plug on my 2001 #8 Trans Am WS6.

But I must say that in comparison, remove the hard disk of your laptop model is relatively easy.

Here's what you need to do to install W7 64-bit on your model.

First of all, make your recovery W8 media set before installing W7, in which case the result is not successful or you want to install W8 in the future.  Relying on the recovery partition/manager will be a losing proposition after installing W7.  More information on how to do that is below.

http://support.HP.com/us-en/document/c03481733

Then, you must change a setting in the BIOS to be able to install and run W7 64-bit.

http://support.HP.com/us-en/document/c03736054

After graduating installed W7, here are links to the drivers you need.

1 install the amd chipset driver and restart.  You want the first file listed.

http://support.AMD.com/en-us/download/chipset?OS=Windows 7-64

2. install the graphics driver AMD Catalyst beta from the link below, and then restart.

http://support.AMD.com/en-us/KB-articles/pages/latest-catalyst-Windows-Beta.aspx

3. audio.  Accept the agreement. Download and install the second on the list and restart.

http://www.Realtek.com.tw/downloads/downloadsView.aspx?langid=1&PNid=24&PFID=24&level=4&Conn=3&DownTypeID=3&GETDOWN=false

Wired network: download and install the second on the list.

I understand that you have done an upgrade of BIOS, but it did not take well to your HP Pavilion Notebook - 15-ab522tx. You said that your laptop is now slow and games and movies are stuttering.

A lot of laptops HP have a HP BIOS restore tool that can recover the BIOS from a previous version and restore the basic features. Please follow the documentation to do a reset of the BIOS.

Have you tried to do a hard reset?

What version of BIOS go you to?

You said that 10 Windows is up-to-date.

Have you tried to use the HP Support Assistant's updates also?

You can try the following steps to reload the factory installed configuration of the BIOS settings:

    1. In the BIOS Setup utility, select the tab out.

    2. Select message Load Setup Defaults.

    3. Select Save Changes and Exit (pressing F5 and the Enter key will also load default configuration).

    4. Press ESC, then press Enter to exit the installation program.

If you need assistance, I would be more than happy to continue to help you. Please re-post with any information that you can help me find a solution for you. Please also let me know if the BIOS reset works. If you want to show appreciation for my efforts today, please take a second to click the Thumbs Up button below.

    Hello

    I have a problem I cannot downgarde windows 10 or 8.1 for windows 7

Because windows 10 or 8.1, I do not

    Please help me

I have never run the program before, so unfortunately, I can't help you to operate.

As far as I know is unless you can get the USB3 drivers to install, you will not be able to install W7 on this platform.

Another Member of the forum copied the folder to the driver on a flash drive and used the menu advanced in installation, load a driver through the driver's record and loaded the necessary USB3 drivers.

    Vik808, welcome to the forum.

I did some research to see if I could find Win 7 drivers for your motherboard.  The APU/processor was released in 2015.  It has integrated video chipset.  The only drivers available are to win 10.  Therefore, I don't think that you will be able to upgrade to Windows 7.

You're not really downgrading, because Microsoft "Downgrade rights" apply only to Windows Pro/Business. You simply install another version of Windows on your computer. Yes, it's possible! Yes, there are drawbacks... like the lack of support of the HP drivers

Is useful to mention that I have a legal key for Windows 7.

You will need to use a key of unused valid PID and COA legally install Windows 7 on your new PC.

Additional, I know that the Windows 10 key is "embedded" in the BIOS, so if I downgrade to Windows 7, then return to Windows 10, the value of the key will not be required because it's inside the BIOS? Or should I get the value with a tool?

Using the HP recovery media you create before changing anything on the computer... you should have no problem to return the computer to a factory State, if you wish.

Go into the BIOS and check to see if the action keys is enabled.

If the action keys is not enabled, you will need to hold down the Fn key to increase or decrease the brightness of the screen.

To identify the drivers, you will need to enter in the Device Manager, right click on an unknown device and then click Properties. Which will open the properties of the device window. See the following image.

Copy the string and use as keywords in a Google or Bing search. The result will tell you what its manufacturer and the model of the device. You can also post here in your thread and I or someone else can help you with it.

    Hello

I bought this laptop HP Pavilion Notebook - 15-p189sa with little window 8.1 64.

I didn't know the poor performance and 8.1 window issues.

Although I tried this OS, I want to downgrade to a reliable operating system and best quality.

    Why change?

-L' network wifi icon is not working properly, when I change the network disables it in itsalf and it is impossible to solve it it then I have to restart the laptop.

    -L'interface is orrible

-Sometimes the phone takes hours before turning off or I never turn off

It is longer so the reasons why I want to change this OS not usable and hostile.

The downgrade problem is drivers that are not available on the hp Web site.

Can I use the drivers wind8 for wind7?

Maybe a program can adapt to drivers for wind7?

I am not able to develop pilots by myself so what do you suggest?

    Hi Paul,.

I installed the Realtak you gave me and Bluetooth works properly now.

Just to let you know that the Synaptics on the repo of hp drivers cause a crash on wind7. I used the drivers on their site here .

The laptop looks good for today, I'll do some tests of regression during these days.

  • Downgrade HP Pavilion G6 2300st of Windows 8 for Windows 7. No driver?

    Hello

We bought a HP Pavilion G6 2300st to our parents with Windows 8 is installed. Unfortunately, they have some diffuculties with Windows 8. So I thought that we had to downgrade to windows 7.

I tried to install Windows 7 on last night and I was not be able to do so because of the Legacy Support and UEFI etc.

After that, little research on the web and I think I'll be able to install windows 7 now. However, when I was searching the Web, I realized there are a lot of people have the same problems of course problem drivers. Then I find that G6 2300 st has no W7 drivers.

I wonder if anyone here downgraded G6 2300 st for W7 or not?

I found someone here downgrade the G6-2306el to W7 linked below.

    http://h30434.www3.HP.com/T5/notebook-operating-systems-e-g-Windows-8-and-software/HP-Pavilion-G6-23...

That is the question; Can I use the same drivers who said in these posts?

If not, could someone please help me find the drivers work for G6 2300 st for OS Win7?

    Kind regards

    Hello:

You can use all the W7 x 64 drivers and this model on your software.

DO NOT USE ANY BIOS OR FIRMWARE FROM THIS LINK FILES
