HP Pavilion p6120t: Win7 to upgrade Win10 - DVD drive disappeared

After upgrade WIndows 10 - everything is going well except my DVD drive, HP DVD-RAM GH40, is not detected by the operating system. The secondary CD-ROM drive is noted and the operation.

Each, however, is recognized in the BIOS, but the Device Manager is powerless. He doesn't know it's there and new research of material does not.

How can I get online?

    Hello

    I would like to ask for help about this problem:

    Today one of the programs from TOSHIBA, that came with my laptop (L650-11F), warned me about an update of the BIOS (v1.80) after download and install my DVD drive disappeared from Win7 and it has a continuous yellow light on it. It does not even open when I press the eject button.

    I have however maybe install the old version 1.60 back would help, but TOSHIBA does not keep older drivers version apparently.

    Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • Cd\dvd drive disappeared on Equium A60

    Hi all

    Can someone help me? I have an Equium A60. It's 18 months, outside the usual on heating problems and closing, now it starts but my DVD drive disappeared. I have a rug * a DVD-RAM UJ - 830 s. Win XP just didn't load it.

    He is no longer in 'my computer '. I'm in Control Panel of configuration and the 'systems' then 'system properties' and watched on 'Device Manager '. The drive is there, but with a big yellow exclamation point. So I checked the 'properties' it has the following message: "Windows successfully loaded the device driver for this hardware, but does not the hardware device. (Code 41) "and troubleshooting has no use.

    More than heating cooked my drive? I've updated the drivers for it, but this has no effect.

    Any ideas... ?? Thanks in advance...

  • Pavilion dv7 cannot recognize the CD/DVD drive, no help support "assistant".

    Subject says it all.  Since I got this machine, it had problems when the CD/DVD drive becomes invisible and are not accessible by any means.  A reboot has solved in the past, but now, it doesn't seem to work more.  I would like to reinstall the drivers, but guess what, I don't know what kind of player, it is (funny how that works), and Support 'Assistant' is apparently ihcapable to understand the model of this Pavilion dv7 ("product name: loading...") ("now until the heat death of the universe), which does not help either.  Anyone has a better idea than just blindly install the drivers?

    Hello

    Drivers for CD/DVD drives comes with Windows (IE with the operating system - it is not the drivers you need to download).  The driver is located in C:\Windows\system32\DRIVERS\cdrom.sys.

    First, try the automated Microsoft fixit at the link below.

    Windows 7

    Vista

    Check if the drive works now.

    If the drive does not, in the Start Menu, open Control Panel and click Device Manager.  Click to open the IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers.  Right-click on the first channel and select uninstall.  Do not delete if requested drivers.  When uninstalled repeat the process for each channel.  Also, if an ATA controller is listed, right click and uninstall it, once again is not removing the drivers if requested. Then, open the CD-ROM/DVD-ROM drives.  Make a right click the drive (if it shows!) and choose uninstall.  Do not delete if requested drivers.

    Restart the computer and let Windows reinstall devices.  Check the disc again.

    If it still does not work, re-run the fixit automated Microsoft at the link below.

    Windows 7

    Vista

    Then, in the Start Menu, open Control Panel and click Device Manager.  Click to open the CD/DVD-ROM drives.  Right-click on the drive and choose uninstall.  Do not delete if requested drivers.  When the device has been uninstalled click the icon 'Search for hardware changes' (usually just below help in the toolbar).  Let windows reinstall the disc and see if it works now.

    Best wishes

  • CD/DVD drive disappears and cannot be accessed by car.

    First of all here is my system:

    * 64 - bit Windows 7

    * Acer Aspire 4810 t

    * Just upgraded to windows 7 two weeks ago, the first time I tried the disk with the new OS drive, which worked fine with Vista.

    The problem is when I connect to windows and discovered 'My computer', I can see the disk drive, it appears in the window. I can go to the device Explorer, and play with him in it and nothing happens. However, as soon as I plop in a disk, the entire disk disappears from the "workstation, etc. and I can't able to recognize the drive."

    The disk drive works fine, I've used it before, and I'm still able to start with him outside of windows.

    I tried these steps, for the first part on the registry change, entries, that I was told to delete do not exist. I tried the second part to reinstall the drivers and that no longer works.

    I think the problem might have something to do with it. When I go into my computer, the drive is not listed as a cd/dvd drive, instead its listed as "Devices with removable storage". Any ideas why this could be?

    Finally, I reinstalled windows 7 clean install and flashed the new bios Acer. Yet, the problem is the same.

    Hello

    To be honest, I don't understand. You are talking about the Cd/Dvd drive missing or Dvd Toshiba player?

    Anyway, try this:

    1. access to the registry and delete the Upperfilters and Lowerfilters completely from the following registry key values:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Class {4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}

    Reboot the laptop and wait for the CD/DVD drive would appear once again

    or

    2 go to the page of the Toshiba driver and download dvd player

    Installed new software, the other day to 'catch' a video of my VCR - filled my Vista disk so I uninstalled after you put the video on my hard drive. Now my DVD drive does not appear on my computer.

    Hi writerchic,

    I put t know what Microsoft troubleshooting you have tried or what it does exactly, but in your case, I would like to delete the server - and lowerfilteres in the registry. Therefore, follow these steps:

    (1) run regedit (start-> Run-> regedit)
    2) go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Class {4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}
    (3) in the right pane, delete the "UpperFilters" key and delete the key "LowerFilters".
