HP Pavilion p6207c: updated HP Pavilion p6207c psu

Hi, I was thinking of upgrade to a Gigabyte GPU gets 270 R9, and powe supply needs are a half 500 watt im that. I was wondering how to go about upgrading the PSU.

Hi @enimen2,

I hope you enjoy your visit to the HP's Support Forums. I understand that you are have questions about upgrading the power supply and the video card. I'll be happy to help you.

I watched the specifications of the motherboard and video card.  The motherboard supports only PCI E 1 and the video card is PCI-E 3.0.  The video card fits into the slot but won't work on a speed PCI E 1.

I know that this ios not what you want to hear, then you upgrade the video card and the power supply but will not improve performance.

Please keep me informed of the progress of things.

If you need help, let me know and I will gladly make all that I can to help you.

Please let me know if that solves the problem by marking this post as "accept as a Solution.

  • POWER HP Pavilion p6642f PSU

    Hello

I plan on uprgrading the power that put my pc but I have heard that most psu fails in the case of hp.

The PSU, I'm looking at is the Corsair Builder Series CX430 430W.

    The dimensions are 5.9 "(W) x 3.4" (H) x 5.5 "(L).

I wonder if you can let me know if it works and enters the case

    Thank you!

P.S. I just unscrew and check myself but my screws seems to be stripped and opens im to find a way to do it.

The Corsair CX430, CX500, CX600, and all fit well more often computer consumer HP. One of these power supplies will agree and will work in your computer.

  • Update of map chart/PSU (power supply) for Lenovo Thinkcentre A70-7844C1U

    Specifications of the computer:

    Lenovo Thinkcentre A70-7844C1U

Processor Intel Pentium Dual Core E5500 (2.80 GHz)

4 GB of DDR3 RAM (upgrading to 2 GB)

Intel GMA X 4500 (integrated graphics)

    180-watt power supply

I decided my computer needed some activities if I wanted to play some games like Minecraft and Team Fortress 2.

I wanted to change my original graphics to something like a Nvidia Geforce GT 220 (minimum 300-watt power supply)

But then, I realized that my computer power supply was less than the minimum requirement for the new graphics card.

I was wondering if it was OK to always install a dedicated video card or if I needed to upgrade my diet as well.

If I need to upgrade my power supply, what do you recommend for me? (budget: $ 100 - $200)

    Thanks, Vguys!

    Fish, welcome to the forum.

Crysis - Warhead is a resource hog.  So I'm not surprised that you want to upgrade.

In smaller cases of average size, it is advisable to stay less than 9 "for the video card.  Anything longer will be questionable.  I like XFX, BFG, EVGA, Sapphire and PNY in that order.  The XFX card in the link I provided is perhaps not one you want to buy.  However, it is a good example of what to look for on a card for your computer.  I love ATI based cards because they have their Catalyst Control Panel software.  It allows you to adjust the fan speed and overclock the card if you wish.

Now for the power supply.  I love OCZ and Corsair.  Any standard ATX PSU must fit into the housing.  However, I always recommend measuring the PSU existing and comparing measures to whichever you choose.  The PSU is the backbone of the computer, I always recommend high quality maunufacturers.  Both cater to the enthusiast/gamer community.  Their products will provide a clean and stable power supply for your system.  Read the reviews from customers on all products.  Comments will give you the history directly on products without exaggeration of the manufacturer.

If you need help, let me know.

  • Presario stuck in Mode without failure.

I have a Presario SR5262NX new in November 2007, stuck in safe mode: Intel Pentium Dual Core E2160, 1.80 GHz; Cache L2 1 MB; 2 GB OF RAM; 320 GB DD; Vista Home Premium (32 bit); updated for FSP 550W PSU and GeForce 9600GT video card.

The PC is not usually online but I packed it and he brought with me on a trip to visit his family, where I have the opportunity to be online for a while and download Windows, drivers, and updates of games.  First thing I did when I'm online was to download and subscribe to Norton 360 Ver.3.  He ran a full scan and did his thing in the background very well for a few weeks.  I left the computer on and online during the night two or three times for big downloads.  Last night, I downloaded and installed an update of Realtek HD audio driver from the HP site.  As I did I noticed that the Norton logo at the top of the sidebar gadget was red and said Fix.  Thought I would look into that as soon as I completed the update of the driver.  As the update is complete, it restarted the PC.  When the start-up has passed BIOS, then the bar travel brands MS and entered the momentary blackout before MS ball logo and the password of the user window, he remained darkened without progressing further.  However, the number lock indicator lit up as he usually does automatically as a convenience to type the password.  That's all.  No response to Ctrl-Esc or Ctrl-Alt-Delete.  Can only stop by pressing the power button.

Since then I could not initialize in everything except in safe mode.  I think I might have a virus, but Norton doesn't scan in safe mode.  I went to the last recovery point and good recovery nothing is done before that, also without any change in the startup problem.  In PC-Doctor (the hardware bootable diagnostic diskette), the PC passes all tests diagnostic equipment (except the failed on start).  There is no available startup repair.  The OS installation disc is in a hard disk partition.  I tried the command 'bootrec /fixboot' in the command line, but 'bootrec' is not recognized.

I really want to fix this without doing a system recovery to factory settings.  I've done it before and it's a hassle.  And I'm not sure he would get rid of the virus, if it is the problem.  I'm middle-aged, and what I know about computers, it's just that I learned by bumbling along.  I hope that it is a simpler solution than to start.  Any help will be appreciated.  Thank you.

Yee Haa!  It works, it works!  Reinstall the RAM sticks did the trick.  Thank you, dmhoo29.  Not sure why it works well.  I guess remove the memory sticks empty the RAM, but isn't he purged whenever the PC is turned off?  In any case, thank you very much.  And thanks for the rest of you for your help.  This site is now in my favorites.  I downloaded the updates of virus definitions and Norton did a full scan as we speak.  Everything is cool.

I you thank everyone once again for taking the time.

  • The best replacement for an AMD Radeon 8670 D integrated graphics

I have a HP ENVY AMD A10 - 6700 3.7 GHz APU with integrated graphics AMD Radeon 8670 D. I have 16 GB of RAM and a 300 Watt power supply. I am running windows 8.1, the machine is surprisingly fast and HD is decent integrated graphics have come a long way! I don't play games but don't watch much programming on my HDTV. So I wonder what would be the best graphics card which is $ 100 or less with what I have, I have a PCIe x 16 slot 2.0 I think. And please recommend a food FRO the card. Thanks in advance, josh

You are welcome.  Thank you for the additional information.

Your budget makes it a bit difficult to find a video card that would meet your needs.  However, here is a card which I think will do what you need.  Read the reviews to see what users have to say about it.  It requires only a power supply (PSU) 350W runs correctly.  So it's up to you, but you might try to see if it works with the existing PSU.  If you have problems with installation, see the guide I provided in my previous post carefully.

Now, if you decide to buy a power supply, I love OCZ and Corsair.  They are passionate about quality for a good price.  The PSU is not the place to save money in a computer.  It is the backbone.  I suggest at least 500W.  This will give you some leeway for future updates.  The OCZ PSU's modular.  They are good in a smaller housing because you only use the cables needed.

  • Dimension 3100 hard and graphical upgrade

I have a Dimension 3100 desktop running a Pentium 4 with 2 GB of memory. The bios says its Version A03 who is running and the Dell system is a DV051.  I want rum 7.0 Win, but the size of the hard drive (which is 80 GB) must be increased and the graphics card needs upgrade to a Direct X 9 compatible.   I tried to upgrade to version A04, but I got an error indicating that Windows has prevented the file executable desktop upgrade form.

Question: What size a the current bios SATA drive will recognize? Suggestions?  Recommendations for a graphics card?  I have a PCIe X 1 and a PCL slot still not open.  The monitor is VGA, Viewsonic VA800 LCD entry.  I want to improve until MIcrosoft give up Win XP.  The budget is very tight, otherwise I would buy a new PC. Thoughts?

The Dimension e310/3100 can support SATA hard drives up to 2 TB in size.

Regarding the graphics card, PCI cards are usually low end.

The following PCI card has Direct 9 x.

The following map has Direct x 11 compatibility:

But, you may need to update the default 230w PSU on a 400w unit.

  • Power supply for 11.2.0.1 patch

    Hello

We have a database of 11.2.0.1

Our auditor TI has forced us to be always updated for the current PSU.

I checked the PSU for 11.2.0.1 and I was released last last JUL 2011.

Does this mean that we must stop here?

    Thank you

    Petra-K

    Hello

A set of hotfix update is a minor release so will not involve the upgrade to 11.2.0.3 or 11.2.0.4.  Once you have the last applied PSU, you can tell listeners that you do not have the last power supply.

    See the article by MOS

List of reference Documents updated fixed (PSU) Critical Patch Update Availability (CPU) and Patch for Oracle Database and Fusion Middleware product (Doc ID 783141.1)

As stated earlier the July 2011 PSU is the final version for 11.2.0.1 is the last of them, you can apply without upgrading to a newer version.

If you can upgrade to 11.2.0.3 or 11.2.0.4 clearly well worth doing - the implications of certification of your application are likely to be minimal, but of course he need permission from your application developers and it will test.

The above document keeps track of the latest patch for all versions.

  • 11.2.0.3.2 not see the

  • HP Pavilion desktop computer - a 550-015: update map PSU and graphics

I currently have the HP Pavilion Desktop 550 015 which has a 180w PSU and a GTX 745.

I'm looking to upgrade to a power supply 450W and then later on the track upgrade the graphics card. I learned that some pre-built computers have a BIOS limitation, which may mean that it will not approve some GPU chipsets.

Is this the case with my PC?

Thank you for the additional information.

I see no reason why this power supply does not work for you.  I love Corsair products.  However, if I were you, I would buy a 500W power supply at least.  It will give extra power to the use of maximum power and won't cost much more if necessary.

  • Pavilion P6207c: Hp mediasmart empty icon in the taskbar and icon missing in hp dock

I restarted my computer and my HP Mediasmart icon in the taskbar is empty, when I click on it windows says it can't open because that its been moved, renamed or deleted. But the show task up if I right click on it like watch a dvd, listen to mp3's, see, modify or download photos, see modify or download videos. (all links in the task too much work) Then trying to understand the problem, that I thought I could basically icon/link to pull a bit of my HP Dock in the taskbar hoping it would be duplicate and appear in the taskbar. But to the contrary after leaving the dock and release the mouse button, it disappeared. How do I trouble the white icon and pick up the other icon in the dock? I pulled the HP Mediasmart icon directory .exe file and it is stuck in the dock, but it works the same. The original had an arrow below and if I clicked it, a drop-down list with all tasks would come down. With that I pulled from the directory that I have to click on it and then a new bar appears with different icons for each task.

Well I solved the problem with the taskbar, I downloaded the hp mediasmart smartmenu, went into the directory and PIN to the taskbar. But I still can't one of the docking station will work as before.

    @enimen2 ,

Hi and thanks again for the rear display.  If you can do it is no longer a restoration following options is a complete recovery of the system, return to the original configuration.  You want to back up all your information before you do.  Once it starts it will wipe your system clean.

Here is a link that will help you to recovery.

  • update to Media Center computer HP Pavilion a1323w

I had problems with my original computer HP Pavilion a1323w that my only change was to add a memory to handle the upgrade to Windows 7 last year.  More recently, I bought a HP 110-023w desktop with Windows 8 (now updated to 8.1), which has much better bios, etc., but has no built-in cd/dvd drivers, etc., which has the a1323w.  Is it possible to convert the a1323w into a version that is more comparable to the 110-023w at the operational level, speed, etc., but still provides the disk drivers, etc.?  How?  How much would it cost?

    Welcome to the forum.

The short answer is, you will not be able to upgrade the computer to operate as the new computer.  It is simply old technology.  Maximum supported by the motherboard memory is 2 GB.  He's the weak link even with a discrete video card.  If you upgrade the video card, power supply (PSU) will also need to be upgraded.  With all these improvements, there will be still much slower.

Please click "Thumbs Up" if I helped you and click on "Accept as Solution" If your problem is resolved.

JATON video-339PCI-HLX Radeon HD 5450 512 MB 64-bit DDR3 card should work and this ZOTAC ZT-60604-10 L GeForce GT 610 512 MB 64-bit DDR3 PCI card should work, but in both cases, you will need to upgrade the stock of 250 Watt PSU to something like the Corsair CX430 PSU.
