We also bought this monitor to her (though I doubt it's important in this case):

HP S1931a 18.5 "diagonal LCD screen

The problem started about two months ago when the computer turns off without reason then that slowed down (before sleep should have started). After the computer restarts, he gave the beep codes that there was a problem with memory (1 short beep, 1 beep, long pause, repeat) long. After power back off and remove all devices and the power cable, the RAM has been removed (2 x 2 GB), checked for dust, bad seats, pins bent, etc...  The 2 RAM sticks have been resettled and the problem seems to be resolved.

Fast forward two months (a bit more under warranty), the same problem occurs. This time, replace the RAM has not fixed the problem. Sometimes the computer should boot properly and then randomly cut regardless of what the processor was doing (idle or under load of 25% or more). In addition, beep codes would perhaps only half the time where it would not start. The output has been verified for feeding and another (proven) outlet has also been tried. No change. At this point, the computer won't be enough for any start screen at all, not even a blue screen.

What he do to power on:

    • All powered fans (power supply, fan CPU cooler, case) and a spin at full speed.
    • Hard drive to wind up.
    • Green light on the power supply remains stable.
    • VA CD drive open and close normally.

What is does not power upward:

    • No display at all.
    • No beep codes.
    • No blue light on the button walk / stop (top of case).
    • CPU does NOT get hot to the touch after 5 seconds to be under tension (with the fan and the heatsink removed and unplugged).
    • With two strips of RAM not removed, no beep of any kind.

I also tried to use an old video card, I had to hang out, thinking that maybe the onboard graphics card were no longer works. The video card gets power as his fan runs, also at full speed. Still no display.

I already bought a pair of replacement RAM sticks, exact same specifications and brand (Crucial), no difference. I tried all combinations of each stick into each slot with the original of the RAM in the first place, so I assumed it was sticks and replaced. Now that the RAM has been replaced and no beep codes, I suspect the motherboard or the CPU.

I also tried to reset the BIOS by removing the battery for 10 + minutes and also move jumper to 2-3 1-2 during 10 seconds and replace (with power off).

What I want to know is which component I need to replace to get this computer working before its tax season. I'd like to think it's the processor, because it remains cold to the touch after turning on. If this is the case, can someone confirm that this is a suitable replacement? (Intel Pentium E5700 Wolfdale 3.0 GHz LGA 775 65W Dual-Core processor desktop BX80571E5700http://www.Newegg.com/product/product.aspx?item=N82E16819116381

If it's the motherboard (I hope not), it can be replaced without having to re - install windows? I can't find an exact replacement for the H - I41 - Μatx Foxconn (Eton). HP has one of these in stock that could be shipped out?

I know that the computer is already out of warranty (barely) and can do the work myself, but need help to determine the problem I want to throw the money to do this work right.

Thank you in advance for your help!

    John

Hello jkalbin, I think a bad mother rather than the processor card. Chess with the processors don't happen often at all. You should never feed a computer with radiator/fan all not attached to the processor. Just 5 seconds without the radiator/fan could easily burn a processor.

The fact that the processor had no hot does not mean it does not work, if the motherboard does not send power to the processor.

Motherboard failures are many times more often than the failures of processor. I had one processor to fail in more than 25 years of working with computers.

    Just some thoughts.

  • HP Pavilion Desktop PC p7-1210 - need help a little upgrading of CPU.

I've got office than Quad-Core 64-bit Hp Pavilion p7-1210 the cpu is not what I wanted to, but for 542 dollars, that might say something good?  Well, seeing it will be cheaper then build a pc, but OEM or regardless of the PC are really hard to find good CPU, I know that taking and all but they are all work which have the same plug that I have no idea at all.

Well I did a little research and found this site that tells me what I "should know" the pc, and well it wasn't really all the information I wanted, that I really need to know a little more.

    Here's the site if: http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/Document.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&taskId=120&prodSeriesId=...

I found the best cpu that speaks of the motherboard support a link but...

I really want to 3.0 GHz not 2.9 GHz... But I guess it wouldn't matter, I do not know these games mean you have 3.0 GHz...

I found a new PSU and video card that are probably very good already installed and they work great, had touble abit because the slot is locked in BIOS, but it was very easy to activate.

in any case, I'll show you the link that I found the CPU, I might buy if (I can not get a 3.0 GHz cpu)

    It's here: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819103942

The source site, indicated above link that this processor will be supported by the motherboard in the desktop HP pavilion p7-1210 pc.

The site gave me for the upgrades of the processor: processor upgrade information

I doubt the processor AMD A8 - 3870 AD3870WNGXBOXCPU K work in your system. It doesn't seem to be a BIOS update which adds support for this processor. Stick with the A8-3850 and you should have no problem.

  • Pavilion Elite HPE-170 t: need help with the result of a command prompt to Power Options

I have recently upgraded to Windows 10 in Windows 7.  Like so many thousands of people, I problelms of sleep mode.  Mine will not be auto-sleep.  It has been suggested that I saw to run command prompt: powercfg-applications

It supposedly will list the items running on your computer which can now be auto-sleep to work.  I tried several times and up to now, I get the same item displayed each time.  This is what is displayed: \device\harddiskvolume2\windows\sysWOW64\svchost.exe (hpqddsvc) is followed by this message: a file delete operation is underway

My first thought is that if there is an operation to remove file in progress all the time, it's maybe the reason why my computer is not auto-sleep.  If there is someone out there who can shed some light on this situation, I would appreciate the help.

    EUREKA * SOLVED

I found the answer to my problem!  After using the control system: powercfg-query and get the answer: \device\harddiskvolume2\windows\sysWOW64\svchost.exe (hpqddsvc) delete file operation is in progress

I started looking for whatever it is associated with the answer above.  In the Manager of tasks in respect of the services, I found the name of the file hpqddsvc, with a description of HP CUE DeviceDiscovery Service was running.  When I stopped the task and re-tried in opt power standby mode, it worked correctly.  In the Configuration of the system (by typing msconfig at the run prompt) on the Services tab, I unchecked the box for HP CUE DeviceDiscovery Service and rebooted the computer.  The service is no longer running.

I'm sure that this Service has been added to my computer when I downloaded the hp.com/support product detection tool .  The tool scans your computer to detect and identify HP products.

This can be useful to others who have the problem of the auto-sleep I've had.

    • It's time to go back to information I sent you and go through the installation program.
    • You can also use the HP connection manager to help you get the job done.

Here is the Connection Manager software.  Download and install it.  Your computer already has the software, it's going to tell if the package will install...

    • Make sure that your wireless network is enabled,
    • Then look in your taskbar for your Connection Manager icon and
    • Double-click to start

If you do not see the icon in the taskbar, you can do the following:

Start > search / type "HP connect" >

Click on 'Hp connection manager' when you see it in the start list

This is a HP Connection Manager Help file.

    Hello

    You are welcome

If the CD/DVD drive in the works of PC Gateway, you can (at least temporarily) remove it and install it in the HP, you can run your recovery disc and reinstall Vista.  Once everything is running on the HP, you can always remove the CD/DVD drive and reinstall it in the gateway PC if you wish.

  • Need help with upgrade of processor - HP Pavilion DV6729ca options

Hi, I need help to find compatible processors (CPU) upgrade for my HP Pavilion DV6729ca laptop.

I flashed the Bios Version: l58 (the latest version)

I know that this laptop already added support for the Intel Core 2 Duo Mobile Processors T8100, T8300, T9300 and T9500 in the version of the Bios F.45.

I would like to know if there are all the most advanced processors that are compatible as any Intel Quad Core or Intel Core Extreme processor, thank you.

More information: Mobile Intel 965 Express Chipset Family.

T7700 or T7800 T9500 is the best, is best bang for buck in used cpu market.

mixture of the above with SSD (for example, V300) & second storage conducted if needed in a caddy optical bay more max ram for your OS version would create a fast machine.

  • Need help finding drivers for W7 for HP Pavilion a6220n

I plan to upgrade my HP Pavilion a6220n Vista 32 bit to Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit.

I need help to find the drivers for W7. When I go to HP driver download page and select the OS W7 since the menu drop-down it does list all the drivers, could someone provide me a link where I can find all the drivers W7 please?

I heard that we can use Vista to W7 drivers, is it possible?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Hello:

Yes, you can use the drivers Vista for your PC, and it should work fine.

After have connected you to the internet, windows update will download all drivers windows 7 that may be more current than the vista ones.

DO NOT under any circumstances to Flash BIOS after installing Windows 7, or you may damage your PC most likely permanently (as in kill him).

If you find that you need to update the BIOS, do so now with Vista installed.
