HP Pavilion Slimline s5380sc: change of UEFI BIOS

Hello

I have a s5380sc HP Pavilion 4 years that I consider the upgrade with an SSD.

I wonder if the hardware (motherboard and chipset!) will support UEFI to faster startup.

I don't know what are the HW requirements it to actually support UEFI and win 8.x or win 10. ?

Hello

Hybrid boot or hibernation modes might be interesting to try.  You should see an improvement. SSD can make a big difference in the performance of the PC.

Do a google search on the boot to BIOS UEFI Boot verses.

  • HP Pavilion Slimline s3505f - change of graphics card?

Hi, I have a HP Pavilion Slimline s3505f, FJ465AA product number.

I would like to know if it is possible to change the video card in this computer?  I wanted to install a HDMI graphics card so I would be able to plug my computer directly on my HD TV.  Does anyone know if this is possible in this model of computer?  I looked here and there on the net and just could not find an answer for this model.

    Thank you

The s3505f has only a power of 160 watts.  I don't know of any video card that will run with a 160 Watt power supply.  Slimlines PCs were not designed to be upgraded.

The most recent model slimlines have slightly greater power and low-power, low-profile video cards are available.

Hi guys, I have the Veriton X4620G SFF with Windows 7 Pro 64 office so I wonder if I can change the UEFI bios legacy? Thanks in advance... John

If your system has been with windows 7 factory, no.

You can't update in the UEFI.

I need to change the power supply on a Pavilion Slimline s5110uk - anyone know if there are special instructions for this model?
I can only find the video instructions for the s3100 which seems to be assembled differently. I have never tried something like this before, so instructions must be foolproof!

HP web document that should have enough information. Insofar as making it's foolproof. It's never going to happen in this life. When you do something YOURSELF there is always the risk involved.

Replace the power supply is one of the simpler tasks of hardware replacement for a PC. Replacement of a module of memory can be much trickier.

Only a slimline PSU is an adequate substitute. Block of ATX power SUPPLY standard does not fit into the business slimline PC.

  • Pavilion Slimline s7320n: Pavilion Slimline s7320n - compatible Win10? Any necessary changes?

My friend has an HP Pavilion Slimline s7320n PC, running WIndows XP, 32-bit.

It has 1 GB of RAM.

    Direct X 9

    Celeron M 1.6GHz

I intend to help to upgrade memory to 2 GB. Will it do anything else before you install Win10? Are there any known issues with this box and Win10?

This system has no recommended configuration for Windows 10 as showin in the following link:

    http://WWW8.HP.com/us/en/ad/windows_10/not_tested.html?JumpID=cp_r163_us/en/pc_cons/win10/update/Findmyproduct

I would not recommend Windows 10 on it. In addition, all components could not get the drivers needed to run on Windows 10.

  • Departure of superelevation for the S5 - 1140d HP Pavilion Slimline series but has 5 amberlight with beeps

    HP Pavilion Slimline series S5 - 1140d

    Windows 7

    No error message.
Has been changing my CPU to a new location, after move when I tried, the monitor shows nothing, but the cpu fan is running, however, the light to the central unit began with blue, then changes to light amber with beeps for 5 times followed by a pause and then the beep and light orange continues for 5 times again. I tried out the RAM and putting the back but it's still the same. Someone has an idea is coz the materials have been damaged or loose? My CPU is probably 11 months + old you.

    CN, welcome to the forum.

I suggest start by checking all the connections inside and out of the case.  It could be as simple as a loose connection.

The beeps are called the BIOS beep codes.  Here's a guide to help you diagnose the problem:

    http://support.HP.com/us-en/document/bph07107

There is a section at the bottom of the page that lists the Beep Codes for different brands of BIOS.

  • Satellite NB10T: Want to install Win 7 but cannot change the UEFI in MSC mode

    Hello

I know that it isn't the best article at the post office, but there is no instance void for my computer (Satellite NB10T) series and this problem is bound to win 8
I'm stuck at the moment: I disentailed 8 victory because I want to go back to 7

    I am aware of
    http://APS2.toshiba-tro.de/KB0/TSB2C03F80002R01.htm
The problem is that I did not mode Boot under advanced system configuration option; the only thing I can do is enable or disable secure under the Security tab, startup mode which isn't enough

I also added a supervisor password. It adds a clear keys for secure boot option, but still nothing on the Advanced tab to move to the Csm.
Clearing keys does not work too.

I tried to boot multiple linux distro and win7 on usb bootable (theses work on other computers), but no luck. Boot order usb first value of course).
    What can I do?

Edit: will put some pictures of the uefi

You posted the screenshots of the configuration of Toshiba utility.
The boot mode must be changed in the BIOS settings.

To access the BIOS of the laptop must be turned off.
Then put the unit BUTTON and press F2 to enter the BIOS.

In the BIOS, you will find the necessary options: secure boot must be disabled and the UEFI mode must be changed to MSC mode

  • Pavilion Slimline: upgrade to MS10

I upgraded to MS10 and now my graphics (JUA190) does not work.  I was told that HP does not support the new driver to get my card to work.  I bought this computer before 2013.  This HP can be upgraded to accept the new adapter?  Currently, my Manager shows the basic graphics card.  How to add or change this, if I can.

    Golf buddy

    golfingbuddy

    Thanks for providing the info.

I wish I had some good news for you, but I did not.

HP does not provide more recent than Win7 for your PC drivers, so there is no updated HP driver to fix the problem.

Here is the link to the page of the drivers for your PC: http://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/HP-Pavilion-Slimline-s5500-Desktop-PC-series/4162194/model/4206331

To see the drivers for Win7, click change and select Win7 in the menu drop-down.

You MIGHT be able to install the video drivers Win7 using compatibility mode: http://www.windows10forums.com/articles/compatibility-mode.7/

    Good luck

  • Re: Satellite C850 and UEFI BIOS settings

    I have laptop Satellite C850 - 1 2 with Windows 8.1

When I boot, it shows a toshiba logo, not the original flag 8 Windows. It is not so much a problem, but I can't change because the parameter is blocked within the parameters of the UEFI. How can I change this?

I already tried to change through the windows in different ways, but each time it will change the UEFI!

    Help?

To be honest I don't know what to do, you mean with blocked settings, but it can be changed in the BIOS settings.
What you need is to make complete OS stop http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/TSB2B03EY0002R01.htm and after having done that, you can restart the laptop and enter the BIOS (try F12) settings and then you can change all the settings of the BIOS.

  • Can I put the Pavilion Slimline 180 Watt power supply to a 300 Watt PSU

    Of course, you can!

Here is an informational videoabout the possibilities of upgrading your slimline WHAT PSU found on YouTube.  A comparison of three power supplies, including the owner HP PSU and a (two video and CPU) stress test and comparison of noise is shown during the video.

Be aware that some, but not all, of the PSU, upgrades require a simple and light your PSU slimline support change. Change depends on the power supply model chosen for the upgrade.

Purchase an adaptor molex as HP UPE is necessary for the Slimlines using a power supply with the format owners microfit ATX 24 pin, as well as the standard for the HTPC power supply ATX 20 pin format.

Upgrade your power supply at a higher power will not damage your motherboard. A power supply will provide only so much power that is required of him by the mother and peripheral card up to the nominal power of the installed PSU.

It is for those who wondered how to work around the limitation of the low power 180 Watt power supply that most Pavilion Slimline PCs come with the Assembly. With a power SUPPLY improved, more memory and a graphics card discrete, including support (it is a requirement) your Slimline can be your gaming PC.

Selecting a graphics card is another topic. Not all graphics cards can hold in the case of a slimline. It takes a low profile video card. They are available for purchase online.
