HP Pavilion t770.uk: SECOND HARD drive IS NOT SHOWING in DISK MANAGEMENT

I fitted a new HDD in my desktop Pavilion PC second, and the device appears in the DEVICE MANAGER and the BIOS. However, the second HDD does not appear in DISK MANAGEMENT and so I can't initialize it or return a drive letter. The power and serial data cables are OK. I also tried a SMART scan to check the problem. A little SMART hard drive test should take about one minute, but after 10 minutes, it's still a test on the HARD drive. The drive is defective?

It seems that the resolution has been set to a low value until the operating system executes the features of the screen and the graphics card.  The boxes on the anouncement screens are larger on low reslution settings.   Windows XP is not as alert as the Windows 7 operating system, but he eventually came around.

I'm happy that everything is good now.

  • HP Pavilion dv7-4180ea second hard drive

I recently bought a HP Pavilion dv7-4180ea (XE274EA #ABU). One of the reasons why I chose this laptop was because it was announced as being able to have two hard drives.

When I open the HDD I discovered that it there is no way to install a second hard drive, because the cable and the caddy is missing.

Anyone know the part number for it? The necessary cable is longer, so the previous parts for DV7 don't work with it. I called my local provider of HP, and they did not know the number of the piece, which is a little ridiculous. I probably have to pay RIP-OFF prices for something that should have been included in the laptop in the first place.

HP has not yet, but do to the sites of third parties.

    NewMode

These guys are the main suppliers of spare hard drive caddy. It will work. HP eventually will do the part available but don't hold your breath. $40 is a bit strong but not terrible. HP will charge more when they make available.

  • external hard drive is not displayed in disk utility

I have a drive (2 TB) seagate desktop external hard, while the backup time machine HDD power adapter was pulled from the socket. Now the hard drive is not recognized (both on the utility disk and office) of my mac pro book works on os x el capitan, seeing the hard drive is disabled, but I can feel and hear the operation of the hard drive. Also when I hang up my iMac running os x yosemite on the hard drive can be used and seems to work very well.

I tried to reformat the hard disk, but it has failed it is still not recognized on my mac pro book

    Hello amartnez,

Thank you for using communities of Apple Support.

From your post, I see that your drive external hard seagate was pulled from the socket during backup with Time Machine, and now it is not recognized by your MacBook Pro. I know how it is important to ensure that you are able to connect your external drive to your Mac. I have something I want you to try.

Because the external hard drive seems to be working on another computer (iMac), please try a different USB port on your MacBook Pro and see if it recognizes the external hard drive on the desktop and in disk utility. If so, that means you have a problem with this specific USB port on the MacBook Pro.

    See you soon!

    Original title: computer case

    Hi key,.

    ·        You have mapped external diving as a network drive?

I suggest to assign a drive letter of your external disk management and check if it can help solve you the problem and if you can display it in the window of the computer.

To assign or change the drive letter in disk management follow the steps below:

    a. management of open computer by clicking the theStart, clickingControl Panel by clicking system and security, , clickingAdministrative tools, and then double-click computer management. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

    b. in the left pane, clickDisk management.

    c. right click on the drive that you want to change, and then clickChange drive letter and path.

    d. do one of the following:

    ·        To assign a drive letter if it has not already received, click, click the letter you want to use, and then click OK.

    ·        To change a drive letter, clickChange, click on assign the following drive letter, click the letter you want to use, and then click OK.

    ·        To delete a letter drive, saved and then click Yes to confirm that you want to remove.

  • Qosmio X 70-A-12W-Second HARD drive is not recognized

    Hello

I have a Toshiba Qosmio X 70-A-12W and there a slot open for an extra hard disk of 2.5 inches. I bought a new hard drive Toshiba, which has been installed but the laptop does not see.

    What should I do?

    Hello

I found the procedure of replacing the HARD drive in this Toshiba document:
    http://APS2.toshiba-tro.de/KB0/CRU3903II0000R01.htm

It shows the 2nd HARD drive slot but very important is a fact: the hard drive is recognized in the BIOS?
Go to BIOS and check the first page of the BIOS. Generally if an upgrade is possible, the 2nd HARD drive must be in the BIOS (first page containing all the details such as the name and size).
In case the disk HARD isn't in the list, you need to check if the new HARD drive is OK (test it in the first slot of HDD).

In some cases these updates could not be possible lack of HARD disk controller.

  • HARD drive internal not recognized by Device Manager.

I've been trolling these forums for the last few days in search of some answers, but nothing seems to get close to my problem.

First basic info. Dell Inspirion D630 laptop computer Windows XP Prof SP3. Hardware config: 120 GB drive HARD internal, DVD player, 2 GB of memory. Pretty basic configuration. No hardware changes have been made.

Here's the senerio problem. Notebook PC starts without any problems, but while XP is loading all the services I get error that meet "Generic Host Process for Win32 services has encountered a problem and needs to close...". ', the error msg and the laptop is pretty useless at the moment (explorer, Task Manager, etc.) does not run. I then close the laptop and can start in "safe mode", but pass messages "the instruction at 001ba6ae tried to access memory at the location 000000, the memory could not be written" every few minutes. But I can access Explorer, Task Manager, etc.. Thought may have viruses or malicious and software ran Mcafee several times and came back clean everytime. Could not MalwareBytes to run, but was able to run GMER (it was suggested on the forums). There is no report on any specific malware, but it showed that several sectors on the HARD disk showed malware like behavior. But he also showed that he could not detect the hard drive (showed the HKLM...\CurrentControlSet\ info for the reader, he tried to find). So long story even longer, made a few inquiries via these forums as determined as SVCHOST. EXE was not while trying to run "winmgmt. Also discovered was that the Device Manager and Storage Manager does not show the Hard Drive AT ALL. They do not show the DVD player and if I install a USB they show, but they show that the Disk 0 in the lists. (If installed USB watch drive 0, another DVD wise shows disk 0). If I open Windows Explorer, it shows the drive c: hard, I can access all the files on the disk without problem. If I show the 'properties' for the reader, it indicates the correct used/unused space for the reader. If I click on the "Hardware" tab, the only one listed is the DVD player.

So I know a bit what is the problem, I just do not know what to do to FIX IT. other that my last resort resort which would be to do a full clean install of windows. Any suggestions?

Sorry for the long winded question, but I wanted to provide as much information as possible.

    See you soon.

  • Install the Second hard drive on the HP Pavilion DV7-4270us laptop

    Hello

My laptop has a space for a second hard drive, but not of connectors. I use Windows 7 Pro 64 bit and I would like to add a second drive in this niche. My main drive is 1 TB and I'm running out of room. I am currently using a 1 to external but it is cumbersome when you travel. What should I do to use the second drive?

    TIA,

  • HP Pavilion DV7 - 4183CL: what HARD drive can I install in a HP Pavilion DV7 - 4183CL?

    Hi all

Realized that my DV7 - 4183CL has an empty HARD disk can you please suggest what tech HARD drive config do I add? Thanks in advance.

It will take any hard disk 2.5 inch wide portable SATA. The real issue is the amount of space that you want to add, and what is your budget? The second hard drive is not bootable, so it's purely a place to store files. 500 GB drives are cheap and 500 gigs is a ton of space for music, photos, movies, even.

You're going to need a second hard drive enclosure and the connector:

  • External hard drive USB, not received a drive letter in Vista 64-Bit

I do not use my BeyondMicro 160 G external hard drive a lot just to make occasional backups, well this time was different.  I have powered the drive, plugged the USB cable into my PC and normal tone was heard, but NO drive letter is assigned to the drive.  In fact I couldn't find anywhere in my computer that the unit was even detected.  I Visa Ultimate 64-bit, I tried to uninstall the drivers in the Device Manager and rebooted and still no external drive, any suggestions?
