HP ProtectTools error checking to update

Hello

I have a 2560p EliteBook and - however large ProtectTools is - I use it. But whenever I go to Administration-> central management-> Messages and updates and click 'Check now', I get an error message from Flexera/InstallShield Software Manager who:

"The product code is not saved on the server or is not valid. Contact the administrator of your FLEXnet Connect account".

This brings me once more to the conclusion that HP should be prohibited in any writing software! How can possibly count us on this particular app draw he watched for 3 years (the copyright is 1997-2009).

I use the last ProtectTools - 6.06.1004.

Fixed with latest HP ProtectTools.

  • Satellite L750 - BIOS update failed with error check

    Hello

Update the BIOS to the L750 failled with an ERROR "CHECK". I downloaded the update to the BIOS again and got the same error.

I wanted to submit a support ticket to do support technical namely that the BIOS update does not work, but low and behold, the creator of support ticket does not accept my model number/number combination.

Thus, apart from picking up the phone, how can I get a message to Toshiba?

    See you soon

    Hey Buddy,

May I ask why you are trying to update the BIOS? Do you have questions?

As you probably know updated BIOS is always somewhat risky because it rewrites the ROM module and if anything goes not the ROM module can be destroyed and you are not able to start the computer. So this update should be made only if you have problems with the computer, otherwise forget it please.

Remember: never touch a running system! ;)

    Hello drjoe_anzaldua,

Thanks for posting on the Microsoft Answers forum.

Usually the "Windows is unable to Check For Updates" error message produced always of the blocker window update connection attempt.

    1. first of all, please check that there is no any third-party firewall preventing Windows Update to communicate with "update.microsoft.com.

    2. check if Windows Firewall is blocking the update of Windows.

Please see the following article for connection errors:

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/836941

836941. you may encounter temporary connection errors when you use Windows Update or Microsoft Update to install updates

After following the steps of troubleshooting in the article, if you still get an error message, thanks for posting again so that we can help you.

  • an error occurred when checking for updates.

error occurred is all I ever get when I use the Help toolbar selection, "check for updates".

    Hello

    1. do you have specific error codes with the message?

    2. are you referring to the Windows updates?

Follow the steps and check if that helps.

    Step 1:

Troubleshooting of Windows update run and check if this is useful.

    Step 2:

There are many reasons where the windows updates to date do not settle, most of it is caused by security software.
Temporarily disable any security software and then try to install the update, follow the steps mentioned below

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/turn-Windows-Firewall-on-or-off

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/disable-antivirus-software

Note: Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you should not disable your antivirus software. If you do not disable temporarily to install other software, you must reactivate as soon as you are finished. If you are connected to the Internet or a network during the time that your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.

  • Windows cannot check the updates - C800044E error code

    Hello

Since yesterday, I get a notification icon in the taskbar indicating that windows cannot check the updates. If I click on the icon and then click on the button "check for updates" in the new window, the search end reports that an error has occurred and the error code is C800044E. This happens every time after the computer starts and when I try to manually check for updates.

The operating system is Windows Vista Home Premium 32 bit with OEM license.

I already googled for this error code, but none of the suggestions found during the search worked. Mode by default with no results, I installed the MicrosoftFixit50202 (have not tried yet aggressive mode). I ran the malware Microsoft Windows (without threats found) removal tool. I downloaded and installed manually the KB947821 update for vista, also without results.

The last successful update is dated more than a month previously, and I assume that at the same time, some important updates may appear. Can someone help me with this problem?

I've already solved the problem by using the system restore (I used a restore enjoyed a week point).

I'll answer your questions anyway, in which case this may help solve one similar problem to others:

    1 Vista SP2 (all updates important/critical installed as of October 1, 2010)

    2. Eset NOD32 antivirus/antispyware with current subscription. No third-party firewall (just the windows firewall).

3-4. I have never installed a Norton or McAfee application on this computer, but I'm not sure if a trial version of Norton AV is pre-installed with this computer (if it did, I removed it when I originally set up the computer - almost 3 years ago).

  • Vista - Error Code: 0 X 80070426 (impossible to check the updates)

I have a Dell Inspiron 1400 with Windows Vista. When I am invited to the 'check for updates now' I get a message saying "error found: Code 0 x 80070426"

Along with this, when I click on Control Panel, it appears for about 5 seconds then goes off and won't open unless in safe mode. I also have an HP printer and when the error message started works do not, the printer refused to print well, saying: "the default settings must be reset."

    Help, please!

    Hello Irfan,

Thanks again for your response. Since your last I discovered through my system status (Control Panel), I wrote that my product ID and the Windows 7 activation status not available. So I followed instuctions to help and microsoft support to activate.  Yet once, I got the error code D0000034 as before with the problem of update. However, I was given the opportunity to phone, but received no phone #. I bought the DVD of Windows 7 and installed on the PC that was custom built for me.  On the site Web microsoft help and support, I was asked for the product ID, which according to them is a # 20 numbers.  Not the only one, I have is the product key which is one 25-alpha-numeric.  I tried to enter only and does not pass.  This is why I say that I can pay for help since I did not ' have the product ID.  Maybe it isn't your area of expertise, Irfan, but I was hoping... I re - install windows on last April when I got in trouble and probably did not re - activate? What do you think?  If you can get back on track, I would be very grateful and thank you once again to be a big help!

Please ignore above request. I have since re-activated Windows and the problem was solved with technical assistance telephone and thank you again for your help, Irfan. Also thanks to all the people answering the phone at microsoft. The experience I had was really a pleasure. I wasn't expecting such an attitude courteous and professional.

    Keep up the good work,
