• SCAM TO RENEW THE WINDOWS XP?

  I received a call from www.curingyourpc.com, saying that I needed to update my WINDOWS security, and that I had to immediately before the new year.  I didn't understand what they were trying to tell me, but I think they said I'm unprotected now and must renew my warranty.

  I can't believe I have to pay to have it renewed (about $90 for 6 months, $135 for a year...), I have to do right now, and that my only warning came from a phone call.  (I assumed I would get messages on my computer telling me that I needed a such update.)

  (How to check if my windows warranty has expired?  I could check my INFORMATION SYSTEM but found nothing about it)

  I received a phone call from someone claiming to work for windows. She said I had a lot of things and viruses on my computer and my computer works more slowly usual I foolishly believed her, despite having norton antivirus 360.
  I tried all the other posts and like them they asked me to put a code 6 digit via logmein123.com or something like that and had access to my computer.
  I was watching all the so-called "technician" was and he has downloaded a program advanced spyware, to show me all the problems I had with my computer and then conducted an audit of the cmd which showed that my windows software guarantee was exhausted, and for him to solve these problems, I had to renew the software warranty.
  I found it quite odd, as well as on the audit of the guaranteed cmd was spelled 'guarantee' and she kept insisting on the fact that I renew the law at this time there. Finally she gave me a phone number to call him back on.
  Now, after seeing this site, I think it was a scam. I got my dads cancelled card, but I will keep an eye on my own bank account. My main concern is that potentially can they do with the little information that I give to myself which was my full name, email address and mobile phone number and no matter where or who can I report this incident?  Also could they have downloaded spyware or viruses at the time, they had access? I tried the site police report puts fraud but they do not specifically ask about myself and about what details have been taken.
  I am particularly concerned that they could use my name and hack my email address. One last question, is that I tried to do a system restore to put the computer to a previous period of time, but whenever I tried it said that it did not work. I have to restart the whole windows vista for nine?

  If someone calls you to start something like this (technology based or not) – chances are it of a scam. Companies best-known do not make cold calls or pretend to know what is the problem with your system until I talk with you in detail or seen.

  Format your system (factory default restore).  How to do this depends on the system and gave you the methods OEM (computer manufacturer).  You can then restore your data from a backup.

  Change all your passwords (online and offline).  I recommend 15 + characters made up of at least three of these four things: uppercase letters (A, B, c...), lowercase letters (a, b, c...), numbers (1, 2, 3...) and symbols (!, #, $, &...)

  Contact all your financial institutions and warn them that you may have been scammed - ask them to score your accounts to help prevent/monitor out of the ordinary transactions.

  Batteries are normally classified as consumables and generally covered only for 1 year standard regardless of warranty for the system.

  The warranty will only be for the rest of the equipment of systems; Reference Dell will replace for example, motherboard, hard drive, processor, screen, charger if they fail. These can be expensive for the user to the source and manually replace.

  In 2009, I bought a computer from studio with Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit.  My warranty just expired, not too long ago, now my system is messed up, and I can't get a fix without a guarantee.  I can't figure out how to repair my system, and I can't simply download a 64-bit reinstall, because (long story) my system now has 32-bit windows running. (It was originally 64 bit).  The support line told me to call the hardware Department, but I can't find a number for them anywhere.  They said that they could replace the disk, if I bought another warranty plan, but the $250 was too much money for me.  Another person told me that I could just buy the CD for $15.  Can someone clear this up for me?

  There should be no problem, as long as you use a single wireless device. If you want a connection wi - fi and cellular iPad, the guarantee would be specific to the United States. A wi - fi connection must have the guarantee honoured in India. This question may be better providers allowed in India.

• MacBook Pro 2014 - failure of the graphics card for the 2nd time in 2 years - no guarantee

  end of 2014, I bought a new 13 inch Retina Display MacBook Pro mid 2014 model (A1502, EMC2875). A few months later, the graphics card has failed - no obvious reason. Apple replaced. Now, the graphics card has not yet. Still, the mac worked perfectly well (no overheating of the noise, nothing) and all of a sudden - no understandable reason or external actions, the graphics card has failed. Unfortunately, I do not have a guarantee of more. At least, I can access my documents by connecting two Macs, so I hope that the material is not affected.

  My model (1502) apparently only has a single integrated graphics processor.

  My questions:

  • After some research, I discovered that Apple used to have these problems with the 2011 edition. They have implemented a replacement program. Does anyone know sth on this subject?
  • What graphics card would you recommend? How much such a graphics card? Where could I buy a cheap?

  Of course, I don't want to reuse the same type - guess I don't have to explain how @* #&! I'm after two times the same problem within two years after the purchase of a brand new MacBook Pro...

  -As you say, your Mac model uses the graphics processor integrated in the CPU chip. So, there are ios no replacement possible. The CPU is soldered to the logic board

  -The problem with the 2011 MacBook Pro was with the discreet Nvidia, not the graphics unit integrated in the CPU graphics unit.

  The warranty of the iPhone is not and has never been international. 'Exception', if you want to call it that, is phones purchased in the EU, which is considered to be a single country for the purposes of warranty and service.

  No idea how Brexit will affect this. I've not seen or heard any statement from Apple about this yet.
