  • New Pavilion dv7, HP TrueVision HD webcam not detected

Just bought my new Pavilion dv7, and when I run the Cam software, it tells me that my HP TrueVision HD webcam is not detected. I tried this for a few days, at a point when I was trying to play with the settings you Cam, webcam light on for aprox. 2 seconds and then died again, since then, it won't let me even in the settings of YouCam.

Right now I am more and more convinced that it is because of my laptop being assembled outside the United States. Need a fix for it immediately.

    Hi guys,.

I had the same problem with a HP Pavilion dv7-6e22b. I read on a short cable inside the screen.
I found the post on the way in which the display is connected. It's an older model but I was curious to know how to remove the cover of the machine. It contains 2 screws (that I didn't have to remove to access the camera) just be causious does not break the bevel.

    http://www.insidemylaptop.com/remove-LCD-screen-inverter-Board-HP-Pavilion-dv7-notebook/

It is an older model in the new model, the connector of the webcam is located directly under the lens of the webcam itself.
I pressed connector you slightly. And suddenly I hear a USB all OFA linking sound. After that my device manager showed a "device-image", and the software work directly.

I jump it will solve your problems. I say read all messages and do not find a solution to the driver or software and after seeing the connector, I think it's an effort of poor deisgn by using short cables and small connectors.

    good luck to all!

  • laptop HP envy 17 TS: windows driver 10 hp truevision hd for youcam?

I see I'm not the only one with this problem.  Win 10 update seems to have deleted the driver for my webcam.  I tried to reinstall youcam, no luck.  Has anyone fixed this yet?

Yay!   Solved!   I have a HP Envy touch screen.  He was originally with victory 8.1 and some delivered the software, which included 6 Youcam, the software to use the built in HP Truevision webcam.  I have not upgraded to win10 no problem.  Then I started having problems with my Start menu and programs it does not.  I could do a click on a few of them, but just click on them to open them did nothing.  I set up with it for a little while and then get frustrated enough to reinstall windows.  I think that I have the place in improved, or refresh - one who starts as new windows and records everything you had in the Windows.Old folder.   When I did this, all my software group has been deleted, including Youcam.   A few weeks later my Start menu stop working again and I had to do the win10 reinstall again.  I don't know what option I did the installation with the second time, but my file to win.old has now disappeared, as well as all the myself programs installed.  Now the webcam did not work.  I downloaded another version of Youcam - my version of software was not free to download and I wasn't about to pay for something that was initially provided with my computer for free, and I had no idea of what I could do or who to call to do not have to pay for it again.  I think it was 2 Youcam.   It was impossible to capture images.  The little light next to the camera, indicating that he was working, so I was sure that it was not a hardware problem.  When I looked in the settings I coulkd see she was using the HP Truevision webcam.  It just did not work.  I tried to make updates, Win10 and Cyberlink.  I uninstalled the webcam, reinstalled, tried to roll back the driver, all that jazz. That didn't fix it.  I looked on the Forum and found other people had similar issues, but I saw none that was remidied it.  Something about the embedded version of Youcam seems vital for the webcam not work at all.   I scoured my hard drive and found in my Program Files (x 86), my Cyberlink folder still had a Youcam6 record.  And the .exe program!   I ran it... and he did the same error "unable to capture.    I think that's when I posted in the forums here.  I was frustrated and doesn't bother with it more until yesterday.  I decided to try once more.   I ran Youcam6 (had to go again in Progran files (x 86) to do, but this time, I made a shortcut).  Same mistake.  I went into the Device Manager and uninstalled the Hp Truevision webcam.  Ran Youcam yet again, no camera detected.  With Youcam always on I went back to the Device Manager and search for new devices and immediately returned to the Youcam window and now it says "we have detected you have Hp truevision webcam, you want to use this device?  I clicked on ok, the box of image capture flashed different colors for a second, then was filled with the image of the room behind me and myself.  It worked!   Just in time, too.   My next idea was to see if drop shot it would help.

So since when you bought it-the webcam never worked? If that were the case then you should have returned or a replacement when you discovered it? Now if it concerns the guarantee then you will have to pay for repair or find the part and replace the webcam yourself or have the computer shop to do.

  • HP ENVY m6-1350sf Notebook PC: TrueVision HD is not installed/detected

I have the HP Envy m6-1350sf.  The TrueVision HD webcam that is built in has stopped working.  I updated the BIOS to F - 36, YouCam version 7 upgrade (I see that the virtual driver is listed in Device Manager).  I checked the bios settings.  I know that the cam worked a while back when the Win8.1, but I've noticed problems with software such as Google hangouts, where the video would freeze.  It stopped working before the upgrade to Windows 10.  The upgrade has apparently not helped issues.

I managed to 'somehow' get the cam to work during the test on some live streaming (software Opensource Broadcast).  After testing the software, the device has stopped working again.

Image devices is NOT listed in Device Manager, and thusly TrueVision HD should not be seen.  The only thing I can find is under 'Sound, video and game controllers' where is the version of Cyberlink Webcam 7 virtual driver.  Even with YouCam 5 installed before the upgrade, the original driver was shown with the same situation again.

When I click on the "Show/Hide Action pane', then select 'Other Actions' to reveal hidden items, image devices is still NOT listed.  I do see it 2 hours before this announcement, but I tried to uninstall, and then reinstall via search machines.  He can not find.

However, there is a list for "unknown USB Device (peripheral Descripter request Failed)."  I have uninstalled/reboot/re-installed several times with different installation procedures and uninstalling various programs.  I'm virus and malware free.  I ran scans to achieve this.

I'm to the point that I've done all I can do and I'm afraid that all that is left is that I buy an external webcam.

    Ho both

the first solution is to uninstall the graphics driver restart and install a graphics windows 10 driver

second solution install the new drivers for YouCam

  • HP Truevision HD camera does not

Today, on my laptop HP Pavillion 15-n278sa, I wanted to take a picture using its internal camera (HP Truevision HD). I went on the camera of 8.1 of Windows application, and he said "it seems that something is wrong with your camera. Visit the Web site of the manufacturer for troubleshooting information. "I also tried the Cyberlink Youcam application but no different.

I searched the web and tried everything. I tried updating the driver, installation of a driver generic, uninstall and reinstall the driver - but no luck. I followed these instructions as well.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Hello JamaicanBacon,

    Welcome to the HP Forums!

I understand that the webcam on your laptop is not working. I will do my best to help! To start, please try all the suggestions in this document: Webcam troubleshooting (Windows 8)

If this does not help, then here's something else you can try and it should solve the problem:

    1. go into Device Manager, then imaging devices.

    2. right click on the webcam and select "Uninstall".

    3. restart the computer. This will force the driver for the webcam to be reinstalled.

Please try these steps and let me know what happens. Thank you and have a great day!

  • Slow FPS for HP TrueVision HD Webcam

My laptop is a HP Pavilion dv6 Notebook PC, product number: LM720AV.

Using the video capture software pre-installed, I received a really fuzzy, slow video. Thinking it was the software, I downloaded a free program that has had the same result - the freeware actually clocked the pace at 1-3 frames per second.

Thinking that maybe it was an old driver, I tried to update through my device manager. Unfortunately, who has not solved the problem, as the driver - which is be CyberLink (Cyberlink Webcam virtual driver) - has proved to be up to date. When you ask a friend who also has a fairly new HP laptop on this subject, I found that his old webcam 'HP TrueVision"captured video at around 30 FPS.

Surely the most recent version "HD" of this impossible webcam of poorer quality than the previous version, could? Is it possible for me to use Skype and record video at a higher rate? Any help to solve this problem is highly appreciated.

Thanks a lot, RobJeffersonand sanjeevkafle. Rob for the original response and sanjeev for help Visual theadded!

Quick Note: I found this just tick the box of 'Auto' for the exhibition before turning off the 'low backlight Compensation' - are both on the "Camera Control" tab - will solve the problem. the other options can be adjusted at your convenience. After turning off the low light Compensation, YouCam display has become almost black for me, but after restarting the software, I found that the photo adjusted to the light and works great.

Again, thank yout to RobJefferson and sanjeevkafle. Well done to you two.

  • How can I activate my HP TrueVision webcam (HP Envy dv7;) Windows 8)

Really, I'm losing my patience here. My laptop is brand new. I remember the first time I started it, I clicked on CyberLink YouCam and the machine worked. I even took a picture with her.

Since then, I try to activate the webcam and it doesn't work. I wanted to video chat on Skype but the webcam was not enabled, there is no choice of webcam.

I've read that if you go on Facebook and click 'Change your profile picture' and then 'take a picture' it activates the webcam, but not in my case.

When I run CyberLink YouCam, it says that he has not found webcam and if I activate it if I a.

So here's my question: how to turn on the webcam? Please, give me the instructions on how it works. What I have to press the key combination or whatever.

I'm the HP dv7-7202eg with Windows 8. Bought and used in Austria, if that information makes a difference :-)

If the webcam was working before, it may be "stuck".  If this is the case, then a reset can throw everything is free and you'll be "back in business" in a few minutes.  If the reset does not fix it, there are a few more options.  Stop when it works.

Downstairs is a Help Guide that goes over the tests and the options you have available on the software to help you solve the problem.

This is a whole new system. If all else fails, please do call HP and ask for help!  Just because the webcam worked before doesn't mean it works now.  These webcams little are fragile and they can break - the wires are tiny and they can be crushed, twisted or broken at any time.  If the tenacious webcam does not work, call HP and ask for help.  Something may have been missed or nit can be broken!

    Contact HP

    Try this simple Reset:

    OR

Laptops - use Hard Reset to solve Hardware and Software issues - removable battery

Webcam is dead.  During the launch of software or application, the light (hardware access) but will immediately switch with loop No.-camera photo/camera.

    It does NOT work.

Try opening Windows camera - and I can look at device manager freak out and flash camera, without camera, camera, no camera... over and over.  If I turn off the device, then the application stops sending looping error messages and said without a camera. (yes I know I disabled it, but the loop tells me that it is a specific driver problem).

I uninstalled the device, permis allowed Windows to detect, yet install base driver. Now instead of HP TrueVision HD, in Device Manager it detects USB video device.

I visited every thread on this forum, visited each Microsoft talked to YouCam, thread AND to HP, I was told to factory reset my laptop, but after 4 times by HP USB restore factory reset did not work.  I didn't want to send in my laptop, it is a driver issue, which is quite clear.

Alternatively, you can try if you are looking for the driver and software, here are two methods.
    1) HP Support Assistant
    2) Drivers of laptop HP 15-r007tx , by using the option scan from this page.

Please let me know if the above has been able to help you.
Thanks for posting on the HP Forums.

  • (HP TrueVision HD) webcam is not detected in dv6-6179er.

After the installation of Windows 7 Ultimate 64 on my dv6-6179er I expericed integrated WebCam (HP TrueVision HD) cannot be set. I tried to implement the package of drivers from the official site, but it was not useful.

Unfortunately, I wasn't able to find a specific driver for the WebCam for dv6-6179er.

    Device Manager.

    Thank you!

If your laptop is still under warranty (standard warranty is one year) then I suggest you to contact HP for warranty repair. In other words, unless you choose to open it on your own to reinsert the conector webcam, you did all you can do.

    Best regards

  • HP TrueVision HD webcam does not work on HP Pavilion dv6-6179er Entertainment Notebook PC

Hi, my HP TrueVision HD webcam stopped working a week ago. My laptop is HP Pavilion dv6-6179er Entertainment Notebook PC series. Its model number is QA398EA. Product number: QA398EA #ACB. Operating system is Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit Service Pack 1. When the webcam did not work on my Skype I downloaded Youcam, but it does not detect the camera as well. Thus, neither Skype nor Youcam can see the camera on my laptop. When I looked through the Device Manager, it appeared that the imaging devices category had disappeared from the Device Manager list. I tried for portable stop, remove the battery and press the power button for 10 seconds, as has been noted in this web site. However, imaging devices has not appeared. When I click Add legacy hardware (in the Device Manager Action menu) imaging devices appear in the list. However, computer does not detect the TrueVision HD driver, it detects some other driver out of place and combine it with imaging device. Looks like one of the two options: either driver webcam has been removed from the computer or a hardware problem with the camera. Is it possible that I can download driver HP TrueVision HD camera in my computer to see if it is a driver problem or hardware? Appreciate your help in advance. Thank you.

    Rufat

    Hi Sophie,.

The generic Webcam driver is part of the operating system and not available for download. Looks like it's a hardware problem with the Webcam. I would recommend that you ask a local technician or call HP. You can reach HP Total Care at 1-800-474-6836 in North America or Start here if you live outside of North America.

    Thank you
