HP5540: HP 5540 paper keep poping up

I got paper inside the printer, but it often pop up 'Out of Paper' when I print A4. And I am not able to print 6 "x 4" photo at all. " I'm on HP photo paper & it just do not print & keep popping - up 'on paper. "

I just bought this printer in 4 months...

I see that you receive an "Out of Paper" error on your printer to All - in - One HP ENVY 5540. I'd be happy to see this with you and don't forget to come back to this thread and check "Accept as Solution", if I have successfully helped solve you the problem. There could be a problem with the paper, paper tray sensor or the way the paper is loaded in the tray.

I would like to do a hard reset to see if that will solve the problem.

  1. Let the printer and disconnect the printer cable and the wall socket for 60 seconds.
  2. Reconnect the power cable to the output of the printer and the wall, and not a surge protector. This ensures that the printer is full on and can help this situation.
  3. Make sure that the printer is connected directly to a wall outlet (do not use a bar or a surge protector).

If the problem persists, follow the steps in this guide:

NOTE: Make sure that you load photo paper into the correct paper tray: 102 x 152 mm (4.0 x 6.0 in) ferry Photo. A4: 210 x 297 mm (8.3 x 11.7 inches), main feeder.

    Try going to tools | Options in OE and set it as default value for it.  Also in Internet Explorer go to tools | Internet Options | Programs and set as default OE it as well, or click the reset web settings button, if it is present.

    This could be the result of malware, or it could be a mistake with service pack 2.

    Download, update and perform a quick scan with Malwarebytes. If there is no threat detected then you know that the issue is probably with sp2. Nevertheless, you need to update to sp3. Make sure that the system is also a free malware first.

    If you able to boot to the desktop, follow these steps: check to see if it helps
