HP990Cse connection via print sever in Windows 7 64 bit

I want to install drivers for a printer HP990Cse that is connected through a print server built into my WD Netcenter network drive. Windows 7 (64-bit) can find the printer, but not the driver. In addition, this printer is not in the list provided in Windows. He asked that the location of the driver files (Browse button), however, I am unable to download driver from the HP website files. All they have is an Assistant to allow the connection via USB or ask the user to just plug the printer on Windows and that it will give the driver. I'm not connect via the USB port, so I don't know what to do.

When you install a Brother printer, I have had no problems since I could download the driver files, place them in a folder and then point Windows to this folder. Where can I get the driver of this printer files or what procedure should I use to install this printer?

Thank you

I'll answer this question myself in the interest of all those who might find themselves in this position. After some advice I found on the Internet. I did the following:

  1. I installed the printer as a local printer on the USB port allowing Windows to provide the driver. He worked to find plugged into a USB port.
  2. I then backed up the printer to the print server in the NetCenter.
  3. Then, I went to the driver on the ports tab and added a new port with the network printer path. For example \\printer_server_name\printers\DESKJET-990C.

It did not work, however. So I went the network and sharing Center and selected the option to view computers and devices which shows print server. I double clicked on the print server, which then displays the connected printer. I double click on the printer to connect to it. I got a message saying that the driver is not found. I clicked on OK to install the driver. When the list of drivers appeared, I have selected HP in the left column and guess what? The 990C printer driver and a bunch of HP printer drivers more have been listed. I chose the 990c and everything worked fine.

I don't know if the installation of the printer locally caused Windows fill the list with several drivers of HP, but it seems like if she did because these drivers were not in the list before.

HP Support & drivers - go to the site Web and download/install the drivers and utilities for Vista 32 bit HP.
    http://welcome.HP.com/country/us/en/support_task.html

Share the printer on the Windows 7 computer. Go to the Vista machine, then install the drivers you downloaded. The printer must be collected during the installation procedure. If this isn't the case, install the drivers and then use the Add Printer Wizard. In some cases, printers must be installed as local printers. If the regular installation does not see the printer:

Go to the Windows 7 machine. Note the name of the computer that you will get to the control panel > system > computer name. Now in the Panel, go to the printers. Find the printer in question, right-click, and then click Properties. Note the name of the share. Of course you must have already set up file sharing / print on all computers involved and share the printer.

Now go to the machine Vista, control panel > printers > add printer

Click Add a local printer. Click on create a new port. The default value in the drop-down list box is Local Port. Don't change that. Click Next. A dialog box appears for you request that you enter a port name. Type in the \\FullComputername\SharedPrintername

ex: \\mycomputer\HPDJ (that's why you wrote the names of computer and printer in the first step)

Click Next. In the manufacturers list, select the correct printer manufacturer and the correct printer model in the Printers list. Under "do you want to use this printer as default printer select"Yes"(if you do!). and click Next. When asked to print a test page, select 'Yes', then finish.

  • Problems connection Canon SX280 WiFi for Windows 7 (64-bit)

I hope someone can help me.

I recently bought a Canon SX280HS that has possibilities of wifi, and I'm having a problem connecting to my laptop.     I use a laptop Dell Inspiron N7110 running Windows 7 (64-bit).   It connects to the internet and a printer wireless via a pretty new without and problems at all Netgear wifi router.    This laptop also has Intel (R) My Wifi Technology, and I can access the utility to it via the control panel.

After installing wifi set up the software provided with the camera, I first tried to connect the camera via the Netgear router.   After putting in the correct encryption key (I did this many, many times), he search the device, but it is never and eventually times out with a "communication error" and "device not found."

I was ready to return the camera to Amazon...

But then I tried to connect the camera using the Intel(r) my Wifi utility.   I activated the technology, put in the correct encryption key, and the cannon appears on the users list, showing its MAC address and a wifi signal strong.   The camera then sees the name of my Dell laptop, but when I try to connect it, all I get is 'connection '.  Finally, it ends with a "communication error" and "connection failed."

At this point, I find the wifi on the camera works properly because it clearly links to the Intel(r) my Wifi on my laptop.

Can someone tell me how to configure my laptop to allow the rest of the connection?     Oh, I tried this many times with my anti-virus IT and OFF and my firewall ON and OFF, and it does make a difference.

    Thanks for your help.

Had the same problem with the same device under Windows. For me, I fixed it by going to control panel > network and sharing Center > view network computers and devices (this, while the camera tries to connect to your PC. I then click with the right button on my camera icon and click "install". Also, make sure that 'file and printer sharing' are on (my PC actually invited this). Don't know if this will help, but worked for me. Can now import wireless!

    All the best,

  • How to make a shared printer on a Windows 7 64-bit machine accessible to a user on a 32-bit XP machine.

    Hello

I have two Windows machines on a private working group, old stamp. A XP 32-bit, and a 64-bit Windows 7. The Windows 7 machine has a Canon printer attached. The problem is how to give the ability to print to the shared printer on the Windows 7 machine to a user on the XP machine.

After a day of p____g about, I managed to get the feel of XP machine for the shared printer when I'm logged on two machines. But there is a problem.

When my wife connects to the XP computer (instead of me), it can not print. His account apparently can 'See' the printer and everything seems to be in order when I discover the properties of the printer, but when it prints, it fails silently. There is no error; printing seems fine, but nothing happens. This happens if I print from Word, Notepad, or even simply the test page in the printer properties.

I have another printer shared from the Windows 7 machine, and it can print on it without problem.

The big problem is that I can't follow the 'normal' procedure to add a printer to the XP computer because it tries to install the drivers and then machine claims Windows 7 is not the correct drivers. This is true because the Canon Setup is fully automated and does not provide an option to install the 32-bit drivers alongside 64-bit drivers, so that customers can download.

Sorry for the length of this post, but I am here in desperation. I lost count of the number of Web sites, I've been to, who claims to have an answer to this problem, to see any of the steps fail. Many solutions rely on the use of residential groups, which I can't do because XP does not know these (I don't think).

Any help would be much appreciated.

    Kind wishes, Patrick

Check permissions to print on the XP machine (Fortunately, you have XP Pro):

    1. Disable Simple file so sharing is not off (in Windows Explorer > tools > Folder Options > view tab > uncheck "Use Simple file sharing" - low point in the list--> OK your way out)
    2. Start > printers and faxes
    3. Right click on the printer icon and select Properties
    4. Select the Security tab

You can see who has permissions to the printer.  By default, the "Everyone" group has 'print' permission but none of the other permissions related to printing.  If you want to add a group or an individual user, click the ' Add ' button.  See the following for more information: http://www.microsoft.com/resources/documentation/windows/xp/all/proddocs/en-us/print_limit_accessw.mspx?mfr=true and the topics listed at the bottom of this page.

To determine if a user is in a group (for example, is the user who cannot print a member of the "Everyone" group), click Start, right-click my computer and select manage.

In the management console of the computer that opens, select "Local users and groups."  By double-clicking a user, you can select the "Member" tab and see what groups that user is a member.  Similarly, by double-clicking a group, you can see the members of this group.

  • Printer drivers for Windows 7 64 Bit.

Recently installed Windows 7 64 bit on my new i7 computer.    Incredibly FAST.   I use the Autodesk REVIT 3D construction modeling program.   Make a model of quality higher on my old core 2 duo would take almost an hour.   With the 64 bit on i7 with 3 GB of ram and graphics card same OS, same rendering would take a little more than 1 minute!
PROBLEM!   Cannot find 64-bit print drivers for 2 of my 3 Canon printers.   OK driver for Canon ix5000 A3 printer but no driver for Canon i865 my old BJC 5500 A2 or A4 printer bubble jet printer which is essential for my work.    Have you checked of course Canon Web site, but could not find what I need and Canon does not seem to help.   Might be there somewhere but couldn't find it.   Without printer drivers, the 64-bit system is useless.
Surprisingly ALL OTHER WORKS on the 64 bit OS.   Even some older applications of v.   I expected instead that the drivers etc would be no problem since we are told that the world is about to go soon 64 bit.
Someone there had business or relationship problems with the printer drivers for 64-bit Windows?   Any help appreciated coz I'd go 64-bit.

    Computer details:
Core i7 920 CPU on the motherboard Gigabyte GA EX58 UD4P.   3 x 1 GB Corsair xms RAM 1600.   1 TB Seagate Barracuda SATA HDD.   With the help of old graphic card Asus EN8600GTS.
Case Antec Solo.   With the help of an old power supply 450w awaiting the arrival of Antec Truepower PSU (No. Gaming) 550W.   Bought the new copy of XP Home but Windows 7 is currently experimenting and will certainly upgrade to Windows 7 when it was released.

You can try using the Vista drivers. If they do not (or do not exist), your only recourse is to get hold of the gun and see if they have plans to write drivers for these printers (or to replace the printer or the operating system). The mftr material. wrote drivers for their devices. The mftr material. is the * only * person who will do that, not the creator of the operating system that you use (Windows). All hardware drivers that come with Vista and Win7 were written by mftrs of various materials. and provided to Microsoft for inclusion. If the material mftr. no no intend to write new drivers for a specific device, then it's the end of this story. MS - MVP - Elephant Boy computers - don't panic!

The problem occurs when you perform a Wizard for easy transfer to a computer that was Symantec Endpoint Protection installed to one without him.

    Answer, copypasted:

Inspect the key mentioned above - that is of HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\services\RasMan\PPP\EAP.

In each of the number keys look something like ConfigPathBackup and its corresponding ConfigPath - there are a number of them.

For each, I deleted the original key (e.g., ConfigPath) and restored the original by renaming ConfigPathBackup to ConfigPath

For each of them, the State is now restored to her pre State Symantec - each key pointed to a Symantec location that is no longer present and by restoring the path key backs up everything was fine
