(HPE h8-1120 desktop computer) graphics card upgrade

For now, I have a desktop HPE h8-1120 and there a GT 530. I want to upgrade to a better graphics card. I'll be able to upgrade to an EVGA GTX 670? (Will adapt and everything?) If so, what food should I upgrade to?

You should be able to upgrade to a GTX 670 but first read Guide of Dave_G of selection of a discrete video card for more information on the subject. Corsair CX500, or CX600 are good choices for power supplies and are known to adapt to most cases of HP.

Please help I'm dying for a response

    Greetings,

    Seems good.

960 is 9.5 inches in length and requires a power of 400 W.

Check the clearance in the tower. Measure along the 645 to verify that you can adapt a 9.5 inch to 10-inch card in the case.

Hard drive cage can be in the way.

Check that your has a PCIe auxiliary cable as the 960 supply requires six extra pins to connect. The manufacturer will usually provide an adapter if you need. Or you can get one online.

    See you soon!

    Hello

I wanted to update my video card so I could play some of the new upcoming games (i.e. Diablo 3).  I am not computer savy, so I don't know what a good video card, and whether or not my computer can run or space for her.  I was hoping that my current hardware would be good and all I had to do was my video card.  Please advise a good videocard to upgrade to and whether or not, everything else would look good on my computer.  I was told that I may need to upgrade my diet as well.  Thanks for all the help in advance!

Please note that I expected to do this without spending a ton of money as well... not sure of the price for the good cards.

    Hi m24.

The Radeon 6850 is a map of 127 watts maximum.  The NVIDIA 460 I use in my e9280t's map of 160 watts. There will be major heat problems as long as the PC is not in restricted airspace (Cabinet).   Maximum, this means that the fans will be silent.

    Schmatrix, welcome to the forum.

The problem you are having, it is that the video card requires UEFI in the motherboard instead of a standard BIOS.  HP didn't start using UEFI until mid-October 2012.  Your computer was released in February 2012.  You must contact the Technical Support of Zotac to see if they have a VBIOS update that will solve your problem.

  • The graphics card upgrade issues...

I recently bought this graphics card: http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/searchtools/item-Details.asp?EdpNo=5660536&sku=A271-5774

Also, I advanced and bought this power supply: http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/searchtools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=3276573

I own a HP Pavilion a6414 and this is my first video/graphics card upgrade.  I did a good bit of research and I know that I have the PCI E x 16 appropriate for the card slot and the power SUPPLY 650 Watt PSU to insert in the ATX case. I measure the UAP present btw.  I'm a little worried about the upgrade of the power supply, because I read somewhere (I think it's here on this forum) that some HP tech rep said a person who upgrade the power supply could not be performed on the a6414, but I don't see why not.

My other concern is about the speed of the processor to the graphics card and possibly voltage problems, but I think the power SUPPLY Ultra PSU will be fine.  Either that it is my first time to play with the graphics card and PSU, I'm looking for advice on the compatibility between these three components, i.e. the model, the card and the power supply.  Any input will be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks in advance...

I installed everything today and it works like a charm.  I had read so much about the HD 5770 not recognized by HPs and the test of the power supply, but everything worked so far.  I bought a LG LED 20 "monitor today as well, and everything looks great.  Thanks for all the advice guys...  The links you provided helped with Dave BIOS, thanks.

  • HP ProBook 4445 s processor and graphics card upgrade

    Hello

I need to have my CPU and graphics card upgraded to the requirements below please add link/s that will help me

    Processor
I need to improve my processor 1.90 GHz to 4 GHz (at least 2.66 GHz). Then please add a link/s to this processor/s that I can use to upgrade my laptop to 2.66 GHz at least, or reach 4 Ghz.

    Video card
I also need to improve my video card from the AMD Radeon HD 7640 G to a DirectX 11 with 2 GB of video ram (at least 1 GB of video ram). Please add link/s on what card video/s who reach the requirements I need.

    Thank you

    Here's the problem with that:

    AMD A6 - 4400M, Max 3,2 GHz / 2.7 - GHz Base, 1 MB of L2 cache, Dual-Core,.
    Graphic 35W: 7520G HD

    AMD - A8 4500 M, Max 2.8 GHz/1, 9-basis of GHz, 4 MB L2 cache, quadcore,.
    Graphic 35W: 7640G HD

    AMD - A4 - 4300M, 3.0 GHz maximum / 2.5 - GHz Base, 1 MB of L2 cache, double
    Core, graphic 35W: HD 7420 G

Above are your graphics options for laptop. If yours is 1.9 ghz it cannot the A8, which is the best CPU and GPU option available. The video is part of the processor. There is just no way for you to improve the graphics capabilities of this laptop. It may seem like the A-6 is better because it works to 2.7 ghz, but there only 2 hearts: you have 4. And the 7520 graphics are lower than what you have. That's what you try to do? There is not too many computers that reach 4 ghz, not to mention a laptop.

    JoBla, welcome to the forum.

It is becoming increasingly difficult to ensure that the latest components will work in an old computer.  Your computer is almost 3 years old.  My suggestion is to choose the SSD and the video card you want to buy and contact the Technical Support of the manufacturer to determine if it will work with your computer.  They are the experts on their products.  This will save you the possibility to pay for the return of one of them.  That's what I did and it works fine.

I can recommend a PSU 600W (PSU), however.  I love Corsair products.  Here is a very good power supply.  Read the reviews to see what users have to say about it.  There is a modular version of it, too.  The modular power supply is good for medium-sized cases.  It allows you to use only the cables that are absolutely necessary.  Which makes for airflow and better cable management.

No, the GTX 950 requires UEFI in the motherboard instead of a standard BIOS.  HP didn't start using UEFI until mid-October 2012.  There is no way to update the motherboard in the UEFI.  Latest video cards do not for UEFI were the GTX 660/670.  I suggest that you choose a manufacturer and contact their Technical Support to help them choose the best card for your system.

You will also need to upgrade the power supply (PSU).  It is only 300W.  Most newer cards require at least 400W to work properly.  Although status map specifications at least 300 w, members reported that they had at least to 400W.

  • HP Pavilion Elite HPE - 590uk Desktop PC - graphics card

    Hello

I have a 'HP Pavilion Elite HPE - 590uk Desktop PC' and seeks to update the graphics card - what is the maximum power of the graphics card can I install? The 420 has a request of 50W - would I be able to switch to a 660GTX to 150W?

    Hello

The HPE-590uk PC has a 460 watt power supply with a 1 connector PCI-E 6-pin power supply. When considering a graphics card, it is always best to consider the recommendation of power supply as indicated by the manufacturer of the graphics card.

Consult this publication articleand a measure inside your PC.

There are a lot of different brands and models of the NVIDIA GTX 660.  The reference of the models are rated at 140 watts to several do not require a 450 Watt power supply.  Looking for a model that is 9.5 "or less in length.

  • graphics card upgrade HPE 500z?

    Hello

First of all, I'm a total newb with computers. Secondly, I have a 5 years HPE 500z (Phenom II x 6 1045T 2.7 Ghz) running Windows 7 home premium 64-bit. The current map graphic is a GeForce GT 610. I'm working on what I can improve the graphics card. I was looking at the map of ti GeForce GTX 750, but my research led me to believe that there is some bios on UEFI issues. My bios is dated 2010, and I looked on the site of HP support for an update, but nothing helped. Any ideas on what particular video card might be suitable? I use the computer for work and play of light, but I've noticed recently that games like Elite Sniper 3, which had already run smoothly are now executed slowly with delay. I have recently replace a PSU failure (the computer now sports a 500W PSU) and did a system restore because of computer crashes (all now resolved). Is there a faster graphics card cards can I use with my current system, or I'm looking at a new mother/computer card?

    Thank you most kindly,

    Robert

    @spinecracker

Most of the graphics cards NVIDIA GTX 750 works with a power of 300 watts with the exception of the NVIDIA GTX 750 models that require an auxiliary power connector 6-pin.  It is a moot point in your situation.

"Is the question you should ask a NVIDIA GTX 750 that will work in my PC?"

If you search this forum, you will find situations where the NVIDIA GTX 750 did not work in the old HP PC.   The new HP PC running a version 8 BIOS will support the NVIDIA GTX 750.

Review of the models ZOTAC NVIDIA GTX 750 which are backwards compatible with PCI-E version 1.1.

Non-UEFI NVIDIA GTX 660 model would also be a good choice.  I have the EVGA GTX 660, but since then have flashed the vBIOS inside in support of UEFI computers.  As I flashed, it no longer works on old no UEFI PC of.

    Hello

The NVIDIA GTX 970 is a decent graphics card.  Because of the many brands and models of graphics cards, you need to open your PC and do a step inside. Please read this document posted on: a discrete video card selection Guide

If you don't push monitor resolutions since 1920 by 1080 and average use game setting then the NVIDIA GTX 750 TI would be a good choice for use with a power of 300 watts with many games. However, the GTX 970 with a 500 Watt power supply would be good for many games even with the higher game settings.

He'll come down between your choice of performance and the depth of your portfolio.

I'm about to buy (tomorrow afternoon) a new HP Pavilion Elite HPE - 063uk PC (VG251AA), its quite expensive so I am hated for buy it without really knowing if I can upgrade the graphics card. It comes with an NVIDIA® GeForce™ GT230 graphics card (OEM?). I'll buy this computer mainly for games. It seemed a fantastic boon and I just assumed that I could upgrade the graphics card right after the purchase (from PC world). However, someone told me that I would not be able to update the graphics card and I'm stuck with the GT 230. I can't find any info anywhere and I'm not it professionals the so any help would be appreciated. I just want to know if I can upgrade the graphics card before buying it.
Any help would be greatly appreciated

P.S. the games I'll mainly use will be Empire and Napoleon Total War and Star Trek Online, but I want a good level of detail obv for this price

CC, Yes, you can upgrade the video card.  The PSU 460W, you should be able to buy a very good card.  The only limit is the length of the card.  I am not sure, but I think that any map 9.5 "or less must adapt.  You can measure to be sure.  Open the case and the extent of the edge of the box to the opposite side of the motherboard where the PCIE x 16 slot.  It's the approximate card that fits.  From the looks of the plug, I would say that the computer should be a very good player.

It just loks like the new graphics card prevents the hard drive to run.

All attached cables (power cable 6 pin) and locked firmly into the PCI slot.

I'm not familiar with current PC for sale, regarding upgrades.  Since is considered a new HP, try looking at the list of options on the HP website.  Most higher end PC have the options that you choose before buy you, to customize the generation.  Choose a model with options that match your criteria now and notice the upgrade options - write down them - to avoid confusion later.  OR go with a customized version, but this could mean significant spending.  It is the hand off the coast between prebuilts and personalized.
