HTML, representative of the DPS article

Good so I don't know what I'm missing here.

To my knowledge the idea of 'representative HTML article DPS' was that it would be generated automatically by the folio server and hosted on a 'adobe.com' or such domain.

When our users share something via Facebook / Twitter / Email these links direct to a HTML representation in their browser (I guess there will be some sort of link in this viewer to download the application on the AppStore relevant?)

Currently, all I get is a link to the URL of Publication right, which is literally just a marketing application page created by our client, which is the most terrible time and we're going to do it.

In any case these as HTML exist? Does anyone have a link? What I am doing wrong?

I can't find answers in documentation.

CRA...

Without a doubt of the Nations United-protect every article in Folio Producer: Editor. The default is for each article to be protected. So at least that remove you manually, it will not appear in the browser. Note also, it won't be visible on the iPad.

Bob-

When do you think we will get multiple selection checkbox in Folio Producer: Editor in Chief? It's a real pain to go and switch manually COT visibility article, H Swipe, Protect and power on a large multi-article-doc!

Also any progress on the multiple selection in the Folio Builder Panel? Continues to be a real pain to update the articles one by one!

  • Horizontal swiping HTML items move to the new article

When I'm scrolling upwards or downwards to a HTML article and then I swipe left or right I am able to jump to another article in the collection. It occurs only on items in HTML in the collection, and I want to disable this behavior.

I know if there is a bug. It is possible that HTML gestures are the substitution of this setting, which might explain your experience in which horizontal disabling dragging works correctly with the contents of the fixed layout, but not with HTML content.

  • Animation of the edge Article PDF HTML

Animation of the edge Article PDF HTML.

OK, hope someone can help me understand what Im missing here.

I have an animation of Adobe edge, composed of PNG and a transparent stage. If I place the OAM file in a jpg article animation with transparent overlays phase my background in indesign (below the OAM) and works very well.

When I place the CAO even in an article PDF Animation scene doesn't have a transparent stage therefor blocking my background?

I thought with the new tools that you can put HTML files with transparent steps to PDF articles?

First: Image of animation background above in the Article. Jpg Png.

Second: Same file OAM in PDF Article

  • How to teach the DPS 2015 without Preview app?

I taught a class during a few sessions with the Digital Publishing Suite, which allowed me to have students to test, demonstrate and share applications iPad with me through the content viewer.

It seems clear from reading many posts here and elsewhere on the preview (and watch videos of development on the way), that the preview of applications is not possible without credentials and signature of the app. It's VERY heavy for a simple introduction project. Is it true that there is no way to interact with an application "published" without having a developer account (with Apple, since we would only use the iPad platform)?

I found a program of institutional development for iOS developer for schools licenses, but to get this agreement would be with the entire University and apparently involve legal departments!

I, and I imagine many other educators, emergency hope a tool, like the content viewer, experimentation, training, instruction, etc., without having to formally engage Apple, Google or Microsoft to pretend that we are actually application developers

Fingers crossed, but not very optimistic...

    Thank you.

Roy as an educator, you have a few options:

    (1) continue to use "DPS Classic" with workflows based on Folio. We always support all aspects of the older environment.

    2) ask students to sign up for their own tests of 2015 DPS and all will have fully functional accounts for 30 days. With the application available to the public of preflight DPS (our new version of the content viewer), it is unnecessary to create a custom application to display a preview of the content.

    (3) have your Department tender hand to their Adobe representative to discuss the structure of prices for EDU.

I have worked with a number of universities and colleges, and my advice to them is to continue to teach InDesign workflows for printing, but also educate them about HTML for Web and Mobile workflows. We try to create sur-rampes as much as possible to get the content in the platform. An excellent article by David Hicks speaks where InDesign fits into a mobile design: http://www.fipp.com/news/opinion/is-indesign-becoming-redundant-for-digital-publishers

Tools such as Adobe MUSE will become nice options for creating content fluid and responsive to DPS.

If the DPS route does not work for your class consider looking creation files ePub ch-setting in page or using Adobe InDesign publishing online in 2015.

  • navto links go dead when not the first article of collection

I feel very odd behavior with navto links in the articles of DPS solution.

I have an article with a big button with this link: navto://GRhodes_PofC_contents#1--juste the name of another article in the same collection, goes to the second page.

If I set up the collection so that the article with the link of navto load first, the button works.  If it is nowhere else in the collection (and I navigate through a link from another article), the button is dead.  It's clearly reading the action because the < = back link is not displayed at the top of the screen.  And no error rises ("content not found"), instead, it does nothing.  Looks like a bug, but I can't diagnose.  I have not tried yet completely rebuild the collection and items on the DPS, but it's my next step.

Anyone else having this problem with unreliable strange behavior with links to navto?

    Hey, Geoffrey;

Navto in DPS2015 links work much like the previous version, but there are a few differences.

Within a project, you will have a lot of articles, but the name of each item is unique. Navto://ArticleName will get you to the article, but the relative location where you come from and where you "nav would be-to" has an impact on your experience.

A navto of one article to another in the same collection has a context, so you can drag the previous or following in the collection items.

But if you navto an article that is outside the collection, then there's no context for all navigation drag (you can only go back). So a navto an article outside the current collection is a little like walking into a cup bag - you must leave the way you came in.

Some related commands navto work, and there is info in the HELP system: https://helpx.adobe.com/digital-publishing-solution/help/hyperlinks.html#create_goto_links _to_custom_icons

The significant passage in the HELP article is in the first section, third indent:

    • If the destination article is located in the same collection that section that the user displays, typing the link opens this article as part of the collection. If the destination article is not in the same collection, it will open in a State that is not bound to a collection, with no article left or right of it. Users can use the navigation bar to return to the original article.

  • Replace 'static' right banner banner right 'slide show' in html implementation of the default library v3

I am currently updating an existing company DPS application. I use the 'DPS' online configurator to create an implementation of HTML iOS7-style update of the default library (v3). I also want to implement the banner of payment for the slideshow of the DPS Configurator. Is there a documentation on the banner of law replacing static with right banner slideshow for the implementation of HTML customized? Or is it one or the other? If I can integrate both, do I have to manually replace static with banner slide show in the code (using DreamWeaver) or replace it when I go to App Builder. I should also mention that this is not a real App right, I use article of Ivan Mironchuck... HTML banners for unpaid apps added. Adobe Developer Connection 'fake out' technical to include a banner of right in the first place on existing v1 of our current application. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Sorry, there is not any way to combine the two. They are two separate HTML pages.

  • The application for the DPS application cache?

    Hello

I was wondering if the caching of the Web site data for use in offline mode is available with the DPS applications?

Basically, I wanted to create an overlay of web, bind it to a HTML article on our server (items change every two weeks and in these articles are for users to fill out forms). I think that perhaps the "appcache" approach is the way to go, by providing experience in offline mode - in terms of being able to navigate and access the forms when they are offline.

Anyone have any suggestions on how to do this or to have a better way to do?

    Thanks for your help!

    Juan

You could, but it might be a little semi-complex configuration.

If you detect the user has a valid internet connect, download the data and cache localstorage, in addition to display to the user. If the user is not online and has never loaded the page before, you will need to present them with a kind of different dialogue probably (please go online..). If the user is not online, and you can find the key/information existing cached in localstorage, then load this information on the page.

  • Open Local HTML file in the browser to the app?

    Hello

We have a question, we want to make a link to a local HTML file form in a DPS article, it takes the HTML file to open in the browser in application; We cannot use an overlay of web content for this feature. We are able to do this easily with the content of a source online by creating a link to go to the URL of the Web site in the URL section.

Is it possible HTML form resources folder and can it be tested in adobe content viewer?

Or better yet can we easily link to a local folder using the go to URL with a local file path? If so what would it be?

    Thank you

    Dream awake

Yes, you can open an HTML file in a browser in app by adding the HTML file to the HTMLResources.zip. Create a button with an action to go to the URL that looks like this:

    HTMLResources/HTML_Local/index.html

Make sure that you create your HTMLResources.zip file correctly and transfer it into the folder. You can test it in Adobe Content Viewer on iPad or on the desktop so that get you a glimpse of the folio (not article or page layout).

Basically, you use the same technique to post a link to the HTML file that you use to post a link to the PDF files. For more details, see the application of DPS tips > Advanced overlays > linking to PDF files.

  • Navigate to another HTML page in the same section file

    Hi all

It is possible to navigate to another HTML page in the same file of the article? E.g. index.html contains an < a > tag has a href pointing to page2.html? This seems to work in the application of preflight in the iOS, but not in Windows. Currently I use relative links, for example

    < a href = "page2.html" > Page 2 < /a >

Should I use a different syntax? For example

    < a href = "navto://page2.html" > Page 2 < /a >

    Thank you

    Frank

I found the solution. Use rather JS. Windows.Location.href seems to work for ios and windows.

    Hi Rita,.

You will need to create a project in AEMM, and then use the Folio migration tool to migrate the folios (from classic DPS) to this new project.

All folios migrated will be converted in the articles and ready to be used on AEMM.

  • Has anyone successfully put a whole magazine of DPS on the Web with the DPS Web Viewer?

    Does anyone do this?

You are looking for Viewer for the DPS web tips.

I have a DPS iPad magazine, and I would use the Web of DPS Viewer to put my magazine behind a paywall and have the readers to access the entire magazine on the web.

Looking for advice on the process - THX a LOT!

    Hello

You can achieve as a result of the article: Content Viewer web Embedding in your web page. Adobe Developer Connection

  • Convert InDesign DPS Article

I'm working on converting an InDesign magazine in an article DPS, but I can't export it as a DPS article because ratios do not match. Is there a work around for this?

Also Tim, when you select 'iPhone' as a built-in digital media, InDesign uses by default a resolution low resolution iPhone 4 320 x 480. Then, when you go to export and select the resolution of the iPhone 6, it IS a different aspect ratio.

When you initially set the document in which you will develop the content, override the preset with the dimensions of the phone you are targeting and make sure you use these same dimensions when you export.

Bates, usually at a resolution of 640 x 480 iPhone 4-retina will be developed. This will properly solve on a 4S and get letter boxed (across the top and down) on the 5 and 6 processor (it actually resolves on a mini iPad too!). However, if you design for the 5 or 6, it will get letter recessed vertically on small screens which looks very natural!

Just make sure that whatever the size you set up the document, is the same size (or at least report l / h) that you use when you export - they can be overridden at each point.
