  Also note that you can not the role Hyper-V installed in the parent partition, if you want to run the VMware using VT products, as Hyper-V virtualizes the parent partition, but it only virtualizes the VT CPU features.

• vSphere replication: can it be used with Hyper-V?

  I have a use case where I would like to migrate virtual servers (largely 2008R2) Hyper-V hosts to 5.5 ESXi hosts.  I know I could use vCenter Converter to do this in a procedure in 2 steps, or Zerto in a simpler process, but I was wondering if vSphere replication can be used.  I have not seen anything which seems to indicate that it can be used, but I thought I'd ask anyway.  Thanks for any input.

• Replication Failover clustering & Hyper-v on a two-node cluster

  We have two identical servers.  One to use as a main server, which houses two virtual machines.  The other should be used as a back up in case the main server is not somehow.  We planned on using a solution of third-party software to back up our virtual machines and launch them in the event of failure of the principal server.  However, we discovered just gave the failover clustering in Windows Server R2 2012.

  We have tried to set up a cluster 2 nodes, with our virtual machines properly replicated to the backup server.  Excited by the present, we tried then to simulate failure of the primary server (by pulling on the cable network).  We were a little disappointed to find that the backup server is not automatically run virtual machines.  We did a survey and read than a solution of two nodes requires storage space for additional network (in addition to our two servers).

  I wonder if that's okay?  In other words, a two-node failover cluster requires separate network storage space.  If this is not correct, can someone point me to a set of instructions to correctly configure a two-node failover cluster that will automatically launch the virtual machines on the server backup (in the case of a failure of the principal server).

• Upgrade of Windows 2003 to 2012 r2 DC replication problem

  I added R2 2012 Windows server to windows 2003 sp2 (primary DC) DC and promotes as DC. After the promotion, I run dcdiag and it shows errors.

  Each of the servers have three NICs connected to different networks.

  Please help me with your expertise since I have to raise this Monday.

  With Windows 2012 and 2012R2, there is a problem that currently prevents the HIT / replica ME volumes CSV.   Until it's resolved, you need to plan the replication of CSV volumes via the user interface of group.  I think this is mentioned in the HIT / ME v4.7.x documentation.

While the volume is replicated to site b. replication works very well. Our MRC is the following: when A VM site goes down. 1 interrupt us the replication from site A to site B. 2 volume) we turn on the virtual machine to site B. 3) promote us the incoming line to site B. 4) attached to the Hyper-V host using ISCSI initiator. (5) provide online on Hyper-V host volume and assign a drive letter. (5) and then attach to VM. My question is, can the volume PS6100 repeated in volume? So I don't have to go through this process. I would like to just start the VM DR in site B and have the fixed volume. • vSphere replication with suspension of guest OS

  We are setting up vSphere 6 replication. For some VM (Windows 2012) we want to use the guest OS standby to be sure the application/database is not corrupted after a disaster. I noticed that whenever a replication begins and ends, the VM freezes for a few seconds. When I start a ping during a replication, I also see a couple (two or three) waiting times. I wonder if it is a behavior normal and if not, what can be done to improve it?

  It is the normal or expected behavior. This is caused by VSS sleep and the VM snapshot she needs.

  If your application does not require the VSS suspension I would not recommend using it.   If you have no budget, you can open a connection directly from SQL Server to Oracle, or vice versa. In Oracle, they are called links DB; in SQL Server, they are called "linked servers".

  Datanamic also have tools that claim to do the cross-DB replication. I have no experience with them and is not an endorsement - I know they exist.

• Network on the VMS problem guests on nested Hyper-V on ESXi 5.5

  MCE. Enable = "TRUE".

  At this point, everything works fine- I am able to install the Windows server 2012 R2 with Hyper-V feature. I also installed VMware Tools on this 2012 Windows Hyper-V, datacenter arrived at the field, ran iSCSI to connect to our NAS and restarted the hyper-V without problem on ESXi.

  Windows Hyper-V (not supported) is a selection of OS comments available through the user interface in Workstation 9.  It defines the guestOS to 'winhyperv '.  Although the selection of the BONES of Hyper-V is not available through the user interface of 5.1 ESXi, I understand that support it is always there.
