Hyperion Planning metadata via ODI update

I need to load a structure of the entity from a planning to another application. In the past, I used a juicer contour essbase to extract, and then load via HAL, DIM, or in this case, ODI (I can get this comfortable work).

My dilemma is that I want to do everything in ODI and rather than overthrow an essbase outline and load planning, I would take a look at the planning which has already been reversed (use it as a source) and then charge to another (new) planning application entities hierarchy. So I'm planning entity Dim of App1 (reversed previously using RKM Planning to SQL I believe)-uses SQL to SQL LKM and then Driver Memory charge as the staging area with the target entity planning Dim for App2 as target using IKM SQL to planning. All the members card accordingly as expected.

However when I run it, I get a driver not found error. Is it because the low reverse App1 entity cannot serve as a source? or?

Any help would be appreciated... and my apologies if this has already been answered somewhere: I tried searching because he came but empty. I've seen something on the amendment of the execution of the staging to source but don't could not find the place to go and was not sure that he applied.

BTW... I also tried to reverse entity dim App1 in text file (and was going to go this text to the target entity for the App2 Dim). Again not luck.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Hello

You can extract the metadata planning using an adapter, using adapters, you'll need to extract of essbase to planning.

  • ODI - Hyperion Planning metadata load question

    Hi all

    Loading metadata in Hyperion planning through SQl IKM - Hyperion Planning, a movement of a member from one parent to the other create a duplicate instead of moving.

    Here is an Ex:

    Oracle table - update data Source:
    parent, child, alias, storage, aggregation
    G3K, G285, xxxxxx, shared, +.

    In planning (before loading the interface):
    parent, child, alias, storage, aggregation
    G2A, G285, xxxxxx, shared, +.

    In planning (after loading the interface):
    parent, child, alias, storage, aggregation
    G2A, G285, xxxxxx, shared, +.
    G3K, G285, xxxxxx, shared, +.

    As you can see above, Member "G285" got double in planning. Not sure why this happens? am I missing something?

    ODI 10.1.3.5 & planning 9.3.1.09

    Appreciate your feedbacks.

    Thank you.

    Hello

    If you think about it so it is kind of correct what he does.

    If you have a member stored then you can't duplicate, so if you give the Member a different parent, then she will move the Member.

    Now shared members, you can have several duplicate, then when you load a shared member metadata, and a new parent so he does not know if you want to move the Member so it goes in the way of the creation of another shared member.

    If you are a member who is shared in two times and then give another parent, how would he know that you wanted to move.

    A possible solution to this is have an interface to remove members shared that you require no more, and then run the normal load of members shared in the correct location.

  • Creating data Hyperion Planning Server by using SDK

    Hi all

    I am trying to create a database server Hyperion Planning technology using ODI SDK... If the code to find the ORACLE technology is
    OdiTechnology oracleTechnology = (odiInstance (IOdiTechnologyFinder)
    + .getTransactionalEntityManager () .getFinder (+
    OdiTechnology.class)) .findByCode ("ORACLE");

    So what would be the value of findByCode() to Hyperion Planning and Essbase?... I tried several combinations, but nothing seems to work

    Thanks in advance,

    NJ

    Hi NJ,.

    You can find the Code of your technology, if you double-click on the technology in the topology.

    Hyperion Planning: HYPERION_PLANNING
    Hyperion Essbase: HYPERION_ESSBASE

    It will be useful.

  • Management of metadata in ODI/planning errors

    I debated between this question on the forum of the ODI or here, but just like the famous John Goodwin so dominates this forum, I thought I'd post it here. :)

    How people treat the planning dimension builds in ODI wrt in error handling packages?

    My goal is only to send emails from the exception when a problem arises. I automate this via packages compiled for scenarios.

    I found that a real error in an interface will cause a recoverable error in one package, for example, the name of the server is really plan01.corpname.com and somehow the physical schema gets changed to bozotheclown.goaway.org. I can then send an email to failure.

    I also found that if I have an error of metadata in a dim planning build interface I can intercept the errors in an error file. A wrong record (syntactically correct, but its parent cannot be found, for example) will generate an entry in the error file if I turn record errors.

    However, this record incorrect do not generate an ODI error in a package.

    I thought to test the existence of this file but the generation constant (from the option LOG_ERRORS IKM SQL for Hyperion Planning) of the error file regardless of how shabby record that I can't use the control ODIFileWait to test if the file is there or not.

    I can't find a way to test for the length of the file (if it is zero, there is no metadata errors) in ODI.

    I guess I could do it via an external script (Windows environment), but it's wrong on many levels that I can't believe this is my only option.

    Any thoughts? If you come with an answer, I'll post in my blog and give you all the credit. As if it was a real incentive...

  • Adapter ODI for Hyperion planning

    Hi gurus,

    I have problem with definition for Hyperion planning server data connection. What database server, I need to use for the connection of Hyperion Planning. Planning of the app is on separate servers that the cube. Cube is on Essbase server. This means that I need to two different connections, one for the data (essbase cube) for metadata (server when considering app). Is this really?

    I made only one connection on essbase server and try reverse engineering to cube essbase, which I made with the planning, of model, but it gives me an error:

    [com.hyperion.odi.planning.ODIPlanningException: com.hyperion.odi.planning.ODIPlanningException: could not connect to the instance of planning on host hostname], [port] port, check if connect you are correct.

    Thank you

    I put port 11333 on the server where is installed my workspace for planning, and finally I managed model of reverse engineering for Hyperion planning.

  • Unable to see IKM Hyperion Planning loading metadata from the file/Tabl

    Hello

    I am unable to see the IKM SQL for Hyperion Planning Knowledge Module in the stream tab. I have reverse engineered the KM and I see the KM in my project (having only 1 project). I am trying to load the metadata of the file up to planning and selected different refuelling area of target. I was able to debone planning cube models ODI successfully.

    ODI Version: 11.1.1.6.3
    Planning version: 11.1.2.2

    Any help will be appreciated.

    -Kash

    The workaround is

    After you import the IKM, open the KM and go to "Setting"-> "Source Technology"
    Manually change the generic value of 'Technology' of 'SQL' to 'Undefined '.
    Save and proceed with your new creation of interface

    ODI (installed with FDMEE)

    We trace the error in the knowledge base, but apparently is a common error present in other products, but we are a little confused

    If you can help us with any suggestions would be helpful!

    Thank you

    Ivan Lemus

    Take a look at the following support doc - ' java.io.InvalidClassException: com.hyperion.planning.HspException' reported when attempting to return a genius Hyperion Planning data warehouses (ID of Doc 1378423.1).

    I've seen usually the error when the username/password of planning name is either incorrect in ODI or has no administrative privileges

    See you soon

  • ODI for Hyperion Planning upgrade upgrade

    Dear all,

    I really need your advice. Now we are in the process of Hyperion Planning upgrade 11.1.1.3 11.1.2.2

    We must also modernize ODI. Hyperion Planning and ODI now run on the same machine. And after upgrade HP, it will be even...

    So now we have 2 servers - current HP more ODI and new HP.

    Could you please how to make the process of upgrading of ODI?

    PS: I don't want to touch existing ODI. And I don't want to install the previous version on the new server.

    I'd be happy if it was the way with the new installation of version ODI with migration of repositories for new machine...

    Install a newer version of ODI in the new server. Then take the saving deposits of the ODI and restore them to new db.

    Using the upgrade process, upgrade the ODI, then connect them with newly installed ODI.

    With the help of ODIhome/bin/us.bat, we can improve the ODI version.

    Thank you

    Mady

  • ODI: Hyperion Planning target IKM issue

    All,

    In my ODI interface, I am trying to load data from flat file for Hyperion Planning application.

    To do this, I imported knowledge modules

    1 RKM Hyperion Planning
    2 LKM SQL file
    3 IKM SQL for Hyperion Planning

    Here, I am able to Reverese hyperion, planning an application using RKM Hyperion Planning.

    Interface creation started and when I try to assign IKM for Hyperion planning target, it's not showing "IKM SQL to Hyperion Planning". _ in the list of the IKM.
    Could you please suggest, if I'm missing something.

    Thanks in advance.

    Uday

    Hi Uday,

    Have you checked the box "staging: different target area" on the first tab of your interface? You must select a logic diagram it that points to a technology database as the Sunopsis Memory engine or (which I recommend) a schema, Oracle or SQL Server.

    Then you should be able to select the IKM planning.

    Kind regards
    Matthias

    This is the code that returns the error

    from com.hyperion.odi.common import ODIConstants
    from com.hyperion.odi.connection import HypAppConnectionFactory
    import java.lang class
    import java.lang Boolean

    #load data
    stats = pWriter.loadData (rs)

    #close the database result set, connection
    RS. Close()
    stmt. Close()

    I created 2 models in my designer:

    HYPERION_MODEL_TEST and ORACLE_SQL_SOURCE, the first has the reverse engineering dimensions ranging from planning and the other is to get the table that contains the members of my size. For the staging area, the synopsis in memory DB is used.

    LKM SQL for SQL and SQL IKM in Hyperion Planning is used.

    In the interface, I take the source table and the dimension of planning as a target I map the Parent, Alias account: by default, the data storage and ownership of aggregation (Plan1) of the target of the GBA in my dimension table.

    All be saved well and when I run it I get the error, clues?

    Cheers, Sandi

    First of all there is no interest in using the memory storage engine as the staging area if Oracle is your source, you can also use Oracle as the transit area, the staging area probably will not be used as usual a straight SQL query will be generated.
    In your target mappings have also tried setting "run on the staging.

    See you soon
