• Adapter ODI for Hyperion planning

  Hi gurus,

  I have problem with definition for Hyperion planning server data connection. What database server, I need to use for the connection of Hyperion Planning. Planning of the app is on separate servers that the cube. Cube is on Essbase server. This means that I need to two different connections, one for the data (essbase cube) for metadata (server when considering app). Is this really?

  I made only one connection on essbase server and try reverse engineering to cube essbase, which I made with the planning, of model, but it gives me an error:

  [com.hyperion.odi.planning.ODIPlanningException: com.hyperion.odi.planning.ODIPlanningException: could not connect to the instance of planning on host hostname], [port] port, check if connect you are correct.

  I put port 11333 on the server where is installed my workspace for planning, and finally I managed model of reverse engineering for Hyperion planning.

  (1) will not be OK if I go with "complete the installation that includes Oracle Data Integrator, Oracle Data Profiling and Oracle.
  Quality of the data to Oracle Data Integrator"with the client and the server on the same machine?
  
  Does also need to install these components?
  (2) browser to metabase
  (3) JDBC driver
  (3) light designer
  
  I think that the adopters are required for use with Hyperion.

  You should not need "" Oracle and Oracle Data Quality data profiling"
  When you install, you can just install the Oracle Data Integrator, then choose complete.

• The IKM selector selection error: IKM SQL for Hyperion Planning

  On the tab 'Flow' of my model, I click on my head to target. Then on the drop down 'Selector IKM', select 'IKM SQL for Hyperion Planning. It gives the error:
  
  Internal error: ODI-15526: IKM IKM SQL for Hyperion Planning not accepted for stage director and target technology
  
  
  Any ideas? I am really new green on ODI and I am at the end to try to run my dimension build. Any help is appreciated.

  You must select a transit area which is different to the planning, because this isn't an intermediate technology supported. What you need to do is to go to the tab definition of your interface tick the 'target different transit zone"and then select a relational technology (that is, one that takes supported SQL) in the drop-down list below. If you have no relational db on stage your data and then select ENGINE SUNOPSIS MEMORY which is the memory in DB that is provided as part of the ODI.

  Why do we not use port no. 11333 for Hyperion, planning for metadata by ODI?

  More, what you need to know, when you deploy planning you will see that there is a process of 'Java RMI Registry' / service, it works on port 13333. The planning adapter communicates with the RMI registry and then communicates with the planning. If you need to know more, then look for "Java RMI" on the internet.

  There isn't any direct way to integrate HPS. You must use Scorecard Import / Export utility.

• ODI and Hyperion Planning help

  I have 2 Hyperion Planning 9.3.1 configuring servers for applications of Finance and human resources. I want to copy the data from the application of human resources to finance one.
  
  I ODI 10.3.5 installation on a machine separate with Hyperion Planning card installed. In the topology Manager when I try to create a new database in Hyperion Planning Server, I do not see the Application (catalogue) and demand (the work catalogue) drop downs fill.
  
  I checked the RMI registry service running on the server of hyperion and port 11333 is also free.
  
  I'm new on ODI and I'm trying to set it up using Oracle guides.

  Again check your odiparams.bat file and make sure that there is no space located right after the encoded password, repository work name, username etc.

• Construction of dimension with a rules file for Hyperion Planning

  Hello Experts!
  
  I'm on version 11.1.1.3. I created a classic with 3 Hyperion Planning application plan types, and in EA I have successfully downloaded the same members of dimension entity with the same rules file in each of the 3 contours under my application from HP. Then I've also updated database in the Planning, but I don't see any new dimension member in HP. - could someone help me with what is wrong? Hyperion Planning of work with files of rules for dimension is not build? Thanks in advance!

  No planning does not work with the rule files, you must load dimensions information directly in the planning, and then push it to essbase.

  Hello Rahul,

  You must take the backup of application schema of planning instead of the planning tables.

  Hyperion 9.3.1 - 78 tables created on the back-end
  Hyperion 11.1.1.1 - 83 tables created on the back-end

  Taking the backup scheme:
  -------------------------------------
  Using export dump utility, export Oracle dump file

  c:\expdp hypapp/hypapp@hyperion dumpfile = pra.dmp

  Note: the above dump file stored in the mentioned location below
  Oracle 10g: G:\oracle\product\10.2.0\admin\orcl\dpdump\pra.dmp
  Oracle 11g: E:\app\Administrator\admin\hyperion\dpdump\pra.dmp

  Hi, someone tried to deploy Hyperion Planning using the Windows Server 2008 operating system? I understand that it is not currently supported but I just want to check if there are a few companies have tried this option.

  I tried to install it on windows server 2008 and I advise to do unless you are going to use it just as a test.
  Firstly, Openldap do not install correctly, missing parts of the registry, it can be fixed by updating the registry.
  Many of the files in the common directory are also not deployed and must be copied manually over the course of a working environment.
  He believes that installation is vista.
  EPMA does not work, the services don't start with a warning against bad operating system in the same Viewer.

  It seems that Oracle have work it cuts to get everything running smoothly by the next version.

• Module knowledge in ODI for Hyperion 11.1.2.1

  Hi all
  We use 11.1.2.1(latest un). The new system comes with commercial outlines of loading to load the metadata and data. In the old system, we used to load the data of Essbase. In this new version, we can load the data via the edge load utility.
  My question is - we use ODI to load the metadata and data. I am familiar with a knowledge module to load the metadata in the planning but is at - he new knowledge to load the data via the planning with ODI?
  How to load the data into the planning?

• Financial reporting for Hyperion Planning Application error

  I get this error when you try to run a HFR report in the workspace, which connects to a planning application:
  
  Query execution error: error: internal error Essbase JAPI: [cannot run the report. [Essbase Error (1012709): virtual time series, the last period of time set [period] is not a time dimension member level 0]
  
  My question is: where I put the last time period in the planning application?
  
  I googled like crazy, but I can't seem to find anything like that, but the period start and end parameters. When I go in the settings of SDRS to the planning application, there is no option to set the 'last period of time."

  Seems that you won't put perspective preview so you can not choose a period, in the workspace, go to file > Preferences > Financial Reporting, set an excerpt to it.

  go to edelivery.oracle.com and select "Hyperion Performance Management and BI", select a platform & click go. In the next screen, you will see the selection for 9.3.1 products click on it. Thus, for example, if you selected windows 32-bit

  platform you will see the next option "Hyperion Performance Management and BI (9.3.1) Media Pack for Microsoft Windows (32-bit)" click on that & you will find all the relevant downloads for version 9.
