  With Adobe Reader locally or the plug-in on a Web site, it takes a lot of time for a url called by a hyperlink in a pdf document will appear in a browser window. Can anyone explain why this is happening and, hopefully, how to fix?

  P.S., Drive 11.0.10 is not officially compatible with Windows XP, but it actually works very well.

  We could certainly help you.

  With your PDF is open in a browser window, you will need to run the JavaScript to open hyperlinks in another window of the browser that makes even.

  It occurs to me suddenly that if I create a dummy appendix1.fm and use openpage appendix1:49, FM could generate the correct link. I'll try that.

  FM always assumes that the marker of the hypertext links that it creates are links 'Destination', not 'Page/View' type of link. You can also try to manually code these types of links in blocks of text postscript using the pdfmark syntax, but this just to prolong the agony.

  As far as I KNOW, there is not a mechanism via Javascript in Acrobat to add named destinations either.  I found this tool, NameIT, Merlin <> http://www.merlin-os.co.uk/products/nameit/ > who might be able to do, but if you have to acquire something, I would say Shlomo Timesavers are more versatile for users of FM.

  I have Acrobat X Pro. I created the above PDF file that shows hyperlinks as a clickable link to "Read more about it...". A reader asked for a PDF file that it can print, yet he'd out somehow the real URL that the link "more about it..." will. Anyone know of a way that I can provide this?

  I was wondering if there is a function in Acrobat 9 Pro, which will give you a number of hyperlink in a document. I found the function where you can look at a document and get a number of images in a PDF file, but I'm not finding a similar function for hyperlinks.

  You will need Acrobat to add links to a PDF file. (Adobe Reader does not offer this feature). This article helps Acrobat explains the process.

  While the implementation of the links, if you choose to open the file in a new window then you will not experience this issue, then you can simply switch to the file view and previous bookmark will remain as it is.

  There is no limit per document. Links (with hyperlinks to URLS) are not stored all together, but stored for each page. There is no limit per page either but I would begin to worry about performance if there is more than 100 per page.

  Just for fun, I checked how many links there are in the PDF file, I use most often (of about 6000 pages). ; There are 52 000 links inside.
