hyperlinks in the PDF document

Hi, I have bad to create hyperlinks to PDF and online help research indicate that it is possible. Does anyone know how to do this?

Hi nbersaglio,

You will need Acrobat to add links to a PDF file. (Adobe Reader does not offer this feature). This article helps Acrobat explains the process.

Please let us know if you have any additional questions.

  • Hyperlink to the PDF document generated by FM non - FM PDF?

Is there a way to make the FrameMaker to generate a PDF file containing a hyperlink to a PDF file generated by another program?

I use message URL appendix1.pdf = 49 #page, that works, but appendix1.pdf opens in the default browser rather than in Acrobat.

Maybe there's a Microtype utility to add this?

It occurs to me suddenly that if I create a dummy appendix1.fm and use openpage appendix1:49, FM could generate the correct link. I'll try that.

I have no control over the target a PDF file. They are not all named destinations.

You can manually add the numbered page destinations in Acrobat or use Shlomo Perets Timesavers <> http://www.microtype.com/timesavers.html > to add a special type of link to a marker [~ PdfPageLink], which opens the file target on the specified page.

FM always assumes that the marker of the hypertext links that it creates are links 'Destination', not 'Page/View' type of link. You can also try to manually code these types of links in blocks of text postscript using the pdfmark syntax, but this just to prolong the agony.

As far as I KNOW, there is not a mechanism via Javascript in Acrobat to add named destinations either. I found this tool, NameIT, Merlin <> http://www.merlin-os.co.uk/products/nameit/ > who might be able to do, but if you have to acquire something, I would say Shlomo Timesavers are more versatile for users of FM.

  • hyperlinks in a pdf document

    Hello world

I did some searching on the forum and I could not find an answer to my problem. Here it is:

I have an Excel sheet with hyperlinks (associated with the files in the server of my company). I saved the Excel sheet in PDF format. I am therefore able to click hyperlinks in the PDF file. But he just opened my internet browser and nothing happens. When your colleagues are trying on their computers, they receive an error message.

Someone knows how to fix this? Like I said I don't HAVE pdf printing, I saved the xls to pdf.

    Thank you

    Caesar

PS: Windows / Adobe Acrobat X

    Hi Cesar-

Have you checked the URL indicated in the links in Acrobat? This is where you're likely to find the problem.

To check, open your PDF worksheet, follow these steps:

    1. Click on the Tools icon PDF Edit in the right pane.
    2. When the tools load, click on the link drop-down list on the toolbar and select Add/Edit Web or a Document link to identify the links on the page.
    3. Double-click a link to open its properties and check the URL.

  • Why does take 2 or 3 minutes to access a url of a hyperlink in a pdf document?

With Adobe Reader locally or the plug-in on a Web site, it takes a lot of time for a url called by a hyperlink in a pdf document will appear in a browser window. Can anyone explain why this is happening and, hopefully, how to fix?

I tried as simply as on Windows XP with Adobe Reader 11.0.10 and Firefox 36.0 - the link opens instantly.

Try if disable Protected Mode [Edit |] Preferences | (Enhanced) protection] solves the problem.

P.S., Drive 11.0.10 is not officially compatible with Windows XP, but it actually works very well.

  • Windows 8 - How to open the PDF documents and start application Menu choices in the Office of current work?

I have recently upgraded to Windows 8 Professional.

A question that I have, is that whenever I try to open a PDF document, it always opens in a new window dedicated, with a totally black background.

Is it possible to open PDF documents on the desktop, so I can see the content PDF, on the same page as all my other apps open?

Under earlier versions of Windows, can I go to the start menu, then select all applications, and they are listed in the form of office, as all my other applications already open.

In Windows 8 Professional, I have not found a way to reproduce this behavior again!

It keeps taking me to a completely different screen. The one who looks like he could have been created for use with tablets.

I hate this behavior on my regular PC and want to know if there is a way to use the old and classic views.

I don't want to open the application menu in a separate window.

So, two questions: 1) is there a way to open the PDF documents in the current working window? (2) is there a way to disable the display of screen separate application and return to the old start menu request window, in the current working window?

  • Group (combined) in the PDF Document pages

Several years ago, I received a PDF doc that included... How should I say, delivered / grouped pages in the main document... document within a document. At that time, I needed to extract the grouped pages (I forgot how I did it). Now, however, I would like to consolidate (combine / bundle) pages in a PDF document to a document "Sub" - is it possible? Thanks in advance!

    Hello jsborg,

It seems you either worked on PDF Portfolios or PDF files have been attached to the document.

If you work with PDF portfolio you will see an option to extract the PDF document.

In case you the document have other documents as attachments, you can see the document on the right side of the screen here, you should look for an icon that looks like a logo of an attachment, if you are not able to see, it can be disabled. To show you can right click on the bar on the right where you are able to see "Thumbnail" then select the PIN to paper in the form of an attachment (icon). It will appear.

Let us know if you are still facing problems.

  • How to change the page numbers after adding & save page numbers in the pdf document - need to change the existing page printed on the upper right in the header numbers

How to change the page numbers after you add and save the page numbers in the pdf document - need to change the existing page printed on the upper right in the header numbers.

These page numbers were initially created using Acrobat PDF header and footer.

I have a 750 page pdf document that I've created.

I have to sometimes the pages up and down after that I added the page numbers in the document by using the Header_Footer tool on the right column of tools.

But after you save the document, if I get a few pages around, I can't go back and change the page numbers.

I thought that the page numbers, as indicated in the header and footer must have changed automatically, but I guess that once its print, that it cannot be edited - is that, as what is?

So I guess we should always first get a copy without numbers of pages before confirming the documents and the creation of an index.

A way to remove these page numbers already there and add new page numbers.

Its a lot of work to align 750 court documents and then realize that you must move some and then realize the page numbers cannot be changed and thus begin to do this all over again to compile which can take about 10 hours.

My question is quite simple, but I hope that overall, I got my point. Sorry if I made it is too complex.

If no simple way, want to know if anyone has another different tool or a few recommendations to better highlight what I'm doing wrong.

Thank you for your review and response.

You should be able to update with tools - Pages - header & foot-

Update... It not work for you?

If this isn't the case, then try to remove from this menu and then re - adding them.

Mozilla Firefox Acrobat Reader Plugin ignores the security setting of the PDF document.

When, for example, the document is protected against printing (confirmed in Acrobat Reader DC 2015.007 20033) it is possible to print from Mozilla Firefox.

    Environment:

Windows 7, Firefox 38.0, plugin for Adobe Acrobat Reader 15.7.20033.2203

Are you sure that you are using the Adobe Reader plugin and not Firefox "own PDF Viewer? See http://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/pdf-browser-plugin-configuration.html
