I 200 000 pictures in Apple Aperture. I plan to switch to Adobe Lightroom.  Are the current files, order, preferences, Favorites, ratings, etc. stored on each photo, or will it be a difficult transition?

  The other location you mentioned (Lightroom settings) stores the Lightroom presets only when you have "Presets Store with this catalog" checked in Lightroom preferences > Presets tab

  I need a new computer and I am considering buying an Apple rather than Windows-based system.   I have Lightroom 3.6 now running on Windows XP.   Can someone tell me what can I expect if I'm moving to the desktop Apple computer?   Can I upgrade my Lightroom to Apple version free (it is more work on this old computer).    Everything will work the way that I understand it in Lightroom (other that I have use command instead of CTR key).    The menus in Lightroom are more or less in the same place.   Basically, I need to know how to move the whole Apple and if there is no cost.   If possible, it would be useful to know if Lightroom is designed to run on a PC and adapted to run on an Apple, or is it designed to run on an Apple and modified to work with Windows?

  Your serial number will work on Mac and PC. Just download the Mac version of Lightroom and're you good to go. Lightroom is the only cross-platform Adobe app as far as I KNOW, if Photoshop etc. will pass through Adobe for tranistion software for your new machine.

  I'm not a professional photographer, but use a DSLR camera and it's easy to take "too many pictures".  An I take a picture, I keep if the quality is OK.  Records, it does not mean that I want to pay extra to save and it certainly does not mean that I want it on every device I own.  I want to use stars, keywords and projects (this function any name is fine with me) to organize my collection.  I don't want to just find a picture by the date it was taken, but of course, it is the most common research.  I want to have pictures with 2 stars or better in smart folders that I share on my various devices.  I use a smart folder for this today.

  I'm upset that the product has lost support.  I saved the libraries that rely on a programme of work to read (I've lost images in a dark form in the 1990s).  I spent money on a product, expecting to own for many years, but may not be able to download it for a new purchase of computer in 1 year.  I'm not yet sold on the cloud, and that's why.

  Apple has stopped the development of Aperture.  You will be able to use Aperture, as long as you have a computer with an Operarting system which is compatible with aperture.  Don't update your Mac to new versions of the system, unless you know for sure that the new system supports the opening. Don't forget to keep a full backup of your Mac with opening and your version of Mac OS X, so you can revert to this version, if you accidentally updated to a version that does not support opening.

  I have been using lightroom for 1-2 years now after moving to Aperture (already used on the PC for a week). I have about 140 000 pictures and videos on it, of which 95 000 are on lightroom mobile (apparently 90 videos online).

  I love it and I'm frustrated with these 'X Sync photos' on the left. Usually, I had some left of synchronization and collections quickly get photos online, but this isn't the case. I now have 3000 + photos waiting for synchronization (for the most part by adjustment for the photos I guess) and 1 new collection that I created yesterday evening (as there are 10 h) that contains previously downloaded photos no doubt only (and which are online) are simply not showing on my iphone Mobile with Lightroom or the web interface.

  What are the proposals? Can I send a diagnosis form to Adobe to watch? Please do not suggest to remove the file from .ircat to computer synchronization, did before and what I see on the forum is simply not helping issues in sync, I also check the web interface, but I almost 100 000 pictures I looked more later thousands (when I imported all was synchronized) and no. blackened photographs.

  I want to use Lightroom Mobile as much as possible, but it has a lot of problems or is so slow (by the way, I have 50Mbps download and download 5 Mbps). Sometimes, nothing moves for days.

  I'd love to send you any diagnostic file that you want to solve this problem. Really a concern when it should be a smooth experience.

  I think Lightroom should include at least a list of photos that are being synchronized for troubleshooting purposes. This seems to be a common question "X photos not sync for days or stuck.

  When you do a new collection in Office LR I select generally all the thumbnails in this collection and build smart preview on the fly. In the menu: click on library > Previews > build intelligent surveys. I score then the collection for synchronization, and which seems to speed things up. Give it a try.

  You should not reorganize and certainly not to delete them.

  These files are your virtual disk. If you move or delete them as your virtual machine will get corrupted and the chances of data loss figure in your virtual machine or top.

  There is the possibility of having your virtual disk consisting of a single file. However, the thing is that while that may seem better on your eyes, it also means that common tasks like shrinking your disks or deletion of snapshots become more difficult.
