  • How to uninstall Microsoft Office trial on Satellite A200?

I have a Satellite A200. It came with Vista Premium, but I've since upgraded to Ultimate. It came with a 60 day trial of Office 2007, which I'm not interested. I installed Office XP (that works). However the emails etc. documents will be opening in Word 2007. Installation because this causes an error, even if it still seems to work when you get rid of the error message.

What I really want to do, is to uninstall the trial. However he won't let me - it goes through 'Preparation to uninstall' and then disappears and nothing has changed and the program is still there. In the Microsoft Office folder, 2 versions seem to have become intertwined. I uninstalled Office XP and tried to uninstall 2007 after that, but still no joy.

Don't know if it has something to do with the fact that the installation did not complete successfully.
Any ideas anyone on how to get rid of it?

    Val

Usually, you should be able to remove applications in Windows Vista-> software settings.

What you could do is to remove the whole Office 2007. The Office usually remains files here:
    C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office

Then you can use a 3rd party freeware application called CCleaner to clean the registry!

  • Error: "Please wait while Windows configures Microsoft Office 2000 Professional.

How can I get rid of the message "Please wait while Windows configures Microsoft Office 2000 Professional".  Apparently, the system does not find a valid source for this.  To my knowledge, I have not downloaded this software even though I must admit that it does not appear in my list of software.  I tried to remove the screws of the Panel control, but to no avail.

Thank you for your response.  I have now solved the problem by deleting the installation, using the cleanup utility.

However, I appreciate you trying to help me.

  • Microsoft Office 2000 is compatible with Windows 7

I have Microsoft Office 2000 may not work with Windows 7

    Hello Liddiepud,

Thanks for posting on the Microsoft answers Forum.

Outlook 2000 is not supported on Windows 7. There may be workarounds, but this isn't a support software. You can use Outlook 2003 or Outlook 2007 to compatible systems.

You might find some information on the following Web site:

  • Uninstalling Microsoft Office has failed and cannot uninstall or install anything else.

    Original title: install problem HELP

I tried to uninstall Microsoft Office and it failed several times. And since then I have not been able to uninstall or install anything else! A pop-up Windows Installer that says "preparing to install" appears occasionally. I tried about 100 things and nothing really worked! Can someone HELP me please?

I tried before, but nothing helped. I just restore my computer to its factory settings, that fixed it.

  • Try to remove Microsoft Office 2000 Premium to computer

Windows Installer starts and ask the "Microsoft Office 2000 Premium" disc to continue. I have not, as I do not know how this program came on the computer. Cancel the installation and it will recycle in order to continue to try to find and install Microsoft Office 2000. I try to run "Add or Remove Programs" and it gives an error message. I can't delete or fix this program.

It gives an error message like "Code Error 1706".

And if I keep digging and try to find things it says the file 'Data.MSI' could not be found.

Download this file anywhere to get this program on the computer?

There are some reported problems running this version of Microsoft Office on Windows 7. Its also not certified for Windows 7, I suggest you move to a more recent version that works with Windows 7 as Office 2003 or later. Andre Da Costa http://adacosta.spaces.live.com http://www.activewin.com

    Hello

There is no list of what you don't need.

We don't know what programs you have, or what you use.

    It is your personal choice.

    @@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@

See if this helps you improve performance.

Search for malicious software with the FREE version of this program.

And does not accept the option "Pay for the version" trial installation

Download, install, update and scan your system with the free version of Malwarebytes AntiMalware:

    http://www.Malwarebytes.org/products/malwarebytes_free

    @@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@

You can clean your hard drive using these two methods.

    "Delete files using Disk Cleanup"

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows/delete-files-using-disk-cleanup#delete-files-using-disk-cleanup=Windows-8

    Using the free CCleaner program:

    http://www.Piriform.com/CCleaner

In NO case use the registry cleaning Option in CCleaner

    @@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@

Make sure you have the latest updated drivers:

Access the site on your computer or equipment manufacturing > Driver and Software Support Section > search your computer or hardware model number > then your operating system > locate the correct drivers > download and install.

And I would check to see if it has damaged system files.

Each method/step below progresses to another if the first does not all corrupted files which are, etc..

«Use the System File Checker tool to repair missing or corrupted system files»

    https://support.Microsoft.com/en-us/KB/929833

    _________________________________________________

And these eightforums.com tutorials are very detailed for the problems resulting from Scan SFC:

"How to run the command" SFC/scannow"at the start or in Windows 8 and 8.1" . "

    http://www.eightforums.com/tutorials/3047-sfc-scannow-command-run-Windows-8-a.html

Read it in conjunction with the rest of the information they give link above.

    Note

If SFC could not fix something, then run the new command to see if it can be able to next time. Sometimes, it can take by running the sfc/scannow command 3 times restart the PC after each time completely fix everything what he is capable of.

If this isn't the case, then run Dism/online/Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth to repair any corruption component store, restart the PC later and try the sfc/scannow command.

If still no, then try using ONE OPTION above to run the command sfc/scannow at the start

If still no, then you could do a Refresh of Windows 8, or run a System Restore using a restore point dated before the wrong file occurred to fix. You may need to repeat doing a restore of the system until you find a restore point that is older that may work.

If not yet, then you can use the steps in the TIP box in the section THREE OPTION to manually replace the files SFC could not fix.

    __________________________________________________

    "How to update windows 8 and 8.1" . "

    http://www.eightforums.com/tutorials/2293-refresh-Windows-8-a.html

Refresh your PC goes like this:

    • The PC starts in Windows RE (Recovery Eenvironment).
    • Windows RE scans the hard drive for your data, settings, and applications and puts them aside (on the same drive).
    • Windows RE installs a new copy of Windows.
    • Windows RE restores the data, settings, and applications, which it set aside in the newly installed copy of Windows.
    • The PC reboots into the newly installed copy of Windows.

    _________________________________________________

"How to reset Windows 8 and Windows 8.1" . "

    http://www.eightforums.com/tutorials/2302-reset-Windows-8-a.html

"When you reboot your PC, the drive will be completely reset and all your applications and your files will be removed it." Windows 8 will be reinstalled, and you need to change any settings, and then reinstall all the apps you want to come back after the reset. If you know if all the files you don't want to lose, then you must back up these files before you start resetting.

    See you soon.
