  Hello... I know there have been similar questions, but... My laptop Dell what inspiron 6000 has worked well with Windows XP Professional for three years - until, of course, the extended warranty has expired. A bad cluster in my hard disk was forcing me to have the hard drive replaced. I could find no longer reinstall drive came with the laptop and one installed the techie seems to be a trial version for 30 days. I borrowed a disc of relocation from a friend, but it was rejected because it was an older version of professional that was on my computer. I contacted Dell, but I was told there was nothing they could do. It is impossible (at least it was for me) to get a response from Microsoft, much less a solution.

  Dell (or Microsoft) is not a means to check that it is the computer that I bought and all I want to do is get a license key for this computer from my serial number or the Express Service Code, or other?

  I wouldn't spend more money in order to get Windows XP Professional re-installed.

  Recently, I noticed a change to the file my downloads.  I'm used to be able to download something and use the method of sorting by date. Now when I choose this option downloads do not most recent date display and are in no particular order.  I could see some that have been downloaded in 2013, then 2011 and 2014, etc.  This made it impossible to find what I just downloaded.  They are too many in this folder have to keep scrolling to find what I'm looking for.  Is there a solution to this problem?  It must be since I could always sort before and were the most recent at the top of the list and goes down to the old list.
