• I want to type directly into a folder

  When I open a folder, I have my settings set to show me the name, Date modified, Type and size of the file.  What I also would be another column that I can type notes.  I used the .txt files in the past for the documentation, but I is not a good solution for me.  Is it possible with a windows setting or can it be done with another program?

  It depends on what size your notes are - they have to hold in the column.  You can create another column by clicking the header and then bar by clicking more.  Select an option that is not used by the system (summary or title or subtitle or best, comments), and then add the column.  You will now have a place for your notes - it will always be called another name, but you know what it means (as long as they are not too long).  Here is an article on this topic: http://www.mcuniverse.com/Add-Notes-to-Files-Folders.1662.0.html - but you can not use the enhanced program that is linked there because it is not compatible with Vista (thanks David).  I don't know of the program left 3rd than that (even if there is much that add notes on the desktop - but not to the files and folders in Windows Explorer (and I checked several popular sites).

  I have several family tapes I want to transfer directly into my Dell M1530 xps.  I plugged one end of the cable into the headphone jack of the audio cassette player and the other end in making portable computer microphone.  In the Panel, I put the default line.  But I can't get any sound from the speakers.  I have the software loaded on your laptop to sound recording Audacity, but when I try to record from cassette player I get an error message to check my input device.  The cassette player earphone Jack works very well, and the audio cable is a brand-new cable Mediabridge, so I'm pretty confident that they are not the problem.  Can someone help me get these tapes loaded on my laptop?   The company is Sigmatel bankruptcy before 7 came out, then you just use the version of Vista but install in 7 using the Vista compatibility mode. Download the audio driver and extract the files (unzip or decompress and take note of the name of the folder created) but cancel the installation process. Go to the folder on the hard disk to which you have unpacked the driver files. Find the setup.exe file and right-click on it. Select Properties. Find the Compatibility tab and select Vista.

It seems I can save only a bookmark in the zone unsorted bookmarks and then need to open the bookmarks library to move the bookmark to a folder. In the past, you had options to save a new bookmark in an existing folder or create a new folder and save here.
