I can never make a lot of space in my hard drive after back to the top

I regularly save on a hard disk that is attached to Lightroom.  What I've noticed, is the amount of space that I have left is still declining.  After the backup, I used to have over 200 GB of the available MBP 768 GB retina, now, I rarely more than 100 GB.  At some point I'll have no space left at all.  I don't know that I'm doing things correctly.  I noticed that there are duplicate files when I export the. DNG my 645Z or. My A7RII ARW.  So I file raw in LR, the ARW and the .xmp that have been exported (I still name them).  My habit of the end to create more space on my hard drive is to find the .dng and .arw files in the finder, back up to an external hard drive and then remove them from my MBP.  I do not touch other files not named.  What I find good is that even with the hard drive attached, some files are displayed as missing picture.  I can remedy this with a cover of Time Machine, I did a time machine to the top until I backed up (something I always do) images in lightroom.

Could someone tell me what I am doing wrong?  What is the best way to ensure that I have a lot of space?  I can't just buy new laptops all the time when I run out of space.  I save most of my images finished PSCC at the highest quality jpg, so the finished images that are not take total amount of space, but these are not archived on LR that I prefer to use the tag system which uses Mac.

The best approach I've found is always import as of the segregation of records to your home. Make sure that these are backed up by time machine or another mechanism for backup and then if you are not actively using the images in a dated file more copy set in an external hard drive where you keep the same year and the date structure separated. Then in Lightroom, it is a simple case of right (or control), click the folder that you moved in the sidebar of library and select "update folder location" and that it points to the new location of the folder on the external drive. All your images must be accessible as long as external is attached. Now you can remove the folder from your internal hard drive and find space (don't forget to empty the trash).

My main machine is a retina with a 256 GB drive and I easily maintain a 100 of 1000 image catalog Lightroom on it in addition to Photoshop and many other CC software I use (first for most). Most of my images and video life on a large RAID array, but my most recent images months living inside. Easily, you should be able to work with a 768 GB internal. You delete old backups of catalog in Lightroom? By default, Lightroom creates backups of the catalogues that makes every week or so next to the file catalog in a folder "Backups". You don't need to keep a large number of these backups autour. I usually keep only 2 or 3.

  • Make a section of lower song for 30 seconds, then back to the top

I have a song on A2 and a video on V1 and Audio sound on A1. The song starts playing at normal volume, but I want to lower the volume about 30 seconds so I can hear real audio on A1. Then after 10 seconds of this, I want to increase the volume of the song once again.

I know that I can make a cut in the song using the razor blade to the point where I want the song must be lower.

How can I make this bottom piece and not the entire song?

    Thanks in advance

To illustrate the part of the statement by my friend Jeff on key frames, if you just want to turn down the volume visually, as I usually do, so it is what it looks like. Track one is President, two follow the music.

You develop just the track twirling down arrow, the place where you want the volume to start to change you Ctrl-click on the yellow line. Then you will go down a second or so, the chronology and Ctrl + click again. Then you go to where you want the music to start to return to the top and Ctrl-click a third time. Then a second or two on the line do you it once more.

You have now four points on the line. With the help of the mouse you slide in the middle of the line down. You will notice that when you do this, there will be a ToolTip to tell you the fall of the dB. If I remember correctly, a 6 dB drop reduced the volume of half.

See the yellow line on the track two? And the little pointing on the line. I did not a very good job, actually, given that the music should be coming just before the end of the voice and fall just as the voice rises.

  • If I save my phone on iTunes, can I clear my phone and then reconnect to itunes and "restore back to the top", without losing any info?

Verizon is telling me to do this because I have weird battery problems.  They say it's maybe because I'm updating my iphone in wifi instead of using itunes plugged into a computer.

Yes, you can backup your device in iTunes and restore this backup. For detailed instructions, see this support document. Restore your device from an iCloud or iTunes backup - Apple Support

When you add items to a project can then remove the clips?  I'm trying to free up space on my hard drive. Thank you.

Not while you're still editing the project.  When you have completed the project and shared it and are sure that you do not want to do any editing more far, you can delete the whole project.

If you do a significant amount of iMovie editing you really need to put your libray (ies) on a large external hard drive.  Another thing you can do is to divide your work between different libraries and move those that are not currently on a removable drive.

After you import an image (.jpeg) file for the Photos on my Mac app, can I safely delete this image file to save space on my hard drive?

Yes, you can remove the file from the imported image, if you have imported the image as managed.  IE preferences in ave Photos settled on "import: copy items to the photo library" being the default.

  • Deleted files are still too much space on my hard drive, how to make their deleted permanently?

I deleted a large file containing about 60 gigs of my hard drive by sending to the trash and empty the collector, because the car was full.  All files were gone, my computer does not recognize free space and won't let me not defragment the hard drive or save any new data on the hard drive, saying that he is too full.  What should I do?

Either you have an application that saves you from yourself (Norton used to have what we call the "Norton Protected Recycle Bin" which has given a second chance to restore files) or if you have something else take place.

Did you restart after having emptied the Recycle Bin?

Have you run Disk Cleanup (start > run > cleanmgr > OK)

Assuming that the answers to the two questions above is Yes and you are still weak on the disk, download and run JDiskReport, space that will graphically show you what files are taking up space on your hard drive.  For more advice, post back with the identification of the culprits.

If you do not have enough space to install JDiskReport (about 2 MB), here are some ways to save space:

    • Turn off System Restore (right-click on desktop > properties > system restore > check the 'Disable the the system restore on all drives' > OK)
    • Disable Hibernation (Control Panel > Power Options > Hibernate > uncheck > OK)
    • Disable the Indexing Service (instructions here)

When you turn the system restore, make sure that only your system (usually C:\) partition is monitored and then click the settings button in the System Restore tab and adjust the amount of space used by restoring the system to 1 GB.

  • What should I do so that I can make a routine (monthly) BACK to the top without having to allow a program that is not properly validated?

Since July of this year, when I try to back up my computer to HP Envy 17 laptop I get a pop-up window asking if I want to allow the following program to make changes to my computer.  The program is: Microsoft Windows Backup/Windows Hardware Driver verification / valid from 07/12/2009 to 03/07/2011.  Because the validation is obviously outdated, I consider the program run out of appropriate verification, but I can't back up my computer without the program.

Hewlett-Packard said the problem probably occurs because the computer was missing an update of windows.  Updates happen automatically without my intervention.  I bought the new computer, directly from HP in the month of August, 2011 (after the date of validation of program pop up) with Windows 7 Ultimate installed and had no problem backup of my files to a CD until July of this year.  I believe that the problem may be the result of a rather than a missed update windows update.  What should I do so that I can make a routine (monthly) BACK to the top without having to allow a program that is not properly validated?

    • I copyied my all data mobile c drive only to find the top lap always full and on red, nothing, I've known idea how to wipe my drive C clean?, the problem became worse when I was syncing a few songs on my ipod on iTunes as I was told the drive HARD (E) REQUIRED TO BE FORMATED BEFORE so I CAN USE it I have DONE SO and now I've lost all the songs I had out there for my iTunes library, as the HDDrive (E) has NOW BEEN WIPE CLEAN! still, it appears in iTunes but says is not able to lowcate he obveously it was all stored on external disk HARD (E)...
    • . I REALIZE THAT IT IS TWO QUESTIONS
    • IE how do I erase my Cdrive once it has been saved?
    • and is it possible to recover my music deleted from my HDDrive?
    • any help would be that much appritiated cordially Stéphane

If you have formatted the drive E, it is unlikely that you will be able to recover anything that was on him.

You can copy the data files on drive E and then after copying, delete the files that you copied from the C drive.  If you format the drive C or the erase, and then the computer no longer work, as the operating system resides on the C drive.

I suggest that you start by start. Programs | Accessories | System Tools | Cleaning disc and after run to see how much space is available.  After that, copy large data files (music, video, images) in the E drive and then you can delete the C drive.  But if something happens to drive E (as reformat you) what will be lost.

    Hello

Could a right click on the PDF file > open with > choose program by default and select CD player as default PDF Viewer.

You can do it from the control panel as well.

This would make CD player as default PDF Viewer.
