I can not see some files on my network drive, but can browse their

Hello
One of our users are their files and missing files after the letter 'F' on their network drive. I checked on the server, and the files are missing on the server. However, I can browse to and open them. When I look in the windows explorer for this user, I do not see the folders and files passed letter 'F' But if I know the name of a file or folder that is there and manually type the name in the address bar, I can browse on him. For example, there is a folder named IBM. I see not the folder in windows explore. But if I type in the address bar (\\servername\username\IBM), I can see the contents of the file. If the files are there, but we cannot see them. So far only this user is having this problem isn't a question broad system.

I activated the hidden file parameter and it is set to show the hidden files and folders. The server is a windows 2003 SP2 Enterprise

Thanks for your help

In the Explorer of-> tools-> view (tab), Folder Options->

In addition to checking "Show the hidden files and folders", try unchecking the "Hide protected operating system files" two lines down.  It will ask if you are sure you want to do this - simply replies 'yes '.

If it turns out that the system attribute has been applied to the file, you will not be able to change it in the Properties window.  You will need to use the "Attrib" command  See the following procedure article:

«You cannow view or change the read-only or system attributes of folders... under Windows XP...» »

  • Why can I not see my file in Lightroom?

I have a problem see a file in LR 4.2 when it is located in the folder where I want it to be.

I created a composite tiff image of two raw files residing in two different folders.  I had exported the two LR like TIFF raw files, open the TIFF in Photoshop CS5, then grouped into a file of multilayer tiff to create a composite file 600 + MB.  This composite was recorded in Photoshop, under a new file name using the "save under".  I knew that the new composite file would not be in the LR catalog, until I imported it.   When I imported, the picture went in a new folder named date (call the folder "A").  So far, it all makes sense to me.

From that point on things got funny.  Working in LR, I tried to move the composite single file in the folder that make up one of the files is from (let's call it 'B' folder).  The move has failed. Instead, I got an error message saying that the file already existed in 'b '.   I couldn't see the file in 'B' using lightroom, but MS Explorer revealed that the file was there.  I don't understand how he got there.

Still trying to get my composite 'B' recognized by LR, I first deleted the composite 'B' using Explorer, then went into LR and moved the file 'A' (where recognized LR), in 'B '.   Still not good.  LR does not display the file in 'B', but it appears in the Explorer.

I guess I could live with this composite file into its own folder, 'A', but this isn't really where I want to.  More importantly, I don't understand why I can't see in LR in the folder where I want to.

    Help is appreciated.

    My catalog file is corrupted?

The XMP files have something to do with it?

The size of the file (> 600 MB) a factor?

    Any suggestions?

    Win 7, LR 4.2, PS CS5.

    TIA

    Jerry

    Problem went away this morning!

I tried this step once again (again) after my computer starts:

Still trying to get my composite 'B' recognized by LR, I first deleted the composite 'B' using Explorer, then went into LR and moved the file 'A' (where recognized LR), in 'B '.

This time it worked, the file moved successfully and normally appears in LR.

Don't know if the re-booting helped, or I made a stupid mistake that healed a good night sleep to.  If later, I apologize to all those who are scratched their heads on this one.

    Thank you

  • Help! My computer is blind not see my files

I have AutoCAD LT 2004 and running it on Windows Vista. I have a very strange and frustrating problem.  Windows Explorer does not see my most recent AutoCAD drawing files. To save all my drawings on the following path: C:\Program Files\AutoCAD LT\Drawings 2004. In the drawings folder is where I put all my files of drawings. When I bring up Windows Explorer and look inside this folder of drawings, all of my old drawings are listed, but none of the most recent files are listed.  And I KNOW THE FILES IN THIS FOLDER because I can open them in AutoCAD.  Inside of AutoCAD when I click the icon to open the file, it goes to this folder of drawings and lists ALL my files, more ancient and more RECENT. When I open one of my recent drawings, on the top of my screen designs where is shows the name of the file, it displays the full path and it's the path C:\Program Files\AutoCAD 2004 LT\Drawings. But when I followed this path in Windows Explorer, the file is not listed. It's like AutoCAD can see the file in the folder of my drawings but my computer cannot. This causes a real problem because when I do my BACKUP, the most recent drawings are not copy on my external hard drive. This was recently a real problem because I needed to RESTORE a file from my backup drive, but couldn't, because it was not.  Any ideas on what is happening here?

    Hi Loydclayton,

    ·         You have problems with this file?

    ·         You upgrade Autocad?

The folder may be hidden, encrypted or there could be a change in the settings folder.

Using the files in the Panel Options, you can change how work your files and folders, as well as the display of the content in your folders.

You can reset the folder options and check if it works.

    1. click on Start > Control Panel > appearance and personalization

    2. click on options files > view , then click on records reset.

    3. check if you are able to see your files.

    4. you can also check if the folders are hidden.

  • Unable to see some files in Windows Explorer

I installed WebEasy V4 under Vista.  The program installed in the Program Files (x 64), and I see these files.
WebEasy default sends output in c:\Program Communications\WebEasy\Html v files.  Another program (WS_FTP) inheritance can see these files at this location and can touch.  However, Windows Explorer does not display this path or files, although it shows the path under c:\Program Files (x 64), but the files are not displayed.

Windows search does not find the files.

Turn off UAC does not change the results.

I worked around this problem by changing the default output path in WebEasy.  But it remains to determine how to access to the files of the user being hidden by Vista.  There are two directories 'User', and the files are not in both.

    Lorien,
Your first suggestion to display hidden files in the Explorer did not have an obvious change.
The second suggestion (research on the whole disc) not went exactly as you have submitted.  Instead of a dialog box, it came with a Google search.  Somehow, Google Desktop got installed on this machine.  Don't remember how.
Anyway, following up further on your second suggestion, I brought the C-drive in Windows Explorer and then launched the research from there and by selecting the advanced search options, as you indicated.  This search took several minutes to complete, but eventually found the files.  They are here:
    C:\Users\Wendy\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program v Communications\Web Easy\Html

In my previous attempts of roaming around looking for the file, I saw "AppData" because it is a hidden system directory.

Another interesting result of this exercise:

In my original post, I indicated the legacy WS_FTP program showed the files exactly where the path to easy Web made by browsing the tree.  However, when I disabled UAC, then WS_FTP did not see the files there because there was no path of files V Communications programs.

    Thanks for your help.

  • As I was deleting some files from my hard drive, I came across some files that I couldn't remove with a message saying remove wite protection.

As I was deleting some files from my hard drive, I came across some files that I couldn't remove with a message saying remove wite protection. Help!

This error indicates that an application is using this file at this point here. If you are unable to remove it, restart your computer and then try to delete it.

IF YOU ARE NOT SUCCESSFUL WITH THE above METHOD, THEN TRY to USE UNLOCKER, a free application that disables the application using the file that you want to delete.
    Download unlocker from here-http://www.filehippo.com/download_unlocker/
Click on the above link and click on download the newer version on the right side of the screen.
Download UNLOCKER from the link given above and install it. (you may need to restart the computer)
Right-click on the file you want to delete, and then click unlocker.
A new window opens showing all applications using this file.
Select all files, and then click on unblock.
Now right-click on the file you want to delete, and then click on remove.
YOUR FILE WILL BE DELETED SUCCESSFULLY.
If you are still unable to delete that file and unlocker shows no application, then follow these steps-
Right-click on the file you want to delete and click unlocker.
    A small window will appear.
In the drop-down list, choose delete, and then click ok.
Your file will be deleted on the next reboot of the system.

  • Why can I not see my files or files on my flash drive?

I bought a 64 GB USB flash drive to make a copy of some files (mainly of the wavs and mp3s into folders and subfolders several).  I drag some of them in the flash player and wait until the bar fills and the 'task' was over.  At this point, I can see the files.  I'll work and return with files over again to copy and when I open the flash drive in the viewfinder, I see nothing.  I try to copy the previous files (because they seem to not be there) and it is said that they ARE there.  Why is this and how do I solve this problem so I can see what was copied and what does not?

I also get these weird errors if I try out something.  It's never happened before.  I'm quite confused.

  • Windows 7 can not "see" the files on my external hard drive all of a sudden after I used ICACLS to give me full control.

I used ICACLS in a command prompt high to give me all permissions for all on the external hard drive. I do not share the disk or remove permissions from any other 'user' but all of a sudden the guest not to see the files on the disc and I don't know what to do about it. But when I open a window and go outside, the files are there, I can access it, use them in all cases, I would normally.

Anyone has an idea why an elevated command prompt would not be able to see the files that are clearly on the external hard drive? There is just something not right on command prompt, you see only not the files that are there.

    Thanks in advance

Update: it turns out that there seems to be some kind of conflict between the UAC and the Administrators group. Don't know how I was touched, but I finally finished refusing authorization in writing system on my external hard drive. Suddenly Builtin Administrator, users of Builtin and NT Authority stood, one of them, or another group, resumed training, locked read-only access to all files, and then he took it a little further and removed my ability to write attributes or read them. I was forced to use a back up 'Admin I have on standby with a third I reapplied my main administrator permissions, but still denied access. After doing things with ICACLS, I was able to get a partial control, but I still couldn't save.

At the end of the road, it turns out that an external hard drive formatted in NTFS is recognized by the computer as a disk fixed, as if it were part of the computer, and there it was treated as such, given my file system files by locking the.

Even with the hidden Builtin Administrator I activated, I couldn't access the files. I finally had to move all the girls to the drive c:\ and format the external drive with exFat so that the system do not think that he was part of the computer. Unfortunately, I can never depend on having a System Image backup because exFat cannot have a writing for her.

I have full access, as well as anyone and everyone, there is no permissions on exFat, so it's a compromise, better than the system for the control of my own computer ruined combat...

  • In Outlook Express, can not see the file tab, such as page moves right

I can't move the Outlook Express mail page to the right.  It just won't go further to the right.  I get the arrow on the right side, but he doesn't hover over.   So I don't see the file, only a part of the Mail tab tab (-Arnaud).

It is not really clear what you mean.  You can move the entire window of OE by clicking on the title bar (blue at the top of the window) and hold the mouse and then moving the mouse.  It is also not clear what you hear on the mail tab and the file tab.  Are you sure you're saying OE and not Outlook?  You can also try view | Layout to change what is displayed.

  • Why can I not see the files I back up by using the backup and restore of Vista

Can someone help me?  I have a Dell Inspiron 1525 and implemented backup and restore feature Vista so that every Sunday he automatically backs up my computer to my external drive.  I was on the computer when he said it starts up and that upward was completed successfully.  I assummed everything was fine until today when I show my father my drive external and noticed that none of the backup of files were there... or at least I did not see them.  The only files on the disk were the ones I put manually on here from my old computer.  I then ran a manual upward using Vista and again it says backup successfully completed.  I then watched the external hard drive and once again no new files.  The strange thing is the back up and restore program shows all the dates he has saved and also allows me to restore files from the back to the top.  To do this, I deleted a file I didn't really need out of my hard drive and then is gone to restore program and found the file and restored.  Problem is that the program does not say where he makes the file from.  What is going on?  Are backup files of certain types of hidden file I don't see unless I use the backup and restore program under vista?  I am currently running Vista Home Premium on a 32 bit system and the external hard drive I have is a Western Digital My Book Essential Edition.

Windows backup is stored in a folder with the same name as your computer.  Open a command prompt and type echo %ComputerName% or startup, right-click on computer, properties.  You should see that % ComputerName % folder on your external drive, and in this context, a backup set.
