  I just bought the oil paint PS Action modules and I am not able to install it in Photoshop.

  I suspect that your problem is that the installer of the action is not compatible with Photoshop CC2015. Modern versions of Photoshop do not use the old Extension Manager and so if the developer has not updated their actions, you will not be able to use them. I tried to find your action but it seems around a bit, but it seemed likely

  Usually, if a driver update does not solve this problem, that means generally that the card does not support the required version of OpenCL, which means that if you really want to use the oil paint filter, you will need to buy a new graphics card. If you play a lot of games advanced then maybe a new graphics card might have additional benefits, but for Photoshop impact higher end graphic cards very little enforcement of the program and could be a waste just to get the oil paint filter works. You have an alternative in a plugin called "Topaz" Impression that requires no OpenCL, it is faster than the oil paint filter and gives superior results - which begs the question, why Adobe insisted on OpenCL implementation in the latest Photoshop for me? Might find a trial.

  Hello, can someone help me to explain why the oil paint filter is always gray in my version of photoshop CC 2015 update.  I tried to update several times to see of it will appear after update and restarted my pc but it still isn't available.  It says I have the latest version.

  See this: oil paint is gray

  Don't forget that opencl is checked. If it is grayed out and you can't, something in your card is less than the needs.

  You uncheck help > OpenCL leInfosection system that OpenCL meet the minimum specs for the oil painting.

  It is very good that the filter of the oil painting is reintroduced in the new update, but I think it should be improved. It could be better.

  Once the filter oil painting left 2014 CC Photoshop I resorted to use the mobile app to reach oil painting effect.

  Please make sure that your system meets the following requirements to run the oil paint filter:

  • 1024 x 768 display (1280 x 800 recommended) with 16-bit and 512 MB of VRAM colors (1 GB or more of VRAM is recommended)
  • To use the acceleration OpenGL, your system must support OpenGL 2.0 and Shader Model 3.0 or later version
  • To use the OpenCL acceleration, your system should support OpenCL 1.1 or later

  If your system meets the conditions set out above, then follow the steps below:

  • Choose Edition > Preferences > Performance (Windows) or Photoshop > preferences > Performance (Mac OS).

  • In the results panel, make sure that the graphics processor use is selected in the settings section of the graphics processor.
  • Click Advanced settings and specify the following options: make sure open CL must be verified.

  I'm disappointed 'not' to find the filter oil painting in PS CC 2014.  But all the old old filters are always available.  I'm on an experimental basis for the CC.  Try LR... and PSCC

  It's still there to 14.2.  If you have the disk space, it's a good idea to keep 14.2 installed with CC 2014 due to problems like the oil painting, and all the Flash coded extensions that does not work with CC 2014.  I know it's a PITA swapping them and you can have them both open at the same time, but I hope that most of the Flash/HTML5 problems will come just in time.  Much old extensions have now been redone with HTML5 as a guide, but who has been replaced by a higher quality tool that comes with CC 2014.  I do however Miss of Dmonzon tools.
