My 'side' of the computer has suddenly lost all my settings.

In the last days, when I opened my "side" of our computer, my original settings have disappeared. I had to search to find my documents (always there, but required a research); the office is not my own wallpaper; the "Start" menu has been restored; and, apparently, I have to reconfigure my settings. "" My wife is very well. The first time it happened, I rebooted. The computer showed me a blue screen and started a scan of the hard drive. He apparently removed a number of files automatically - do not know what they were. I use Norton 360 and look for the updates and quick analyses, every day. Any help would be appreciated.

It sounds as if your user profile is damaged and that Windows has created a new profile based on the default template (which, naturally, does not all custom data from your original profile).

The best way to deal with such a situation is to create a new profile and then remove all the profiles used more copy the information from the damaged one.

You will need to use a profile with "computer administrator" privileges to follow the instructions below.  If your woman profile has privileges, then you can use it.  Otherwise, you can log in to the built-in "Administrator" account (default password is empty, that is, no password).  The account 'Administrator' are accessible from the homescreen mode without failure or (for XP Pro only) in the home screen with no one else connected by pressing twice CTRL + ALT + DELETE).
