  If you have a music video, your friends sing you could install a flash drive on the Web site. If it is just an audio file, you must download the file to a file free host then post a link to the file on the Web site.  If Windows Media Player comes into play depends on what media player the person clicking the link used as their default media player. Windows Media Player will play no role in the file on your website. The link below contains a list of free audio files, hosting sites.   Try this: plug in your mp3 player and when XP recognizes it open up Windows Explorer then Tools > file options > make sure Show Hidden Files etc. is checked. Your mp3 should theoretically appear in the roor on the left file pane. Then copy and paste to your PC/laptop

  The above of course depends on which mp3 player you have. Some appear as a storage device to mass media (where you can see their "hard drive") but others don't.

  • What version of Windows are you using?

  1. it is possible that you are missing the codec to play the file or it is clashing with other codec files.

  3. yet we cannot be sure at this point that the issue is due to interference with some files.

  Method 1:
  Alternatively, you can perform a restore of the system to a previous point, when the issue was not present.   Method 2:
  You can determine which codec was used with a specific file; read the file in the player, if possible. When the file is playing, right-click the file in the library, and then click Properties. On thefile tab, look at the Audio codec and Video codec sections.

  Then you can uninstall any installed codec and install that you need to do the job file.

  If you have several codec for the single file to work they can clash and cause problems.

  CD - R is very good.  The only difference between the two is that the written warning is much slower to write, but can be reused on a limited number of times.
