You're probably the infection from a site like Cnet (aka download.cnet.com). I start to use snapfiles.com for installing programs and use the WOT addon.

  • Why I can't delete Yahoo search suggestions in the navigation bar? How can I remove the DNS of Yahoo error page?

Maybe that's two questions. Both pooped upward with a recent update. I do not have yahoo extensions or add-ons installed.

    (a) I type a URL in the navigation bar (NOT the search box), and all of these 'useful' pop-up suggestions. Do stop.

    (b) I type wrong address in the navigation bar (NOT the search box) and I get a Yahoo to "links" page Do stop.

Thank you. I have the screenshots I can post too.

Found the solution. It's an add-on: uTorrentControl3 by conduit. I've disabled to check and uninstalled then when I saw it was the question.

I downloaded an album and had to rearrange songs about it.  I made a playlist and put everything in the right order.  I am now able to remove the songs in the list of music that aren't in the right order

It seems that your localization of Firefox no longer has the default Yahoo search plugin.

Scroll down to 16. Key drivers and select the search plugin from Yahoo appropriate for your locale.

    Hi Ron,

Have you looked at article in the Knowledge Base using the search in Firefox bar? There are lots of good information in there. You happen to have an installed Yahoo! toolbar? You must disable or delete as well if you do. Try to start Firefox in Mode safe mode by holding down the SHIFT key while starting Firefox. If you have any problems using the safe, it's a matter of add-on or extension.

    Hope this helps!

  • How can I completely delete yahoo from firefox

I continually changed my yahoo to Bing search engine, but every time that I re - open Firefox, my search engine is reset on Yahoo. I'm about to quit using firefox, because I can't get rid of Yahoo. I heard that many others have had this problem as well, so I suggest do you something. If I can't solve this, im back to chrome.

    Thank you

Try to delete the file search.json and possible search - metadata.json and search.sqlite files in the profile folder of Firefox to reset the default search engines.

Firefox will rebuild the file search.json from the default search engines in the folder "browser\searchplugins" in the Firefox program folder and the searchplugins folder in the Firefox profile folder.

You can use this chrome URI in the address bar to open the window previously used to manage search engines and possibly bookmark this page.

Thank you very much

Yes, my problem is now sorted, I sent to microsoft. It paste the exact steps, he gave me. I don't think it worked at first, but he did, I wasn't sure if it was because I closed my windows so restarted after you follow the steps, try closing and re-opening your window or restart the computer from the NIF who always shows your story. Let me know how you go

    ACTION PLAN:

1: click on start at the bottom on the left and in the search box type start run and press on enter on the keyboard.

2: once a window open run type inetcpl.cpl and click ok.

3: click on the tab content under it, click on the settings tab, under AutoComplete.

4: after you click on settings a window open named auto complete by parameters

Clear browsing history and click on ok in this window.

5: then click on internet properties window to apply and then click ok.

  • How can I delete google custom search bar of about: newtab page

When I open Firefox or a new tab I updated: newtab which is great and all. Recently, I noticed a Google search bar on the new tab page, however, it immediately affect my cursor. I type in the address normal upstairs bar. If I do not do that tedious extra step click on the address bar before typing, it opens on Google Custom Search Engine. Has no images, maps, etc. the tabs along the top. Make a simple task to find something or other but just that much more boring to do, because I have to type in the address in bar.

So I was hoping there is a way to remove this search bar Google annoying custom of my remarks: newtab?
Or at least get my cursor in the address bar, not the bar Google Custom Search.

This is a screen-cap of the search bar. http://gyazo.com/d75ccdea9b9d0bb4a3d347664be73771

Sometimes a problem with Firefox can be a result of malware installed on your computer, you may not be aware of.

You can try these free programs to search for malicious software that work with your existing anti-virus software:

  • I can't open links in google search using Firefox.

I can open the links when I search with Bing or Yahoo and Google looking for work when I use IE, so it's only when I use Google with Firefox. Also, if I try to open links in a new tab, I get error 404. For example, if I try to open bbc.co.uk/news from the search page it does not do anything, if I try to open it in a new tab I get Error 404 and this string in the address bar: https://www.google.com/url?sa=t & rct = j & q = & esrc = s & source = web & cd = 1 & cad = AJLN & uact = 8 & ved = 0CB4QFjAAahUKEwjEzpKmif3IAhUM9GMKHQZeClQ & url = http %3 has % 2F % www.bbc.com%2Fnews 2F, & usg = AFQjCNFZIG7IKy3foMCFY0dzRExKv9KjFQ

I tried refreshing Firefox and disabling add-ons; I don't know what else to do.

I have Windows 10, if this has something to do with the problem.

You can try to delete the files (extensions.json and extensions.ini) extensions.* and compatibility.ini in the profile folder of Firefox to reset the extensions registry.

New files will be created if necessary.

    See "extension corrupted files:

If you see disabled extensions or is not compatible in "Firefox button/Tools menu > Modules > Extensions ' and then click the Tools button at the left end of the search bar to check if there is an update available compatibility.

If that didn't help then also delete the addons.json file and the file prefs.js reset setting pref of the extension of the Protection of Kaspersky.

You can use this button to go to the current Firefox profile folder:

  • Despite my constant removal of Yahoo in all search preferences, it keeps returning automatically to my defaul for Firefox search. Help, please! I hate Yahoo!

Despite my constant removal of Yahoo in all search preferences, it keeps returning automatically to my defaul for Firefox search. Help, please! I hate Yahoo!

On Mac, this most commonly seems to be caused by Spigot or pipe modules, or something else that snuck in without being detected with other software that you downloaded.

Please try to disable all non-essential or unrecognized extensions on page modules. Either:

    • CMD + SHIFT + a
    • "3-bar" menu button (or tools) > Add-ons

In the left column, click Extensions. Then, in case of doubt, disable (or delete). Especially if you find something called SearchMe.

Often, a link will appear above at least an extension disabled to restart Firefox. You can complete your work on the tab and click one of the links in the last step.

Is that what helps you regain control?
