My computer came with Windows 7.  Recently, my hard drive failed.  I have four recovery disks that after I bought my computer, I did.  These disks can be used to install Windows on the new drive?

    YES!

I just did mine 01/01/2016, installed a new WD 500 GB HDD black on my laptop ASUS K52F, took my DVD 4 restore disks and restored to Win 7 Home Premium, more 10 Windows, which is sitting on my old HDD in the trash. I'll stick with my Original OEM OS and never improve to WIN 10 times.

NOTE: The only time the restore disks do not work is when you replace your motherboard.

  • Can I install Windows 7 product key on office and reinstall it on the new laptop when it arrives?

Hello everyone, I had to order a laptop for school. But it is still not there, so I had to install windows 7 and office 2010 on my old computer at home to do my school work. When my laptop is here, can I reinstall XP on my old computer and put my copy of windows 7 on the new laptop? Or is the product key now linked to my old computer?

If you have purchased commercial versions, then you're OK.

If you have bought OEM Windows 7 and activated, then the license is locked to the old PC (although you might try to discuss your case with MS)

  • How do you get the product key from a pre installed Windows verion

    I bought a computer comes with windows 8 pro 64-bit pre-installed already.

Where can I find the product key for this.  It is not revenue anywhere.

With Windows 8, Microsoft changed stickers that have the product key that the user must type in during the installation of the operating system of new embedded BIOS product key. The idea is that by eliminating the tile, you eliminate one of the easiest ways for nefarious users get a legitimate product key. The sticker also eliminating product key removes any concern that the vignette could get damaged while at the same time eliminating the long and irritating the process of typing in various letters and numbers in the installation of the operating system.

If the user has to reinstall the operating system on a computer with Windows 8, the installation process automatically captures key software product of the motherboard BIOS without input from the user. This means that these stickers familiar windows product key will no longer appear on Windows 8 computers.

  • product key or re/UN/install Windows 7

My toshiba satelilite was not to let me sign basically it was just login and then no mouse or any other available control start-up. So I installed my Windows 7 Professional on my PC just so that I could get my laptop on the website of Toshiba to re - install the original software and now I can't uninstall or reinstall or anything to install. My laptop says simply not true and unable to update the new need product key. My sticker on the bottom of my laptop is easier to get into and all my equipment is legal, and my software is real help please.

    Option 1:

If the COA sticker is damaged, you must use the recovery partition to reinstall Windows 7, it will be exempt from the need to use the product key to activate your installation of Windows 7.

    Option 2:

If your recovery partition is not available or damaged, you must contact the manufacturer of your computer, and request that a defined recovery disk you can use to reinstall Windows 7. They could practice a small shipping and handling. This will exempt the need to also use the product key.

    Option 3:

If neither options 1 or 2 is possible, then you will need to invest in a new license of full version of detail.

  • I bought windows 8 pro discs, then my computer is dead, I can install it on the new computer of windows 8 and how do I do this?

Also, what is the difference between the pro version and the Windows 8.1 update? I'm not a pro like you old guys, simple answers would be really appreciated, thanks.

    Hello

Thanks for posting your question in the Microsoft community!

    1. Yes, you can re - install Windows 8 on a different computer.  Before you re-install in another computer, please make sure that you remove Windows 8 to the computer that you have already installed software license terms Microsoft lets a copy must be installed on one computer only.
To remove Windows 8 of the current computer, you must perform a clean installation of Windows 8. Install with previous operating system drive (Windows 7\ Vista\XP). This removes Windows 8 in the current computer and install the previous operating system.
Note: You may lose all your data when you perform a new installation, so please back up all data before installing the previous operating system.
Once you have removed Windows 8 from the current computer, download Windows 8 in the new computer and install. When installing, please provide the same license key that you used during your first installation of Windows 8. You can also find this key in the purchase confirmation email that you received.
    2. As your second question, Windows 8.1 will be a free update for users of Windows 8. Which means, you must have a version of Windows 8 in order to install Windows 8.1. Windows 8.1 brings updates for the Windows 8 Pro(or any other Windows 8 version). See the following links to learn more about Windows 8.1:

  • Windows can handle a disc SSD and HDD together? Is it better to install Windows on the SSD drive?

Can Windows take the advantages of Solid State Drives and hard drives and know where to write or suggest?

Is it better to put Windows on a SSD and programs like word and save files on hard drive?  Also maybe windows might do a B/H on the HD.

I think that that's where computers go.  Either all SSDS like Mac book air or a hybrid of the two and is ready for her Windows or do we wait for an update to Windows 7 or Windows 8?

You need at least a 60 GB SSD (or more) to install Windows on. The traditional hard drive can be used to store data files.

  • How to 'disconnect' of all computers so I can install applications on the new OS

    Hi guys,.

Ive had a problem.  I have CC apps installed on two old computers, which is DOA, the other was recently reimagee.  My CC license allows two installs at the same time, and I have more access to applications on these "computers" to uninstall / they are disconnected.

My incredible access to Adobe help last week gave rise to a chat session of four hours in which he ended by telling me to go on the forums (thank you very much..).  Now my access help took end and im not about to get the problem solved.  I looked to cancel my subscription and start a new, but because it was purchased through an enterprise agreement, apparently id is locked this buyback until September when I started it.

Any ideas?  In the past, ive consulted software doubtful, but is gone for the right option and paid correctly this time... and honestly look of piracy being prompted again.

  • I bought Creative Suite 5.5 in 2012 on disk. How I can install this on the new Macbook pro?

My old Macbook Pro died this year, so I bought a new Macbook Pro without a hard drive.

To install CS 5.5, I tried to copy the contents of the drive in an external USB HDD via another computer.

When I try to start the installation, told me that 'the installer could not be initialized. Get Adobe Support Advisor to record the problem' (translated from Danish, then it may not correct).

However Adobe Support Advisor is discontinued, so I can't follow these instructions.

What would be the proper way to install it to a Macbook Pro without a hard drive?

Any help appreciated. Thanks in advance.

  • Can I transfer to the new computer hard drive with the operating system

I am building a new computer and want the best way to transfer my data.  I can transfer the data to a new SATA drive and then install the new drive in the new computer without having to do anything else.   Or I can install XP on the new computer first then do the transfer queue using the old IDE drive in a portable USB enclosure?  or?

    TKS

    John

    Sort that works is great.

If you use the USB case, make sure that it can provide enough power to the drive.  Usually this isn't a problem if the old drive was a laptop computer but can be a problem if it was a desktop drive.

Assuming that your old computer still works, the easiest is to put all the files you want to transfer to a folder, and then share this folder on the network.  Connect both computers to your home network, then simply attach to the shared folder on the network from the other computer and drag and drop your files to your new computer.

  • Where can I find my product key?

    find my product key

It is on the side, bottom or back of your computer.  It is an alphanumeric code 25-digit 5 sets of 5 numbers separated by dashes.  Have you already reinstalled or is the old system still on the machine - if so some software can recover it (let me know).

    Good luck!
