  I could be wrong, but I think the tool 'tool shape history' exists only in the full Photoshop...

  The interface has been changed in version 10, and you'll save time by looking at the different tutorials about it.

  The tool options palette is on the background, you can open it in the horizontal icon bar: second icon of the tool option palette or a first for the photo tray.

  Quick selection tool has a button to improve the contour in the top option bar.  Click for a dialog improve the contour and RADIUS is the cursor at the top.
