  As redhawk says you get a few problems with the installation because of a SATA HDD.
  You have the right driver to install it.
  But why you don t use a different distribution of Linux such as Knoppix?
  You can use Windows XP and Linux at the same time! You n t need to install Knoppix on the HARD drive because you can boot Linux from the CD or the DVD. It works very nice to you have all options and functions.
  In my opinion, you should change your linux and try the Knoppix

  Just to clarify something:

  -If you want to install Windows XP Home edition, but do not change the BIOS settings (leave it in AHCI mode) at the beginning of the procedure of facilities you must load a SATA driver by pressing F6. That's only way to install Windows XP Home edition with success

  To my knowledge of Toshiba you recommend to use only the graphics drivers from Toshiba and if you want to use the drivers of manufacturing one another so you can do it at your own risk.
  Some people have suggested that the graphics drivers from Toshiba are slightly changed due to overheating of the card. You know, if the laptop cooling modules get a limit of performance of the graphics card driver decreases the performance of the card in order to reduce the temperature.

  I think the original Intel driver does not support this feature and that is why it s advisable to use the drivers from Toshiba.

  You can install Win 7 If you want to.
  First, go to the BIOS (press F2 during boot)
  In the BIOS disable secure boot with UEFI MSC mode.
  Save the changes and now you could boot from Win 7 disc and could launch the installation.
