  My question: can I install my W7 pro during the latest oem with a formatting HD {or what it's called in English}? I've never done before, so I'm kinda a noob. A site Dutch, there was also a suggestion to format the HD first, then I need to go to my BIOS and change the settings of my BR_rom in master etc. otherwise the installation cd does not work... etc.

  Have you done your recovery disks according to the instructions from HP? If this is not the case, what to do now.

  You won't gain much by installing your version of win7 pro rather than the version provided by HP. If you install your version it will be via install a clean place, you start on the cd of win and early in the process when you have the possibility to the place where you install delete all partitions found on C: then continue installation to utalise all the space of the C: drive. After that you will need to install the drivers of HP support system

  Using this method any partition hidden HP recovery & tools will be destroyed and all on the PC

  (If you have used the HP recovery disk to return to factory settings, the drivers would be installed as part of the process)

I also have my old hard drive in my new build with all my old files and the operating system on it (I also cloned it on an another HARD drive so that if something was wrong, I have a backup of all my files). But anyway, my question is if there is a way to ONLY my my my old HDD SSD new operating system without wear on all programs (because with all the other programs, its not going to adapt). I realize that there is a small chance that it is possible to do that, so my other option would be to just do a fresh install on my SSD with my windows of my old computer disk. I called Microsoft technical support regarding my problem and they said, is that the only way to a successful installation is to buy a new product key, because otherwise it will not work. They said that the only way to get around the purchase of a new key is to uninstall windows on the old disk and then you will be able to use the key on the new SSD. The only problem with this is I have no way to boot the old disk, as this would require completely rebuild me my old computer which I just can't do (I already tried to start on the old drive in the new computer). Anyway, if you guys know anyway which would solve all my problems, that would be great, because I can't afford to buy a new windows product key.

  Support for Microsoft people are correct. The only option is to not use or attempt to start the drive on the new computer (of course you can use it as a data drive) this will allow you to use at least the license on the SSD.

  Yes, the product key works independently of the architecture (32- or 64-bit), so you can use the same product key used to activate 32-bit Windows 8 Pro with 64-bit Windows 8 Pro.

  You won't find any IDE or SATA settings in the BIOS. The problem is that you have not installed the SATA driver that is needed to install the XP on this laptop.

  Intel Matrix Storage Manager is the key!
  The storage manager should be included in the Windows XP operating system during the installation process using the F6 key.
  On the other hand, you could include the Storage Manager using the free app called nLite.

  I have a Compaq Presario CQ60-320SA, which came with Vista Home Premium 32-bit and do a new install of 7 Pro 64-bit.  Now I want to go back but F11 does not work, and there is no recovery for a reason Manager any. The recovery partition is still there.

  I don't have useful recovery discs because when I tried to make them when I got the laptop, the process has failed for an unknown reason (I asked the TechGuys, who suggested to use a better quality than DVD, but I don't bother).
