I can't install Windows updates security for Microsoft Office System 2007: 646 error Code
I can not install the following Windows updates:
Update for Microsoft Office System 2007 security:
Update of security for Microsoft Office Excel 2007 (KB982308)
Update of security for Microsoft Office InfoPath 2007 (KB979441)
Update of security for Microsoft Office PowerPoint 2007 (KB982158)
Update of security for Microsoft Office Word 2007 (KB982135)
Update of security for Microsoft Office System 2007 (KB982312)
Update of security for Microsoft Office System 2007 (KB982331)
I get the error code 646. If someone could help me, I would appreciate it.

Here's what I recommend you do:
1. disable UAC (do this if you are using Vista or Windows 7, otherwise, go to step # 2). Comes down
restrictions - turn it off completely.
2 restart your computer for the change to take effect.
3 re - download the update of security for Microsoft Office System 2007 (KB982331) from the link below:
http://www.Microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=7f89a734-cda4-4abb-9a10-f6dfe560e8d0&displaylang=en
4. install. It should work fine.
5. If it still does not work, try to open all or part of your MS Office applications (such as MS Word, MS Excel, etc.).
6. follow steps 3-4.
7. If it still does not work, follow step # 3 again. After you download it, try unplugging your computer from
Internet (unplug the internet cable or turn off the modem). Then, try to install the downloaded file
(KB982331). It should work this time.
Do the same for all the updates that come with KB982331, IF ANY.
Let me know your results.

1 - is the only update that's been prompt to download it again?
2. do you have security software installed on the computer?
Method 1
Usually, this would happen if the update is not installed correctly even after trying it manually from the installation of the update.
I suggest that you completely remove this update and then download and install it manually and check.
(a) open the installed updates by clicking the Start button, click Control Panel, click programs, and then, under programs and features, click view installed updates.
(b) click the KB982331 update to remove, and then click Uninstall. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
Method 2
After you have uninstalled successfully update now download manual and install using the link below.

I try to install the update of security for Microsoft Office System 2007 (KB972581), but if failed and I get the error code Code 57A
I have install the 2007 Microsoft Office Suite Service Pack 2I bet that if you check the size of the file that has been downloaded it will be probably very small, indicating that it was not downloaded correctly.
I don't think you have another computer at hand, or a friend with a USB key which may be able to download and copy it for you? Maybe burn it to a CD or something.
I could download it and save it to my desktop so I am confident that it is not a problem with the link itself or the file is available for download with success.
I know this isn't a very good suggestion, but the only other option would be to challenge support and see if a technician can take control of your machine and see if they can solve the problem of internet explore.
