  • Satellite L655 - cannot download drivers

I am trying to reinstall a Satellite L655 and getting snookered in all directions.

    1. I created recovery disks for installation on the old, due to lack of hard drive. When I install them (after watching paint dry for about an hour), it restarts and then fails on the first round - "installation of windows could not configure windows to run on a hardware on this computer." Suggestions Forum about this error did not help.

    2. the support of partners in South Africa have no copies of the factory recovery disks. They tell me they upload ad hoc drivers from the support site.

    3. I tried to clone the old disk (Windows runs on it, after all) but CloneZilla barfed on bad sectors.

    4. I installed Windows from a Microsoft OEM installation disk image. It runs, but obviously requires some hardware drivers. So I downloaded most of the people I need, like the map LAN, Intel Chipset and soundcard. But the WIFI drivers and screen just download: these are the largest files (60MO & 123 MB respectively) and downloads fail before the end. WELL before the end. I tried several times, using a significant amount of my allocation of bandwidth for the month (we have capped access here in black Africa!)

I tried the download from another site, I have remote access, perhaps thinking that there is something wrong with my broadband - and got exactly the same problem. The remote site has the speed of the Internet about 6 MB/s - surely enough for a 120 MB file transfer? Apparently not.

I tried these downloads from before the time of breakfast, through the afternoon and night, and it's now after midnight, all with the same results (I'm on a time zone that is in the middle of the Euro zones).

From Toshiba Web site does not support download resuming, and there is no mirror sites. What happens in the blue flames is a person supposed to do?

    * UPDATE *.
Download of driver WLAN 60MO on remote site succeeded on the second try. 120Mo adapter driver has not yet earlier on the second attempt to display. I don't see much point in trying once again, have you?

    * UPDATED MORE *.

'Config' free download that I thought was the WLAN driver, turned out be just the crapware "config utility" and does not include the pilot. (Apparently), there is no driver for the wireless card. So I am always without WiFi and the screen is stretched wide.

Oh and I tried to look elsewhere compatible drivers - the hardware ID displayed in the Device Manager tell me that the wireless card is a _Broadcom Dell 1501/1503/1701 a half Mini Card_ and graphic adapter is an ATI Mobility Radeon HD5650M_ _AMD. So I googled those chains, found things almost identical or very similar (on the Dell site!) that I downloaded - don't. Not good, "hardware not present on your computer.

Anyone know where I'm going now?

  • Device Intel WLan 6230 USB not recognized in Satellite L655 running Win8

I installed the Intel Centrino card 6230 WLAN for laptop Toshiba Satellite L655 of my wife (introduced to my HP laptop, but due to their allow list, it does not start... but it's another story).

Wifi works a treat, and I'm pulling in a little more speed of 100 mb/s (http://www.speedtest.net/result/2328501761.png) to connect to my router dual band 5 GHz.

I understand this card features also the Bluetooth capabilities and I think that is where my problem comes from.

I get a warning balloon will appear in the system tray saying "Device not recognized USB" (http://imageshack.us/f/208/intel62301.jpg/).

I followed various supposed fixes, including the removal of the drivers, as you can see from the photo I've already done. As I'm under Windows 8 Pro 64 bit as soon as I restart the WLAN driver is automatically re-established.

I tried to install the drivers several times, but I always get the error message as below: -.

    http://ImageShack.us/f/41/intel62302.jpg/
    http://ImageShack.us/f/822/intel62303.jpg/

I'm looking for one of the 2 solutions.

    1. get the device working properly - Bluetooth & Wifi - there Toshiba never do drivers for the 6230?
2 disable the ToolTip of the USB, I can do this as a stop, but as soon as I reboot it is back bothers me!

Any help is appreciated with gratitude.

  • Satellite L655-1HE «Problem of HARD drive recovery»

    Hello

I have the Satellite L655-1HE. I created a "HARD drive recovery" through "create recovery media. On the contrary, CD/DVD, I put it in a USB Flash drive. But when I used it, a mistake was "copy of splitpart or the Canadian Red Cross has failed!" After that, I can't boot my laptop more. There is a message "BOOTMNGR missing." I think I already deleted the operating system in the player. Please help me. How can I fix?

    Hello

If you can, please try to boot again from the USB and run the recovery.

Whatever the problem, if the recovery is unsuccessful, I recommend the following steps:

-buy a set of recovery-store to the wire to https://backupmedia.toshiba.eu
-If you did, and even this game fails to install, take care to check your HARD disk for problems.

    Hope this helps

  • Satellite L655 - plugged, but not charging

    Hello

I have an a computer Satellite L655 laptop and it worked very well to the top until there's a week, where all of a sudden it shows the message: 'PLUGGED in NO CHARGE.

After a bit of troubleshooting, I tried many things including the battery removal and runs directly to the a/c power. Everything seemed normal from a mechanical point of view.

However, after having also updated the driver software of all 3 components of the battery (found by Device Manager), the only thing that works every time, but is quickly reversed, is actually uninstall 'compatible Microsoft ACPI control method battery'.

First of all, I don't know what this is... but I can't have to do each day in order to get my laptop to load. I can't always have a power when I need to use my laptop... can someone please help me know what on Earth has happened to my laptop and what I can do to fix it permanently?

    Thank you very much

    Anelia

Hmm, you could try to remove this compatible Microsoft ACPI control method battery and could change the automatic installation of the driver for the device.
    1. Click Start, right-click computer and then click Properties.
    2. in the list of tasks, click Advanced system settings.
    3. in the System Properties dialog box, click the Hardware tab, and then click Windows Update driver settings.
    4. Select never check for drivers automatically when I connect a device.
    5. click OK twice, and then close the system dialog box.

Now the driver for control method battery Microsoft ACPI-complaint should not automatically install.

But I guess this isn't a better solution for you, but probably only system restore would help solve this problem.

Otherwise, it could be a battery problem and this means that the battery must be replaced.

  • Can satellite L655-14F - I change the display driver?

all I want to know if I can 'Upgrade graphics card in my laptop.

    Satellite L655-14F...... Hotel details

    "Graphics card".

type: ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5650 related HyperMemory technology
amount of memory: 1 024 MB dedicated VRAM (total available graphics memory using HyperMemory technology can be up to 2 267 MB with 3 GB and 32-bit operating system and 8 GB memory 4 083 MB with a 64 - bit OS system memory or system)
"type of memory: DDR3 video RAM (resp. RAM video and system memory combined)"

We are talking on cell phones and the No. Laptops have a very specific design and hardware upgrade is limited. Generally updated graphics card is not supported by Toshiba, so there is no sense of thinking about it.

Cooling system's biggest problem with laptops. Each laptop has the system of cooling optimized for certain physical infrastructure. Build in the cooling system should cool the hardware components and protect them from overheating and damage.

I will now use the same word as badhat: theoretically if you upgrade graphics card, you will have more powerful piece of hardware that produces more heat than the original. More heat means more likely to damage the material.

You can upgrade level RAM or HARD drive, but everything else is meaningless. That s in my opinion.

Why don't l t buy you more powerful laptop? Something like Satellite A660, P750 or Qosmio?

    I use a Satellite L655-12 q, model number short PSK1EE.
It has a tsstcorp CD/DVGW, type ts-L633c. My rom reads and burns DVDs fine, but can not read or burn CDs, especially when the size of the files involved is small.

    Can someone please help?
    Thnx.

On this virtual path, it is not easy to say what is wrong, but if there is problem with playback too, it may be a malfunction of the equipment. Perhaps more calibration doesn t the goal and objective cannot be placed in the right position to read/write CD.

    Warranty is still valid?

  • Re: Satellite L655-11J flash map F8 missing 8.1 Win

First I searched on the internet I've read so many threads on this subject but none is regarding my problem.
    My wireless card is Broadcom 8.11n + + with ID PCI\VEN_14E4 & DEV_4727

Is not supported by new PVAT flash cards which I had to install in Windows 8.1

I noticed that in Windows 7 when I tried to install a new version of PVAT the F8 is missing,
If I was stuck in an old version.

I tied to add my ID wireless to the registry
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\TOSHIBA\WirelessAPL\BT WLANDP
as it is not listed with no luck

I think the only way is to contact the PVAT developers and ask them to re - support my wireless again in a new version if they make one, as I badly need it disable Bluetooth wireless as well.
Although I can turn the WIFI off but the light will stay on.
I there is another way, can someone say I'm willing to try

    Thanks in advance

    > Is not supported by new PVAT flash cards which I had to install in Windows 8.1

As far as I know the Satellite L655-11 isn t Win 8 taken in charge the laptop model and also 8.1 win is not supported too.

It s are only not on this WINDOWS 8.1 - made MODELS page supported UPDATE
    http://www.Toshiba.EU/innovation/JSP/checkWindows8_1Compatible.do?service=EU

This means that there is no 8 Win / Win 8.1 drivers for the L655 series.

    _Secondly_
The VAP (value added package) isn't out to win 8 or 8.1 Win
The VAP has been replaced by the system of Toshiba driver
In addition to get the FN key works, the utility Toshiba function key to winning 8.1 must be installed.

These two tools are needed to get the keys FN (also the F8 key) works correctly under Win 8 or 8.1 Win

  • Satellite L655-122 - after that update Avast cannot connect to the internet

    Hello!

before that I'll start... its Satellite L655-122

I use AVAST as my firewall and antivirus.
After update the avast software I could not communicate with the wireless.

So I plugged the laptop with RJ 45 and still unable to connect... I downloaded the driver and I got:
    BASS_REL_5_6 828

What els do you need to know before you can help me?
    THX

From my point of view, there are some settings enabled in Avast free antivirus software that prevent the mobile internet connection.

Disabling _ + _ + Avast should solve this problem, but I guess also changing some options of Avast would also help.

Unfortunately I m does not help this type of software, so I can't say with certainty what option should be changed and that's why I recommend you to check the support page of Avast (forum, faq's, etc.) for more details about the additional features of Avast.

  • The use of the recovery on Satellite L655

    Hello.

How do I use my Toshiba satellite l 655 recovery?

Is there any topic explain that
    Thank you

I assume you mean on the Windows 7 that are preinstalled on the Satellite L655.
    Am I wrong?

In case you haven't changed anything on this default system, drive HARD recovery must be possible.
In this case, I recommend check you this doc:
[How to recover a Toshiba laptop with the recovery disk (Win 7) procedure | http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/HTD1303440001R01.htm]

You can also use the Toshiba Recovery disk to recover the laptop.
The recovery disc could be created using the Toshiba Recovery Media Creator software which is always pre-installed.

PS: all the details of this are mentioned in the user manual as well as in different threads here in the forum!

  • Satellite L655 - recover Toshiba Recovery option

    Hello

I have a Toshiba Satellite L655 with Windows Home Premium 64-bit. I recently had problems with my operating system. Unfortunately, I didn't know about HARD drive recovery option, so I just reinstalled an OS with Windows 7 installation CD (I have a).

Now I know about HARD drive recovery and I would get my system to it's State of origin "Toshiba", but there is nothing "Toshiba HDD recovery" more in the recovery menu (F8 at startup)

I still have the folder HDDRecovery on my drive D:\ with od 7.5 GB data. But how can I get it back? What should I install to have the "Toshiba Recovery" point back again in the recovery environment?

    Thank you
    Ivan

    Hey Buddy,

The Toshiba HDD Recovery feature is available on the preinstalled operating system. If you have installed another version he s not available anymore.

So in your case, you have the Toshiba Recovery disk to restore to factory settings. Did you create the Toshiba Recovery disk before installing Windows 7?
Usually this can be done with the box settings because the Toshiba recovery media creator is preinstalled. This means that you need some blank discs to create the recovery disk.

If you don t have the recovery disc, you can order a new by clicking here:
    https://backupmedia.Toshiba.EU/landing.aspx

  • Satellite L655-16F - Factory reset using Recovery Media discs

OK so I'll try to reset my Toshiba Satellite L655-16th back to factory settings, then he started giving me the out of memory error message, but I don't have that drives it asked me to do when I got the laptop, so when I do the F8 all start up and go to the screen with the Toshiba HDD recovery resetting thing and click on it It gives me this error message:

    * HDDRecoGUI *.
    Operating system recovery is impossible!
Not found the HDD Recovery folder on the second disc of the first hard drive.
There is no valid disk HARD recovery environment on this computer.

I tried various different things; Press 0 - which gave me a screen asking you what operating system, I wanted to use (there is only Windows 7) then just continued to load as usual. Put the first disc in and restart my laptop (which I have pretty well every time anyway) - which did nothing. etc.
So yes, is there a way to create the file from HARD drive of mystery I need the disks, or maybe another way to use the disks that I have not already tried?

    > Not found HDD Recovery folder on the second disc of the first hard drive.
    > There is no valid disk HARD recovery environment on this computer.
This message appears if you have deleted the recovery image or changed the structure of the partitions on the HARD disk.

If you have created disk or recovery disk that you can install the recovery using the recovery DVD image.

Start your laptop and meadows F12 repeatedly to enter the boot menu.
Place the recovery disc into the optical disc drive.
In the menu choose the CD/DVD drive.
    Press ENTER.
Follow the menu on the screen.
