I can't isntall Silverlight_x64.exe, missing Silverlight_x64.msi?

Hello

Just that I have had this problem for some time and finally, I would like to solve it.

How can I get the file Silverlight.msi to install Silverlight_x64.exe?

When I run Silverlight_x64.exe it repeat to myself that the Silverlight.msi file is missing.

I tried Microsoft fix it tools to install/uninstall and Silverlight does not even appear in the options.

So, what can I do to make this work? How can I modify the Silverlight once and for all!

Thank you.

John

This problem is solved. I found a Microsoft Fixit here:

I applied it and walla Silverlight is updated.

I have two solutions for this:

    1 - C:\Windows\System32 if you can't find rundll32.exe go to C:\Windows\winsxs

and search for rundll32.exe if found copy in C:\Windows\System32

Note: display of file Extensions must be enabled in the browser, organizing options

2 - Use another computer with the same version of xp and a flash drive copy C:\Windows\System32\rundll32.exe in the other computer to C:\Windows\System32 in your computer

If the file is always displayed in the Download Manager window, then you can use open folder on the shortcut menu. If this entry is grayed out then the file is no longer at this location to download. Possible causes are cleaning software or anti-virus that deleted the file.

  • Rundll32.exe missing, unable to reinstall open rundll32.exe or .exe files

Then I looked around and discovered I had a virus, XP Security, erased rundll32.exe when it was faded.  Now, I found another copy on my computer to ISO recovery that accompanies it (thank you, MSI), but it is useless, because I can't OPEN. EXE FILES.  I had internet explore to open internet Explorer by selecting in the menu open with that appears whenever I open a .exe file, and that worked for a few other programs (World of Warcraft, as well, mainly to test).

So, what should I do to open Rundll32.exe when my computer won't let me choose Rundll32.exe as a program to open Rundll32.exe with.  I select it in the open with menu by means of travel, and it does not appear in the list of programs that I can use, such as Internet Explorer and wow.

I wanted to talk to someone on the phone for 5 minutes to understand this point, but that costs 20% of this cost my computer ($50, im on a netbook).  Come on, $ 50?  really, microsoft?

Thank you for your response. Here's my problem. I'm on a laptop at the moment. My problem is with my desktop windows xp home edition. I can't access a Web site or make it appear an address bar imput your link. Whenever I click on internet explore or itunes or whatever it is that must be open to the top, I get the 'open with' box and it says: "choose the program you want to use to open this file. I tried to remove the rundll32.exe and go back in the folder.

When I go to the c\windows\system32\rundll32.exe folder and remove the file, I go back to the results of the research, and he returned in the results of research after a few seconds.

    Thanks again.

The goal is to not do not delete the rundll32 permanently, but replace it with a replacement valid. If your MAP replaces the file then it is useless to continue to delete.

That said, the best way to solve this problem is to use a flash (USB drive) drive or other removable media to download and run the file on the link I gave you. However, if you do not have access to removable media, you can try to manually reassociate the executables.

CTRL-ALT-DEL and open Task Manager.  Once there, click file, and then hold down the CTRL key and click New task (run).  This will open a command prompt window. On the command line type assoc.exe = exefile > press ENTER. You should receive a prompt action succeeded.

Looks like your shortcuts can have been so separated. On the command line type assoc.lnk = lnkfile > press ENTER.

Click on the link below, download, update and perform a full scan with Malwarebytes.

I can not open all .exe files, including regedit.exe cited as a means to correct this type of error.  If I try to open any program gives me an error that there are no application or the 'Open with' window opens asking me to choose my program.  However, I can open the Word Document, although if I try to click on any shortcut to Microsoft Word it says application is not found.

I had a virus on my PC and used Malwarebytes to remove it.  The deletion was successful, but he seems to have created this new problem.  I don't know if it is directly related to the kidnapping, or whether the virus changed anything while he was active?

Your ".exe" file association is probably damaged.
To fix it, follow the instructions on this page for the attachment of .exe file associations.  Be sure to read the note at the top of the page specifically about the special considerations to fix .exe associations.

  • NTOSKRNL. EXE missing - access denied whiletrying to copy CDs

    Hi all

    I use Win XP Sp3.

When I tried to start, I got the following error "missing NTOSKRNL.exe.

I used the win XP CD to start in Restore Mode.

Go to the command prompt after you enter the credentials & entered copy d:\i386\ntoskrnl.exe c:\windows\system32\*.*

By entering in this I get the error "access denied."

Somone kindly indicate how to copy the file ntoskrl.exe missing in the c:\windows\system32 folder

    Kind regards

    Thaddeus Fernandes

E-mail address is removed from the privacy *.

Try again with the full path instead of jokers:

    copy d:\i386\ntoskrnl.exe c:\windows\system32\ntoskrnl.exe

I think you might need to expand the file instead of copy:

    For single-processor systems:
    Expand D:\i386\ntoskrnl.ex_ C:\Windows\system32\ntoskrnl.exe

    For multiprocessor systems:
    Expand D:\i386\ntkrnlmp.ex_ C:\Windows\system32\ntoskrnl.exe

Note that it is often a problem with the boot.ini file, and not a ntoskrnl missing actually.  See here: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/314477

  • .exe missing in my program

I have been using this program with any errors or problems.  All of a sudden out of the blue, this is the error message I get when I try to open it:

    WTLibrary.exe entry point not found

The entry procedure point?_Xfunc@tr1@@YAXXZ is not found in MSVCP90.dll dynamic link library.

I asked what I could on the forums by making a tool system, clean boot file checker.  I also tried uninstall and reinstall.  I did a system restore to before it appeared and he said nothing had changed on my computer.  I downloaded V2.35.1223 CCcleaner and it fixed a few errors, but the problem is not resolved.  I'm very green with this sort of thing.  I ran a search and found the dll above, but can't find a .exe for my program.  I just found WTLIBRARY.exe - 1A2F5149.pf in c:\windows\prefetch.  Need help please, I was not able to use my Bible library for a week now!  Thank you in advance!

Apartently, there is a Trojan horse with the same name even...  I propose, therefore you uninstall, scan your computer with MalwareBytes...

    http://www.Malwarebytes.org/

.. .and your anti-virus prgram.  If you do not, use Avast, it's free.  Remove anything, they find and try reinstalling your program AFTER the reboot.

Have you tried restoring system from a command prompt?

Otherwise, restart the computer and start typing the key F8, select Safe mode with command option. If you are prompted to select an operating system, use the arrow keys to select the right pair and press ENTER. Log in as administrator or with an account that has administrator credentials.

At the command prompt, type % systemroot%\system32\restore\rstrui.exe, and then press ENTER. Follow the prompts to restore your computer to an earlier date.
