I can't right click to copy or save anything on the web!

I can't right click to save/copy the text or an image on Firefox or Explorer. When right click nothing appears on the page. No menu or anything like that. My right click works on my desktop. I don't know what to do. Help, please! Thank you!

Hello

What antivirus/antispyware/security products do you have on the machine? Be one you ALREADY had on this
machine, including those you have uninstalled (they leave leftovers behind which can cause strange problems).

If no joy there's something blocking perhaps.

Start - All Programs - Accessories - System Tools - IE with no Addons - what works best?

IE - Tools - Internet Options - Advanced - tab click on restore, and then click Reset - apply / OK

IE - Tools - Internet Options - Security tab - click on reset all default areas - apply / OK

Close and restart IE or IE with no addons

not better?

IE - tools - manage Addons (for sure disable SSV2 if it is there, it is no longer necessary but Java always install
"(and it causes problems - you never update Java to go back in and turn it off again)." Search for other possible problems.

Windows Defender - tools - software explore - look for problems with programs that do not look right. Permit
are usually OK and "unauthorized" are not always bad. If in doubt about a program to ask about it here.

Could be that a BHO - BHOremover - free - standalone program, needs no installation, download and run - not all
are bad, but some can cause your question (toolbars are BHO).

Run DiskCleanup - start - all programs - Accessories - System Tools - Disk Cleanup

None of these suggestions to the Microsoft support technician will help you, but they will consume large amounts of your time.

Please post a link to this Marilyn Microsoft engineer answer Support responses involving some registry maybe going to I can see that too.

Older versions of PowerDesk Pro 7.x are known to cause explore crash, so that the sounds on the right.

The current version of PowerDesk Pro is 8.5.

You might be able to get the old version to behave by disabling PowerDesk one shell extensions at a time until when you right-click Explorer no longer crashes.  This will leave you with limited functionality of PowerDesk since those afflicted extensions will be disabled, but you should not have these extensions to do anything, you need to make sheets.

I would start with the PowerDesk ZIP shell extension (I already know about this one).

It is a version shortened and changed my notes on the use of ShellExView (since you already think sheets):

Download ShellExView here to see what Explorer extensions you have loaded:

    http://www.NirSoft.NET/utils/shexview.html

ShellExView does not install anything on your computer, simply of runs and displays.

After launching ShellExView, under Options, choose "Mark non-Microsoft Extensions" and extensions not Microsoft will be pink, clear, but on some systems which is a difficult color to see, so click on display, choose the columns and move the column Microsoft closer to the top, so you can see on your screen without having to scroll left and right.

Click on the column header for Microsoft sort display (by clicking on the column of Microsoft) then all the non Microsoft extensions are on top and easy to see.

Non-Microsoft extensions would be things you have added (non-Microsoft) and are what you should be suspect.

You can also Google the name of a suspect add-on and see if there is any success on the mistakes of the DEP and what other people have done about it.

For example, you could Google something like:

Explorer XP crashing (you must fill in the name of add your suspect on.)

See what kind of search results hits you get and are looking for solutions or situations that sound like yours.

Right click and disable Microsoft no suspicious extensions one at a time take a list so you can enable them again later if you wish.

The result of the change is immediate and no reboot is necessary.  Test your failure condition.  If the Explorer starts to behave, you will know which extension is the culprit, then you can start to enable them one by one until the Explorer fails again.

Don't forget - disabling the extension does not uninstall the extension - it is just disabled so you can always turn it on again.

Disable them one at a time until your right click on do not generate an error, then restart and test again.  You have disabled the last extension would be suspicious.  You can then start to reactivate other extensions to zero on the extensions that are causing your accident

If the cause of the accident is a third party application or program, their may be a later version of the program available that solves the problem.

If you find the offending extension that's the problem, please let us know what it is that I can add to my list.

  • Windows Explorer has stopped working error - I can't right click a folder on the desktop.

This is my brother's computer, and they do not arrive in his account, only mine.  I have administrator rights, but it seems not to matter. This problem occurs only occasionally.  For example, I can right click on this text, copy it, then paste it.  However, if I go to the desktop and try right click on a folder to rename it, I get the error.  The error indicates that Windows Explorer has stopped working, when it says that it restarts, then the Office updates really quick. None of what I found in the forums have worked again this is why I started a new thread.  I think it might be a problem with the registry, then someone can please help me quickly find a solution?

Note: I can not run as administrator command prompt because I can't right click, so I can't run sfc/scannow.

We are volunteers here for the most part.

It's a shame that we don't know anything about the distressed system but it was MS Answers owners have chosen to implement this community - do not ask basic system information when a new question is asked that make problems a lot time and frustrating.

But now they way they choose to turn things around here.

Maybe this will help you with your system of unspecified of brand and model with the release of unspecified Windows and Service Pack and unspecified install antivirus/antimalware:

When the Windows Explorer (not Internet Explorer) is wrong (especially when right click), begin to suspect third-party add-ons explore extension.  You can also see some errors of NAT (DEP, Data Execution Prevention).  DEP errors are reported when XP will be threatened by a program and Windows stops threatening program.  Windows should never feel threatened by the Explorer Windows (or Internet Explorer) to less that some add-on is the cause.

Those who would be the Explorer extensions that do not belong to Microsoft.  This means that extensions that you have added.  Solution Explorer extensions are generally well and installation of certain applications will install extensions from Explorer solutions for you, give you a choice and sometimes they can be added without your knowledge when you install the new software.

Solution Explorer extensions are sometimes added as a new right-click option, you see on folders and files (like the scan of this file, open that file, play this song).

If there is something in particular that you do during exploration that you know will be the cause of the problem, which will help focus on the problem and the help that you suddenly know, when you have found and corrected.

If you can get there when you want it, make an adjustment and then there is no message the next time you don't do anything, you do, you have found and corrected.

First of all you need a way to see what modules explore you have installed now and a way to turn them off (not uninstall them) so you can understand that we are at the origin of the problem.  You can have a lot of extensions not installed Microsoft don't even know you about.

Download ShellExView here to see what Explorer extensions you have loaded:
    http://www.NirSoft.NET/utils/shexview.html

ShellExView does not install anything on your computer, simply of runs and displays.

After you launch ShellExView (shexview.exe double click) and acknowledge the security warning, adjust the column widths, so you can see everything clearly.  Under Options, choose "Mark non-Microsoft Extensions" and extensions not Microsoft will be pink, clear, but on some systems, which is a difficult color to see, so click on display.
Choose the columns and move up or move down in the column of Microsoft is narrower upwards (Mount) so you can see on your screen without having to scroll left and right.

Click on the header of column called Microsoft (it can be the way out of the right side of the screen) to sort the display (by clicking on the column heading in Microsoft) so all non Microsoft extensions are at the top and easy to see.  They will say 'No' and be marked in pink because they are not extensions Microsoft, something like this:

Non-Microsoft extensions would be things you have added (non-Microsoft) and are what you should be suspect.

If you see extensions which do not have anything that is listed under Description, Version, product name, company or have special names that looks like they might be letters and numbers just randomly, you might want to look at these first.

You can also Google the name of a suspect add-on and see if there is any success on the Explorer accidents or mistakes DEP and what other people have done about it.

    You can Google something like:

    Windows Explorer crash

You must complete your suspect on behalf of adds on.

See what kind of search results hits you get and are looking for solutions or situations that sound like yours.

I'm not a defender of trial and error, but I can't think of another way to do...

Right click and disable the non Microsoft extensions one at a time (or maybe in small groups of 3-5), keep a list, so you can enable them again later if you wish. The result of the change is immediate and no reboot is necessary.  Test your failure condition (right click).  If the Explorer starts to act normally, you'll know that some extension you just disabled in this group of 3-5 is the culprit, then you can start to enable them one by one until the Explorer fails again.

If you recognize all the extensions that have been added or recently downloaded, start with these first.

Disabling the extension does not uninstall the extension - it is just disabled.  You can always enable it later, so keep track of things by writing them down.

Disable them one at a time or in small groups (to make things go faster) until your right click does not generate an error, then restart and test again to be sure.   You have disabled the last extension would be suspicious.

You can also disable all non-Microsoft extensions, restart, test your fault condition and allow them one at a time until you find the one that generates the failure condition.

If you have a large number of extensions, you can disable them is small groups, 3-5 at a time instead of 1 at a time until your system starts to behave.

When it does not, you will know that the problem is one of the extensions of this small group and you can enable members of the Group at a time until the problem returns, then the problem is with the last extension that you enabled.

The hope is that you will find extensions that is causing the problem and then you can figure out what on this subject - either uninstall it or see if you can get an update of the author of the extension of their web page.

I have not your problem, but I can when you toggle extensions, the extension is immediately disabled, so disable an extension does not seem to require a restart, but if you think that you have found the problem, I reboot and repeat the test in any case to be sure the problem disappeared.

If you post your non-Microsoft extensions list, maybe someone will recognize it as a potential problem.

If you find the offending extension that's the problem, please let us know what it is that I can add to my list!

  • Can I disable right click on an audio file to prevent the download of the file?

Can I disable right click on an audio file to prevent the download of the file?

I created a player driven Dashboard using the audio player by default - however I noticed now that I can right click and download the audio file - can I disable this?
Or do I have to create my own buttons play/stop to avoid this problem?

    EA_player.jpg

    Hello

Yes, you can disable the context menu on an audio clip - but also not, because you can't really tell someone who knows how to use the development tools of the browser to find and download the audio source file.

However, to disable the right-click menu on your audio, add this code to your compositionReady stage manager:

SYM.$("your_audio_element").bind ('contextmenu', Function () {return false; ;})})  of course, replace the name of the element with the name of your audio

    Hi KenMiller,

Welcome to Microsoft Community where you can find the answers related to Windows.

According to the description, it looks like once you right click on all files of settings changes the toolbar opens and remains the same and freeze on desktop.

This issue could be due to any third-party conflicts or the performance of the system.

I would suggest trying the following methods and check if it helps.

    Method 1:

Open the troubleshooter of Performance: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-IN/windows7/Open-the-Performance-troubleshooter

    Method 2:

I suggest to start in safe mode and check if the problem persists.

Start your computer in safe mode: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/Start-your-computer-in-safe-mode

If the problem does not persist in safe mode, and then perform a clean boot in order to check if any third-party application is causing the problem, as the clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

In the article, it is offered several times to

When you use JDeveloper 11.1.2.3.0 it will result in JDeveloper starting a browser requesting a URL "/ faces/DeptEmp" (without ".jsf").
(Note that in the sample adfc - config.xml has a view with the id "DeptEmp" activity, but for pages without an activity view corresponding to the stream of unrelated task (adfc-config.) (Xml) JDeveloper starts a browser requesting a "/ faces/otherPage.jsf" URL (with ".jsf").)

Still, I wonder if we should really run (JSF) pages, or rather an activity view in the flow of a task?

After running into issues with calling (JSF) page URL rather than controller unbounded ADF task flows view activity URL in another forum thread [1], I try to avoid pages (JSF) (execution of the task-flow unlimited instead) running.

    Hello

Still, I wonder if we should really run (JSF) pages, or rather an activity view in the flow of a task?

The recommendation is to run the activity. I think it's just my laziness to boot from the JSF file in the case of the article (and given my article only has a single page in the workflow unlimited I wonder if my attempt failed, if there was a need for a navigation to another view in the flow of unlimited work). The risk from a page directly, it is a physical implementation of a view that could be used by multiple streams of different tasks (although the common use of the stubborn workflow is to go with fragments of the page, always bounded task flows could be defined using complete documents). His recommendation that you start an activity to view pages in order to ensure the ADFc is used (I wasn't even not aware of 11.2.3 to automatically change request activity instead of the file if there is an activity of referencing).

Older versions of Firefox you could block images and ads by clicking and using the characteristic 'blocking of the image' this function disappeared with Firefox 4?

It has been removed from the context menu, because people were accidentally blocking the images. You can always block images, but there is an additional step to be taken. Right-click on an image that you want to block and select "View Image Info". This will open a dialog box that contains an option to block images of the area that the image came from.

Click the Pearl (Start) button on the desktop in the search field type cmd (do not hit enter) right click on cmd.exe and select run as administrator once in the prompt type sfc/scannow
