I used windows movie maker a few months ago and I was able to upload to youtube, etc. Now, I get a windows live screen, what is windows live?  What happened to the old windows media player?

Thank you

Hey mookster62,

I think you're talking about ripping in Windows Media Player, but your title says something else entirely. Please confirm on the same so that we can offer our best support.

Upon your first request, it is not the best place to determine whether Windows Live Movie Maker works with iTunes. Forum Windows Live would be the best place.

Coming to your question ripping, please follow the suggestions in the thread below:

CD will not rip using Windows Media Player in windows 7
http://social.answers.Microsoft.com/forums/en-us/w7music/thread/96AFEB65-4A6D-4559-AF83-C9B52E42A938

If all goes well, one of the suggestions provided it solves this problem.

On your last concern, Windows Movie Maker doesn't not part of Windows 7. Thus, it must be Windows Live Movie Maker in your case. However, please find help on downloading YouTube videos from the link below.

kellysedgeman, just a guess here, but are you sure that the files that you drag from WMP are mp3, and .wma files?

Windows Media Player is in default to copy the CD in wma files.  You must tell it to rip to mp3 files.  WMA files are not supported by the pre.

Whenever I ripped a cd with Windows Media Player, all the titles of the songs are all in the right order and therefore not in the right order, why? I use Windows Media Player after all to get the missing information from the album. So why do this?

Track one becomes track 2 and 5 becomes 7 then what happens? And I tried to edit myself as well but every time I click Update album info it just messes up amel!

Actually, it's funny how it never used to do that before.

    Hi haslam,.

When you rip (copy) the tracks on a CD, Windows Media Player attempts to identify songs on the CD by connecting to Internet and search of the database of Windows Media, which is run by Microsoft. In most cases, the player is able to retrieve information of media of the database online and then add the information to the files Windows Media Audio (WMA) or MP3 which are created during the ripping process.

Check the settings of the library in windows media player. Steps to follow:

    a. open Windows media player

    b. click on organize

    c. Select Options, select the Library tab

    d. under automatic updates media for files, overwrite all of the missing information, must be deselected

    Hello

Having too many CD/DVD programs can cause strange problems, especially if they're loading of parts of
themselves at the start because they will be competing for resources. This does not mean that this issue has been
caused by those, however, it's a possibility depending on which and how many you have installed.

You have disk problems as the CD/DVD is actually 4 discs in 1 case (CD & DVD burning and)
Playback of CD and DVD). So it is not unusual for parts from 1 or 2 to not work so that others do
    correctly.

Burning at low speed, or by using the master could help. A CD/DVD cleaner might help.

Brand of the CD or DVD drive can also be the problem. Low quality (cheap brands) are always problematic.

CD/DVDs have a tolerance + - and your can read/write on the edge outside these discs
tolerances. They may be delivered, but it is generally more economical to replace the disk.

  • What is the best suond of quality I can rip a cd with windows media player, which can be read by itunes

I'm putting my windows media files in iTunes to play on a stereo system.

I am after the best quality possible and do not want to be caught in the trap in appleworld but there is very little ipnut devices that support what anyone else than apple.

I also have a Samsing Galaxy SII I want to play music.

I, therefore, plucked a few CD in windows media player using WAV (lossless) format.

When I try to add a folder to library in itunes songs appear under unknown artist and I can't recognize the format.

Anyone know what is the best quality download I can do which can be dealt with by media player AND iTunes?

    Thank you very much.

    John

Why use iTunes AND WMP AND a Galaxy? Use one of them.

The reason for which you you hide it all under "Unknown", this is that wav files are not encrypted when you ripped them. You must add the titles to the hand. However, your Galaxy will not be able to read them.

You could rip as mp3 at a rate of 320 files - negligible loss of sound quality at a high rate, or as a file flac.

You can use a codec for WMP for files flac and I don't know if iTunes can read - I never use it for reading. Check the plug on the Apple site. Yet once, however, the Galaxy cannot.

However, they can read mp3 files, as can your Galaxy (I have a). To transfer files to the Galaxy its recommended to use Kies software (available on Samsung website)...

If you were to use a program like AudioGrabber (Google for it, its freeware) coupled with the Lame codec (follow the links on the site of AudioGrabber) then you can rip from CD directly to mp3 at a rate of 320 that WMP + iTunes + your Galaxy can read.

Hope that waffle above is clear,

    See you soon,.
