I can't save my project (mswmm) file on windows movie maker 5.1 as a video file

Hello
I worked on a project to create a movie about 500 MB with windows movie maker, but when I try to save as movie on my computer, I am unable to save him, while the CPU usage is 100% and windows movie maker says, "estimated time remaining" for about 15-30 min and projects then a mistake. I checked my files several times that are ok, but... .can not save my project. My system configurations are provided for in:
P - IV - 2.4 GHz processor
512 MB of RAM
Graphics 128 MB
Is that what I need to improve my system or there is another problem? I will be grateful if you could suggest any remedy, please. C

Watch the video file. The last 3 letters represent the file format.

Windows Movie maker only supports the following video file formats:

Video files: .asf, .avi, .dvr-ms, .m1v, .mp2, .mp2v, .mpe, .mpeg, .mpg, .mpv2, .wm, and .wmv

If yours is not on the above list, Movie Maker will have probel play.

In this case, you will have to google for a free video converter and change the format of your video file to WMV. WMV format is the most reliable format for Windows. For the benefits of others looking for answers, please mark as answer suggestion if it solves your problem.

    The following freeware can convert:

    Format Factory
    http://www.pcfreetime.com/
    (FWIW... installation..., you can uncheck

Drag and drop your clips .mpg video on the

    Hello

    1. don't you make changes on the computer before the show?
    2. you receive an error message on the computer?
3 is confined with any particular audio file?

    4. what happens when turninig turn off DEP for the program?
In some cases, a file with a file type that Windows Movie Maker does not support may cause Windows Movie Maker stops responding. This can be caused by incompatible video filters. You can verify what filters are installed and force Windows Movie Maker to avoid loading specific filters by restarting simply Windows Movie Maker.

All using windows movie maker, I added audio, but I can't hear the music while playing the video... Why is this?

    Hello

    1. What is the format of the video file that you use in Movie Maker?

    2. do you receive error messages when you try to play the video?

Some audio and video file formats are not supported in Windows Movie Maker and cannot be imported. However, if you have a video or audio file that is not taken care of, you can use a non-Microsoft video editing software to convert the file into a format supported by Windows Movie Maker, and then import the video file or an audio resulting in Windows Movie Maker.

You can use your favorite search engine and download third-party video editing software to convert the file.

Note: The use of third-party software, including hardware drivers can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from starting properly. • I do not understand why my creation of windows DVD burn only 1% of one of my windows movie maker projects.

    Hello

I made a video of my Windows Movie Maker project and have tried several times to burn through my Windows DVD Maker with the burning of 7% max.  After that, it gets stuck.  However, my other several attempts were a result of burning of 1% and it stuck.  I've left overnight to see if it was the capacity but the next day it is still 1%.  I did other projects without problem.  It is only with this project.  I don't understand why it won't let me if I used Windows movie maker without problem.  The video was originally in AVI, but I was able to convert a 3GP using dvdvideosoft software. Then only, I have done a project using my Windows Movie Maker.  The full minutes of this project is 90 minutes, while the DVD that I want to burn it holds 150 minutes.  Can you help me?  Tried several things and can not find the solution.  I don't know that there must be a solution.

What or who persuaded allows you to convert AVI, which is supported by Windows, to 3GP, which is not supported by Windows?

If you must, convert AVI to WMV format.
    Bypass Windows Movie Maker.
Add the WMV video in Windows DVD Maker directly.
    Try to burn now.

For your information, Windows Movie Maker 2.6 is just a "water-down" version designed for computers cannot run the built-in Windows Movie maker 6.0

Windows Movie maker 6.0 comes with Vista.
2.6 MM Windows does not come with Vista. It is not a 'new' program. It is a compromise version.

    Overview

Movie Maker 2.6 is for Windows Vista users whose computer cannot run the Vista's Movie Maker version.

To test whether your computer can run Vista's Movie Maker version:

    1. on the start menu, click all programs.
    2. click on Windows Movie Maker.

If Movie Maker starts, you must not download version 2.6.

If you get an error message that says: "Windows Movie Maker cannot start because your video card does not support the required level of hardware acceleration or hardware acceleration is not available", download and install Movie Maker 2.6.

  • Error when you try to open a Windows Movie Maker. MSWMM file: cannot be opened because it is not a valid windows movie maker project file

Help! Says the file can't be flat, .mswmm file, but the program made the film.

I used the Windows to make a film, I scanned 458 pictures, done my book of stories, etc. with music - took a month... I "published" and now when I go to open it it says ' cannot be opened because it is not a valid windows movie maker project file? But the Director did, now I can't open it to all, it has an .mswmm file extension! Help, it's a gift for my dad who is going to be 70 and I have not yet a month to make it again!

Hi, I'm having a similar problem but have 1 idea as to why I can't open my .mswmm file. I have two xp machines running sp3, but a pro and a home edition if it matters.

the file.mswmm I am trying to open was created on the moviemaker version 2.1.4028.0 and it still works fine on this machine. On the xp pro machine, he is Director of windows 2.1.4026.0.

So I try to install the movie maker 28 to my other machine I have a lot of files created with the 28 I want to be able to change on the other computer.

    =============================================
The project .mswmm file is best to use the system that created
because it takes all the source files... Video clips, Photos, music
files... always be available at the original location.

Moving from one computer to another can work if you move as best
all of the source files. When you open the .mswmm file you will see
Xs red instead of thumbnails of the source but if you right click the red Xs
You should be able to navigate to the new location of the files sources and re-
    establish the path.

  • My Windows Movie Maker collapsed in response. How can I save my project?

I worked on this project for five hours, and I need it for a class. I don't want to redue it again, because its 10 min long.  I finished it all, except the credit end. I really need to save it so I don't lose. Help, please.

    Hello

You can try the following steps and try to save the project:

Method 1: Increase the size of the swap file

Check out the following link to increase the size of swap file

Change the size of virtual memory

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/change-the-size-of-virtual-memory

    Method 2:

Save the movie in smaller Sections

Save the movie in the sections a half or a third party. This reduces the complexity of the table of storyboard / timeline by reducing the number of individual items that appear on the table of the storyboard / timeline. To save the movie in smaller portions, follow these steps:

    Step 1:

Remove and retain a portion of the film

    a. Select a subset of the items in the table of storyboard / timeline.

    b. in the Edit menu, click on cut.

    c. on the file menu, click on save movie file.

Note: This avoids the part of the movie which is always on the timeline or storyboard, not the article that you cut.

    d. in the movie recording Wizard, follow the on-screen instructions to complete the registration process.

    Step 2:

Import the Portion and save the entire movie

    a. when the movie record Wizard is finished, on the file menu, click Import media items

    b. click on the file that you saved in steps 3 to 5 of part 1, and then click Import.

    c. right click on the imported file and then click on copy.

    d. click on the area of the table of the Storyboard where you want to insert the file.

    e. in the Edit menu, click on paste.

    f. on the file menu, click on save movie file.

    g. follow the instructions in the wizard movie recording.

    h. clear the film Show when I click on the finished dialog box, and then click Finish.

  • How can I save my project in Windows Movie Maker 2.6?

Hi I made a movie that is 26 minutes long, with photos, effects and music.  I need to burn it to a dvd.  However, I am only offered the opportunity to save on my computer.  When I so it saves only the part of it, I made several times and saved the part varies between 5 and 20 minutes of pictures, but with all the music.  There is another option to save to the camera, but it's not a useful for my application.  There is no option to publish or save on DVD, so I wanted to save it on my laptop and then burn from there.  I can't cut the length of the project.  I spent hours trying to fix this, solutions of Googling, but in vain.  Do I need more RAM on my laptop?  Please help, this is something that I have to return to normal as soon as possible.  Thank you :-)

  • Can I save my projects at my computer with creative cloud?

I can't find a clear answer to this question:

If I download the creative cloud package which includes all the fun programs, can I save my projects directly to my computer as I could in Creative Suite 3, 4 or 5?

I don't want to do anything in this cloud thing that they're talking about.

I just want to install programs, create content with them and save my projects directly on my computer - no internet which means never.

    Yes.

One of the biggest misconceptions with version Adobe of the cloud is that you need to store your files in the cloud.

With the Cloud of Adobe, you download, install and run the software locally. Similarly, you save your work locally, just as you always have. Cloud storage is available but completely optional.

The only requirement of the internet is an automatic in the occasional background license audit which connects to the Adobe servers to verify that you are financially current. Takes seconds.
