    I managed to figure out the problem.

    I use a VPN provided by private Internet access.

    It seems that the recent Skype Android app rocks when the VPN is enabled. I managed to finally log in my Skype application making sure that my VPN has been disabled.

    The Skype app both the VPN work very well together after a sign of success in.

    1. Desktop version
      Skype uses the Autologon feature to connect to Skype. If you still want to sign
      In the desktop version of Skype, click on Skype in the menu bar, click Sign Out.
      To remove contacts, right-click the contact and select Remove, or use the menu bar to find a delete option. Alternatively, you can delete the contact from your Microsoft accounts. Locate them to delete the messages, and select Remove.
    2. Version of the app
      To disconnect from the version of the Skype app, click on your name in the upper right corner and select Disconnect. Instructions to remove and hide messages or contacts are pretty much the same.

    I signed up with Skype with an account long ago EarthLink is now closed; I use a "gmail" account now (only).  I apparently have a wrong password, so I can't access my Skype account.   I can't use the password recovery option, because the system sends the message to the former and firm earthlink account.  I can't access my Skype profile to change/update my e-mail address, nor can I contact Skype (apparently) via email, chat, phone, nothing, or in any way to update my account with my new email address.  Once changed, then link my Skype account and Microsoft, as well as to get Skype downloaded onto my new computer.   Any ideas out there?
