  The question you should ask is why you have Flash installed. You don't need Flash. If you have not installed Flash, videos will play in HTML5. If the video requires Flash, you can use Google Chrome to play.

  Did not work. Error: the file is not a valid Win32 application.

  UPDATE: I went back to this file to download some time later, clicked on it, and installed without error. I must have initially tried to install before the download was complete.

  Recently, I got a prompt to upgrade to flash player.  I downloaded the file and got in regards to the box with the installation of flash player from adobe 11.3.  Click on playback liscene etc., then click on install.  Nothing happens.  All ideas

  That is the answer I found on the Mac support forums which worked immediately.  The old flash player plug in was not removed by the new installer.  copied to give credit person post.

  I have a new MacBook Pro and I followed these instructions, downlonading and install the new version of the Flash plugin. But when I looked in "/ Library/Internet Plugins" there is no folder called "disabled Plugins".

  However, I've seen two versions of Flash:

  _Flash Player.plugin with the old date

  Flash Player.plugin with today's date

  I deleted _Flash Player.plugin and this corrected the problem.

  I sent you another link to Setup by a PM.  Just as I understand it, the problem you are having is that you are unable to download the DMG Flash file on your computer, correct?

  Thanks for the update.  I am happy that you were able to get installed it.  Always curious to know why the EXE file does not download.  Have you checked your security settings, or maybe anti-anti-virus/firewall settings?

  Who should take care of the pop-up ads. Now for what is already downloaded on your system, try these freeware antimalware scanners:

  Malwarebytes': http://download.cnet.com/Malwarebytes-Anti-Malware/3000-8022_4-10804572.html.

  Super AntiSpyware: http://download.cnet.com/SuperAntiSpyware-Free-Edition/3000-8022_4-10523889.html .

  Then I would run a scan in depth with your antivirus scanner. Don't have one? I use and recommend Avast for free: http://download.cnet.com/Avast-Free-Antivirus/3000-2239_4-10019223.html .
