Impossible to update iTunes on windows

I could not update my iTunes for a couple of months, receive the error "system has not been changed" message. Tried to uninstall/reinstall the program without success. My important updates to windows are all installed, I wonder if I have to install all updates of windows as an option?

Try to repair the Apple Software Update of the programs and features Control Panel, and then reinstall iTunes.

For general advice, see troubleshooting problems with iTunes for Windows updates.

The steps described in the second case are a guide to remove everything related to iTunes and then rebuild what is often a good starting point, unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach.

Review the other boxes and other support documents list to the bottom of the page, in case one of them applies.

More information area has direct links with the current and recent buildings if you have problems to download, must revert to an older version or want to try the version of iTunes for Windows (64-bit-for old video cards) as a workaround for problems with installation or operation, or compatibility with QuickTime software or a third party.

Backups of your library and device should be affected by these measures but there are links to backup and recovery advice there.

  • Update iTunes 10 Windows problem and Solution

I have a solution that worked for me, when Apple's CEO did not all trying to update iTunes 10 Windows.  I do not claim that their solution was bad, just that it has not resolved the problem for me, but lead me to the solution that did.

The problem I had was that during the update, I would like to get the package of Windows error message that wouldn't let him proceed in process.  "There is a problem with this Windows Installer package.  A program required for this install to complete could not be run.  Contact your supplier of staff or the package of support ".

THE SOLUTION: click on the Windows icon and go to settings > system > applications and features.  Click on Apple software update > change > change > repair

Once the repair has been completed, I was able to install iTunes without any problems.

How I found this solution: I tried the recommendation to Apple for this message exact error uninstall and reinstall iTunes, who had the same error message.  The next step was to uninstall QuickTime and iTunes, then the Apple Software Update.  At this point, the Apple software update wouldn't uninstall and generated the same error of Windows package as described above.  I fixed Apple Software Update and rather than proceed with the rest of the facilities, I advanced and installed iTunes.  He worked like a champ and he saved me a bunch of times.

    Thanks Airshipguy. It really worked.

I have not tried all the recommendations of Apple support, being out of pocket for the time and also the uncertainty of losing the settings. Before you read this post, I tried to repair only iTunes. After reading the post above, I fixed all facilities Apple in a sequence such that the last of them was that of "Apple Software Update". I made this sequence intuitively and have no scientific reason.

For those who need to be more aware of 10 Windows, right click the windows button, select "Programs and features" and then search for Apple. As indicated in the post above, it's the "Apple Software Update" that did the trick.

My response was to reassure people that it works. Often, a single post does not give that confidence to give it a go!

  • Connection to the server to update iTunes on Windows 7

Hi all, grateful for the advice. I'm trying to sync my iPhone only 6 and iPod touch to my iTunes library on my Windows 7 PC. It's an older version (2012 - I can't see the exact version). The computer recognizes the devices when it is connected, but iTunes is not. Tips suggest that I should update my iTunes. However, this is where I struggle. I get the message that "the iTunes update server could not be contacted. Please check your internet connection or try again later "." This seems to be a common problem and I tried all the troubleshooting tips that I could find. I am connected to the Internet and can connect to the iTunes Store for connectivity is not the problem. I've disabled the security settings and edited my host settings too. Still no joy. Grateful for all of the other suggestions that I could try to fix this annoying problem please.

  • Impossible to install iTunes on Windows 10 (64-bit)

If all this started because I had problems of synchronization via USB cable. "Connection" would be constantly. I tried different cables, different ports, nothing worked and the next tip was to reinstall iTunes. But then iTunes has never really disappeared and when he relocated, nothing was different. So I started researching... and removed everything according to the instructions here: troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates

During troubleshooting, I did it by using the windows control panel and an app called Total Uninstall. I also used CCleaner after uninstalling. All this and I still can't get iTunes to install. If I use the generic version of the Web site, I get the following error:

"A later version of Apple Application Services (64-bit) is already installed."

Of course, it is not installed. It does not appear in the Panel, Total Uninstall, or in the Windows Installer Clean up App, I've seen suggested elsewhere.

OK, while I've read about this version of iTunes for "older video card" that is supposed to work with Windows 64-bit 10. I downloaded that. Uninstalled everything that was there, once again (in order). Restarted. Ran as administrator - but he gets to "starting services" bombs and then restores. It installs AAS, Hello and Apple update. If the internet tells me that there is a problem with Apple Mobile Device Services. I unpacked the installer, tried just to install the amendments and get:

"A later version of the Apple Mobile Device service is already installed"

Alert to despoil: it is not. There is no services with the word "Apple" running at all on the machine. There is no folder in Program Files or Program Files (x 86) under common files.

I'm completely stuck. I have uninstalled/reinstalled the so many things so many times and so many tools, I don't know where to go next. I'm about to use a wipe completely formatted HD and the new installation of Windows, but I bet that iTunes has found a way to bury itself in the diet so that even this will not provide a clean slate.

Any ideas on what I can do given what has already been attempted?

    Thank you!

    Hello

I have tried to update itunes in the past months but maintained an error ' the older version of apple software update cannot be removed. Contact your technical support group"

I tried to uninstall the current version of itunes by following the steps recommended by the experts in the community. I'm stuck when I try to uninstall Apple Software Update for Windows 10 (see second screen captures below)

If someone was faced with a similar question share your solution please

    Thank you!

The iTunes Installer strives systematically each of the existing components of uninstall before installing the new. ASU control panel using programs and features of repair may allow deletion.

It is also possible that Microsoft Installer and uninstaller Fixit program may be able to remove the component. See the note under the second box of troubleshooting problems with iTunes for Windows updates.

If it cannot be removed, then all the other components of Apple can be, and then alternates installed by following the steps in the section install the missing components.
