I can't use the trial...?
I tried Photoshop and Illustrator, but after I clicked "Open" after installing both apps and closed programs, I only had a "Buy now" button and I can't continue to use my trial.
What should I do? I've considered buying both, but, ah... I want to try first. xD

You should definitely be able to convert PDF files to Word using Acrobat format. What happens when you choose file > save as other > Microsoft Word > Word Document?

There is no standard to pro versions of Adobe Reader.
You have downloaded the Acrobat version which is paid instead of Adobe Reader software.
As the trial has expired, then you won't be able to use it unless you have purchased the product.
However, you can download Adobe Reader for free using this link Adobe Acrobat Reader DC install for all versions.
