  I suggest that you try to reset the media library. Note firstly reset the library will make you lose all play counts and ratings too. Then, follow these steps:

  -Restart the PC.
  -Click Start, type services.msc in the search field and press ENTER. In Services, locate the Windows Media Player Network Sharing Service . If its status is started , double-click the service, and then click stop .
  -Click Start, type %LOCALAPPDATA%\Microsoft in the search field and press ENTER. This folder opens in Windows Explorer.
  -In this folder, rename the folder Media Player as Old Media Player . If you do not see the folder, then it is probably hidden. Set Explorer to view the hidden files and folders and show protected system files.
  -Launch WMP, your library will have been reset and will be rebuilt. Check if the problem persists.

The problem is I can't update because 11.2 is the LATEST version of the flash for firefox plugin, there is no other version.

  The directory structure, at least for linux, seems to have changed for version 21. I have my distribution of firefox / opt/firefox /, and so far I keep the plugin flash in/opt/firefox/plugins /. Verse 21, the plugin directory should be/opt/firefox/browser/plugins/EC directory does not exist by default. You can create or mv just the old directory of plugin to the new location

However I installed flash player 12 several times, the installation appears to complete successfully, but reloading page flash player missing again appears. I can play videos from Youtube, because they play automatically using the html5 player. The two 12 Flash activex/plugin appears in the list of programs, but do not appear in the list of modules ff.

  I have tried to reset firefox, recently updated to 27, have also re-installed pluginsreg file as suggested, but nothing helps. Hope you will be able to help

  I always clicked on 'X', the red top right of firefox to close. Lately when I do it, my CPU/RAM usage goes up dramatically and ff never really closed, slowing down my whole computer.
