  Start the LaunchPad and hold the option key. The icons will start to shake and an X will appear in the upper corner of some but not all. Click the X to remove the application. Programs that have an X are only purchased/downloaded from the App Store. Integrated programs in Mac OS (like Safari) or programs you have downloaded/purchased elsewhere will not be a X. You should not delete (or move) programs such as Safari and Mail (built-in programs) because the update from Apple guess they were be on your computer in their installation location. Weird things happen if they are moved or deleted.

  Programs you don't purchase/download from the App Store can be deleted without the help of the dashboard, but you must be careful about this. Third party programs can be installed in different ways: some come in disk images and are trained in your application forms. These can be moved without danger in the trash.   Internet Explorer and explorer.exe are two different things - explorer.exe
  is what is used when opening Windows/computer explore / your user profile
  Such problems can be difficult to nail - but the most common cause is
  probably of malware any.
  You say you have run some scans - what? You must run a full system scan
  with you to update anti-virus and at least a spyware cleaner - MalwareBytes
  Anti-Malware is current best-of-breed.
  Second cause is a problem with the hard drive:-run a CHKDSK
  of right search box and see if it says errors - if it runs then one
  elevated command prompt and run CHKDSK /F (windows will work say that it cannot)
  Run now and ask to start after reboot - answer Yes and restart).
   
  Third is the file system - a high command prompt and the command prompt
  type SFC/scannow - and wait until it is finished, what might be some
  time.
   
  See if that lot helps and post back with the results.

  Two a problem with the new drive.

  1. You get the error message comes from the basic disk with a different size than the disks of the snapshot.
  2. With a size of 256 GB, you will not be able to create snapshots of the disk (on ESXi prior to 5.0 with a block size of 1 MB)

  What you can try to do is to edit the file PJAEast - DL01_1.vmdk :

  • 536870912 VMFS 'PJAEast-DL01_1 - flat hard' RW--> RW 70943040 VMFS 'PJAEast-DL01_1 - flat hard. "
  • DDB. Geometry.Cylinders = "33418'-> ddb.geometry.cylinders = '4416.

  After that, I would recommend to clone the virtual disk to a new one, replace the virtual disk in the virtual machine settings and resize it to a maximum of 254GB (see "calculates the time system required by the snapshot files" at http://kb.vmware.com/kb/1012384)

  I am in the middle of a project in Windows 7 and my VMware (version 3.1.0) will not start upward on my Mac (OS X 10.6.4), I get the error:

  Please run VMware Fusion, then go to the Help menu and choose gather Support information. It will ask your administrator username and password and will collect various logs and information system files to help solve the problem. When the process is complete, it will place a file on your desktop .tgz - please attach to your response.

  This is set on the source instance? You can find it in the ldt file? If so, you can modify the ldt and try the same command again.
