  • IDT HD Audio Codec and the stereo mix Option.

Okay, so, I have this thing, but don't see Stereo Mix. I need to activate this option to record the sound from a video recording program. I tried to download the drivers, but they are not compatible. How this pop up option? I have an Inspiron 1545, by the by.

If you are using Vista, make sure that when you are in the 'Recording' tab, you are "disabled" devices Under the list of pickups, etc., right-click on an empty space and select "Show disconnected devices". Then a source called "Rec. reading" should appear. This IS stereo mix. Right click, activate it, and then you can select it as default device and use other applications, etc.

If you still don't see it, you may be victim of a strange of Dell off the stereo mix on some laptops. Personally, I have a Studio 1537 with IDT and he enabled stereo mix, but Dell it restricted in the past on some computers thanks to the protection of copyright.

Here's an entry forum from a guy who said it fixed "Missing Stereo Mix" on a Sony machine by editing the registry. It has IDT audio drivers

IDT has of a registration for "Rec.Playback" option, which is the same as the stereo mix, so no need of a tool for editing on these models.

Yours is the first post I've seen that reported no stereo on a Realtek driver mix when turned off and disconnected show are checked.

In regard to older drivers you don't have much to choose from on the Dell site. I worry not so much about to try. If you don't like them just re - install the current. (Before installing an old one first remove the current in the control panel > view by category > uninstall a program.)

About the rumor about Dell, I would say that it is more likely a decision made by Realtek if even the direct driver from his site doesn't have stereo mix.

    Hello

With a HP Compaq laptop press you F11 on startup to start the recovery process.

But, like the HP advises, if you install another Vista operating system, the recovery Partition is therefore more able to be used.

    @@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@

There are several methods to reinstall Vista.

There is no Windows Vista downloads available from Microsoft.

You can contact your computer manufacturer and ask them to send you a set of recovery disks.

They should do this for a small fee.

To reinstall Vista using their recovery disk/s, you start from the 1st recovery disk they provide and follow the manufacturer's instructions to reinstall:

You need to change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order:

Some manufacturers have more available Vista recovery disks.

If this happens, you may need to try this instead:

You can also borrow and use a Microsoft Vista DVD, which contains the files for the different editions of Vista (Home Basic, Home Premium, Business and Ultimate) must be installed. The product key on your computer / Laptop box determines what Edition is installed.

Other manufacturers recovery DVDs are should not be used for this purpose.

And you need to know the version of 'bit' for Vista, as 32-bit and 64-bit editions come on different DVDs

The point is that it is a Conexant audio driver problem. This option or parameter is simply not available in the Conexant audio driver and as a result the port of stereo mix is not available and cannot be used.

    Hello

I wonder if someone could help me. I have just purchsed this beautiful laptop toshiba which I'm genrally very satisfied but just one thing, I want to see what is missing and it is a function of stereo mix because I want to play music through my sound card, but I can't find this feature in the registration of parameter which leads me to believe the current driver does not support this feature.

I would like to know if someone has maybe found another driver that supports this feature or any other thanyou workaround for reading.

    Hi sam0056,

To be honest I n don't know what you're talking about...
You want to listen to music on headphones or external speakers? If so, you just connect external speakers. The internal speakers will be cut automatically.

Otherwise new drivers, you can download from the official page of Toshiba.

  • Record stereo mix Inspiron 7559

I've had my Dell Inspiron 7559 since the eve of Christmas 2015 and I touch screen 4K i7 6700HQ 16 GB of Ram GTX 960 M 4 GB VRAM, 128 GB SSD, 1 TB HARD drive and I want to start with the minor problem on some pixels are blurred and the wrong color, I painted a single line shape free white paint on a black background and inspect the pixels close I saw that some pixels are turning green despite being supposed to appear white.

And sometimes automatically screen adapts its lighting according to the color of the pixel range takes more space, for example to resize a window of (dark) steam will affect on the general atmosphere of the screen by slightly changing the color of the other windows, particularly visible with white windows.

My main complaint is the following: I had a lot of trouble with the audio.

I read that there are static pop noises there on many models, I have that too, then I noticed that I couldn't record while headphones/earphones were plugged into the output in January 2016 Jack with stereo mix, I have not tested if I still have the question now, because another problem came made me avoid a recording on your laptop

When recording with stereo mix, even with improvements by maxx audio dell disabled, only the low frequencies are registered, either with Windows recorder or audacity store and I compared the spectra of the record that I did with stereo mix of the laptop 7559 and registration for the 7559 spectrum showed me only the low frequencies being recorded and my other pc , and he could be heard that only low frequencies had been recording, he gave the audio effect deaf when I read the record.

I tried to uninstall the drivers, I do not remember how, but I managed to get it back for some time and I could save with good results until the problem is back for a reason which I am not aware of.

The speakers saturate when there is low frequencies even at low-medium volume, and sometimes bass you hear about with some more complex pieces of audio.

Video with audio recording with Nvidia shadowplay somehow works perfectly fine, despite the static noise pop and the poor quality of stereo mix audio recording

I'm frustrated by the poor quality of the audio related applications, I had related graphics problems causing bsod drivers nvidia in late December and I had someone at Dell guide me through the possible solutions and I was very pleased by the quality of their support to this question, but now I'm afraid that my sound related questions cannot be resolved due to bad quality with drivers control software or devices.

Again, I had indeed managed to restore the good quality recording with stereo mix but somehow after a while and after turning back on the pc as usual he re presented the problem and my recordings would only produce low frequencies.

I'm waiting for answers, and I hope that I am provided with effective solutions, but above all a quality support.

(I also consider ever buy a Dell laptop again)

the guarantee remains valid until December 17th 2016

    Snipeinscientist
... I hope that I am equipped with effective solutions, but above all a quality support.

I think that the best you can hope for is that we will try to help as best we can.

    Snipeinscientist
I read that there are static pop noises there on many models.

Solutions that offered owners are summarized in the FAQ Audio Choppy/jump. There are about 10 of them in the section Inspiron 7559. One owner had replaced "components."

    Snipeinscientist
I tried to uninstall the drivers, I do not remember how, but I managed to get it back for some time and I could save with good results until the problem is back for a reason which I am not aware of.

I could try all the different audio drivers for the i7559 and see if one of them fixes the problem. If we correct it, but the problem returns, one reason for this is that Windows 10 frequently "updates" of the system. [Don't think you mentioned is what operating system on laptop computer].

Before you try the drivers, get rid of all the files of the Realtek driver on the hard drive.

    1. open Device Manager (found in the Control Panel, or type devmgmt.msc in the search box).
    2. expand the section 'Sound, video & game controllers.
    3. right click on "Realtek High Definition" Audio.
    4. click on "Uninstall".
    5. put a check mark in the option to remove the software driver, click ok.
    6. restart the laptop. Because you deleted the Realtek driver files, Windows will install its native audio driver, named "High definition Audio Device".
7 go back to Device Manager and look for "high definition Audio Device". If you see "Realtek High Definition Audio" once again, this means that there is another version of the Realtek driver on your hard drive and Windows found and installed it. So keep uninstall & reboot until Realtek is no longer appears under his... Controllers and "High definition Audio Device" appears in its place.

At this stage, go to the drivers Inspiron 7559 html page and download a driver for your operating system. Realtek audio drivers are available for the following 64-bit operating systems: Win 7, Win 8.1 (WB64A) and Win10 (WT64A). Start with the oldest one for your operating system, the test, then get the next more old ones. If you switch from the former to the most recent you shouldn't have to remove the files from the driver between the facilities.

If none is satisfactory, you can also try one directly from the Realtek site.

    1. go to the Realtek download selection page. http://www.Realtek.com.tw/downloads/
    2. on the page, click on 'High Definition Audio Codecs.
    3. check "I accept", then "next".
    4. (optional) in the column named "Description" find the file named README and download it. Who has the instructions for the installation or update.
    5. in the column named "Description" select your operating system and if it is 32-bit or 64-bit of 2 choices in the list.
    6. in the column named "Download", click one of the server names to download the driver.

    Snipeinscientist
(I also consider ever buy a Dell laptop again)

It's just. I would say that, regardless of the brand or model of computer, test carefully while remaining within the return period and return if unsatisfactory.

  • Can't see stereo mix on Dell Inspiron 7520

    Hello

I know it is a problem that lasts for years and I googled and read a lot of forum posts on this topic but I still can't understand.

I have a new Dell Inspiron 7520 and I want to use the stereo mix function, so I can record audio coming out of my Conexant SmartAudio HD card.

I tried to open the driver and .inf file commenting on these three lines:

    HKR,%EPattributePath%\EpSettings\StereoMixEnable,enable,1,01

    HKR,%EPattributePath%\EpSettings\StereoMixEnable,MixAssocSeq,1,E0,E0

    HKR,%EPattributePath%\EpSettings\StereoMixEnable,MuteGainSettings,1,00,00

I then go back into Device Manager and re - install the driver Conexant by accessing the location of the .inf file that I just edited (by removing the comments of semi-colons). But I get the error message: "Windows found driver software for your device but encountered an error while attempting to install it - Conexant HD Audio - the system cannot find the file specified. '. Just before I noticed it says that the driver is not signed, which could be a problem as I have Win 7 Home Premium 64 bit.

    Any advice greatly appreciated.

    I got it to work!

The solution involves the file the modified driver .inf and re - install this file. Here, I explain what I did in case anyone else has this same problem. This should work for any Windows 7 64 bit computer with the Conexant HD sound card and driver Conexant HD even though I only tested it on my own computer.

    My problem:

New Dell Inspiron 7520, Win 7 Home Premium 64 bit, Conexant SmartAudio HD sound card with the last driver Conexant Web Dell Drivers site. Stereo mix would not appear in Control Panel > Sound > recording even tab after a right-click empty space and selecting display disabled and show disconnected devices.

    Solution:

Make sure that you install the Conexant HD SmartAudio driver. You should see it under the sound, video and game controllers in Device Manager. With the Conexant driver already installed and the key work is to find the exact location of the driver file. It can vary from one computer to another and also be called something else. Mine is called chdrt.inf and it was located in: C:\Windows\System32\DriverStore\FileRepository\chdrt.inf_amd64_neutral_fa34defac299c440

If you don't know where your .inf file, you could do a search for windows for text in files of the string: EpSettings\StereoMixEnable. It will most likely be a file with a .inf extension and located in a subfolder of the System32 folder.

Right-click on the name of the .inf file and select 'Open with' then choose Notepad. Press Ctrl + F and search for StereoMix to find three lines:

    ; HKR,%EPattributePath%\EpSettings\StereoMixEnable,enable,1,01

    ; HKR,%EPattributePath%\EpSettings\StereoMixEnable,MixAssocSeq,1,E0,E0

    ; HKR,%EPattributePath%\EpSettings\StereoMixEnable,MuteGainSettings,1,00,00

Delete the semicolon-->; and save the file. However, Windows doesn't allow you to save the .inf file unless you change the permissions of files. It becomes complicated and a little dangerous!

Basically a right-click on the .inf, then click these buttons/tabs... Properties > Security > advanced > owner. The current owner should be TrustedInstaller. Change this account on your computer that has administrator rights, and you can connect as long as. To do this, click on change and in the "change in ownership to:" field there an entry should be there as: Administrators (name\Administrators of your computer) to select that then Ok and apply and Ok to close the dialog boxes.

Now right-click on the .inf again file: properties > Security > Edit > select "Everyone" in the "Group or user names" > check the corresponding box to 'Write' in the 'Permissions for everyone' section > press Apply and OK your way to close all the dialog boxes. Now you can save the .inf file, you remove the semicolons of!

This step is VERY important. You must change the return of the permissions to the way they were. Right-click on the .inf right and as before changing the write permission by deselecting the checkbox for 'Writing', and then change the property of the .inf file back to TrustedInstaller. This time you'll owner > Edit > other users or groups and type NT service TrustedInstaller in the box and press on check the names, then Ok and apply your way out dialog boxes.

Now finally, re - install the driver: here I had problems with the driver not being recognized and maybe it's because Windows 7 64 bit has said it is not digitally signed so here's what I did: Start Menu > right click on command prompt > run as administrator > type this command and press on... Enter bcdedit/set nointegritychecks WE.

To install the driver: Device Manager > sound, video and game controllers > right click on HD SmartAudio Conexant > update driver software > Browse my computer for driver software > let me pick from a list... > Have Disk > Browse > now, here, you have to find the location of the .inf file that you just edited, in my case, I stuck in the path to the folder and press on enter then select the chrdt.inf file and click OK. When it was installed I went back to the command-line as before and run the command: bcdedit/set nointegritychecks OFF

Now, I rebooted the computer and this time stereo Mix appear in Control Panel > sound > recording after right click tab empty space and selecting display disabled and show disconnected devices.
