My Bee Mozilla automatically updated? How will I know?

You not running version 28 so, you have not updated yet. You can always check the manual updates through help > page on Firefox. It will start to download an update or say "Firefox updated". See screenshot.

You can go ahead and get the last update (29) through the window of Firefox.

  • Stop the automatic updates.

I won't use Firefox 29 or newer to the interface introduced v29 shit it's user friendly and bring some missing thing the v28 (they may be survivals of an older profile), no. Restorer Classic theme does not bring them back.
The above is here simply to try to stop suggestions on the use of v29

I tried to go into the menu options Firefox > Options > advanced > never search for updates, but this does not prevent updates.
I had to uninstall Firefox 29 5 times today, each time after he said to "never check updates."

Not to start a war here, but Mozilla won't return to the entire user interface that they spent 2 years working on. That would be a downgrade to them. Mozilla is all pushing forward. Some users may the hate, but it's that there are other alternatives such as the Restorer of classic theme for people who dislike the design Australis.

There is a way to disable updates by going through the menu Options, but after this, when you go to help > on Firefox, it would update regardless of this setting.
    2 methods here, pick a.
You can set these prefs in about:config to turn off the automatic update:

    App.Update.auto - false

    App.Update.Enabled - false

    App.Update.Silent - false

Or you can use this method to do it for you:
You can create a new file in a text editor (default values are: Notepad of Windows, TextEdit for Mac and Linux text editor) called user.js . When you save user.js, is ensure that it's file type is all FILES like leaving as it's going to add the extension .txt (user.js.txt) and it will not work. Place this file in your profile folder. See link below to find out how to access the file

After you create the folder, simply add the following to your user.js file, save and close, restart Firefox

    // turn off application updates:
    user_pref("app.update.enabled", false);

  • Is this ok to activate the automatic updates now?

Hey guys I have the same q... is it OK to turn on the automatic updates now... I had the same prob - stage restart loop 3... I fixed it by using method 4 then I installed Microsoft fixit files... how ever it has updated to sp2 now... I can turn on the updates, and install them?

    Hi ganganatha,.

Looking for your other post I see that you have run the fixit reset Windows Update. It's yours if you want to enable automatic updates or not. However, so that Windows install important updates as they are available, it is recommended to activate the automatic update. With an automatic update, you don't have to search for updates online or worry that critical fixes for Windows might be missing from your computer. Windows automatically checks for updates for your computer.

In addition, given that the issue is resolved, you can turn on it.

Here are answers to some common questions about updating Windows automatically.

    Understand the automatic Windows Update

There are other ways in which Windows inform you about updates. You can set according to your convenience.

  • KB955759 does not appear when I check the updates manually, but it appears with the yellow shield after you have enabled the automatic updates.

original title: Windows Update acts confused - kb955759 does not appear when I check the updates manually, but it appears with the yellow shield after you have enabled the automatic updates.

I just reset my CMOS settings, writing zeros for my hard drive, repartitioned, reformatted and used the recovery cd Gateway system to get my computer to Windows 98se - factory settings, except at the beginning of the recovery of the system, when it says "press any key for advanced options," I pressed a key and then I unchecked all the default (3rd party) applications including Norton and left only 2 checked: "Updated USB Hub" and "Windows Shutdown Supplement," while nothing has been installed, leaving only win98.

Then I used my disc XP Home (SP2) update.  I, immediately after the upgrade to Windows XP, installed "Office XP with Frontpage, Developer Edition", then Norton 2012 before never connect to the internet.
Then, I connected to the internet and continuously update of Norton, before ever hitting the Windows Update page. The first thing I did then was to activate Windows, and then activate the office.
Then I hit the update of Windows "button" that says "get all your updates in one place... upgraded"Microsoft Update".  I, then, just kept hitting the page update and restart, until I find the SP3.  Then, I took a break, until the next day.

I have an ADSL broadband, with a Linksys EtherFast PCI card.

Then I got SP3, which installed without any problems.
So I just kept "microsoft continuous update" manually (and reboot), until there is no more updates - EXCEPT, I always uncheck Windows Malicious Software Removal Tool - which was the only screening at the final stop for the night.  I think that I ticked the box "don't ask me about this update".

Then, in the morning, after you have enabled automatic updates, I noticed the yellow shield - Windows security icon (or whatever it's called), so I clicked on it and checked it was tellimg me was available [when I checked "Custom Install (advanced users)"].  What showed was 1 update - 955759 KB.

After the problem, already at the reformat (months and months), see the yellow shield telling me there are updates available, which were already installed (before rebooting), I checked manually on the internet with IE 8, pressing alt, "T", "U".  There is no updated list.  Then I checked through my history of update (twice), and KB955759 had not been installed.

My update setting is to let windows download ('important') updates, but let me choose when to install them.

What is the right - Windows Update (NO update important reporting) Site, or the yellow shield (reports [a] kb955759 [update])?

I can not yet confirm he is supposed to be an update for XP home kb955759, because I was unable to locate any detailed documentation on this 'thing' that protect the yellow safety seems to think is a significant update.

Just for the heck of it, I have disabled the automatic updates, cleared my browser cache, checked manually, updates from microsoft (windows) and found none (with the exception of software malware removal tool windows [which I have not installed]).  Then, I turned the automatic updates on, and without even being connected to the internet, the yellow shield popped up with the kb955759 "update"...

    Repost...

    1. If you open Internet Explore (only!) to http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com and run a CUSTOM scan, KB955759 appears in results?... If so, you manage to install it and/or security updates available?

2 after no. 1 above [<>], is the 'yellow shield' icon appears in the Notification area (on the left of your clock)?  .. and if yes, by clicking on the 'yellow shield' icon tells you that KB955759 or any other updates is ready-to-be-installed?  .. .and if so, you manage to install it?

3 after doing 1 # & #2 above [<>], is KB955759 or any other updates offered as a ready-to-install update when you go off your computer?  .. .and if so, you manage to install it?

... I guess that clearing the browser cache does not erase 'downloaded' updates.

Nope. If you want to clear the queue of the update...

    OPTION A:

    1. stop the automatic updates service:

    Start > run > (type or copy/paste) services.msc > click OK

2 remove the contents of the download folder:

    Start > run > (type or copy/paste) %windir%\SoftwareDistribution > click OK

Open the download folder and delete its content
    Close the window.

    3. start the automatic updates service:

    Start > run > (type or copy/paste) services.msc > click OK
Double-click automatic updates > click Start
(Starting the service will take a moment)

    OPTION B:

    1. open Internet Explorer (only!) to http://support.microsoft.com/kb/910336 [don't know the titles, etc..]

Then, the next time I turned on my computer it says error 0 x 643,.

Then error hpqthb08. exe, NET framework, and then application

I decided to uninstall some things in my add/remove program and then run the automatic updates again and he said that I got none, none.  I was surprised and very confused,

AND now, by turning on my computer it says error oxc0150002.

I wasn't able to get automatic updates to download a microsoft windows update.  The fix for microsoft in default mode indicated that he needed to be repaired and that fixed it.  When windows update was used again the update has failed once again.  The fix even that it was then run in aggressive mode and with a recheck has failed to correct the problem.  At each restart, automatic updates took the time to start producing a yellow shield and then pop-up reminders.  So thank you to help us with these questions to disable the automatic updates of windows.

  • After the automatic updates of Windows8 all my files disappeared

After that the automatic update performed by Windows8 about two weeks ago, that all my files were deleted, all system settings and favorites are gone. The image of the Office was changed, as well as the background was changed from green to blue. Well, I managed to find my files in a file system, it back office. However, today, I just restarted my computer and the parameters are all back as they were 2 weeks ago but all my files are gone for good. There were about 200GB, now my drive C/watch 390 GB free on 440 Go, so my all files have been deleted. No search engine can find them. They are all gone. I had saved in this project, I worked on during 2 months and have no idea what I'm supposed to do now. How Windows can delete something I never heard it? Hi Jenny,

To provide the proper resolution, I would need more information on your side.

    1. do you receive any error messages? If Yes, what is the exact error message?

    2. What is the item number knowledge base of the installed Windows Update recently?

    Method 1:
If files are missing from the library, I suggest you try the following steps.

    (a) go to the libraries in Windows Explorer.

(b)with the right button no matter what folder gives you an error.

    (c)delete the folder.

(d)with the right button on the "libraries" folder

    (e), select "restore default libraries".

The folder you just deleted will now be back and fully functional with all your documents safe and sound.

    Method 2:
If the problem persists, I suggest you to virus scanner to make sure that the computer is virus-free.

The Microsoft Security Scanner is a downloadable security tool for free which allows analysis at the application and helps remove viruses, spyware and other malware. It works with your current antivirus software.

  • How to stop the automatic update to 8.0 (1?)

    Related to: installation of updates

For awhile, I had received alerts asking when I tried installing 8.0 (or 8.1... I don't remember).  A drop down menu allowed me to select "Remind Me later".  It has happened from time to time, but was simply a minor inconvenience.  HOWEVER, recently these alerts is no longer offer me the option "Remind Me later".  My choices are 'Now,' 'One hour', 'Two Hours', etc.   The first time it appeared, I was intrigued by the absence of the previous option, but could not get control of my computer back until I got something.  So, I took 4 hours, expecting to be invited again.  Stupid thing embarks on an update in 4 hours while I was working.  I couldn't stop, so I stop it manually to my computer.  He then had to go a process to restore my previous version.

How can I stop these propagandist automated facilities?  Not to be dramatic, but it feels a bit like my computer has a stalker!  It happened twice this morning, and I can just turn off my computer manually to stop the "recovery."  It's not ideal.

I don't want window 8 (8.1?).  I've heard horrible things can happen.  I'm not a programmer, nor a hardware expert, so this is beyond my knowledge.  Anyone know how I can turn off, turn off, whatever, the automatic update unwelcome and unwanted?  Help me please!   «.. . for Dummies"level instructions please.  :-D
