I hate where the window tabs are above the address bar in FF 8. Move back on top the windows themselves?

My old FF had the tabs on top of the windows windows. It's embarrassing to me where they are in 8 above the address bar. Having the tabs on top of the windows is editable?

Hello

Right click on an empty space near the location bar and uncheck 'tabs at top".

    Hello Ron.

Those who are called accidents or CTDs (clear for desktop). There are several possible causes for this:

    1. defective extensions: start Firefox in safe mode to disable all extensions and see if the problems percist. If they are not, try to disable your extensions, one at a time, to see that it is that you difficulties.
    2. defective plugins: disable all plugins that you don't need. The normal user only get a PDF, a plugin, Java, Shockwave and Flash plugin.
    3. the anti-virus settings or firewall: in theory, it is possible that some antivirus or firewall are set in a way that Firefox crash in certain circumstances. NOT browse the web without an antivirus and firewall running and up to date, but make sure they are set to not impede the use of Firefox.
  • move tabs in the address bar

  • How can I put my tabs below my address bar after this last update?

(edited for language. Read them guidelines and rules of the Forum -m)

I've always had my tabs below my address bar, and I find it incredibly annoying and ineffective to have above my address bar, as well as over my bookmarks bar.

Before this update I could fix this terribly designed annoyance by laboriously going in: config and setting browser.tabs.onTop to false instead of to say the opportunity to change this in the settings. It was not very obvious for someone who likes the OPTIONS rather than being forced to comply with new design bad decisions, but at least it worked.

With this latest update however, enter: config and while not affecting false browser.tabs.onTop no more miracle now mucked tabs tool bar on top of the rather than below the address bar.

Y at - it another way to change cela, or am I stuck with this?

You can install either of the following Add-ons.

If you don't want to install an add-on, you can put a style sheet in the userChrome.css file.

  • Since I have no address bar, I can't type config in the address bar to activate the address bar.

New laptop. Downloaded Firefox and could not activate the address bar doesn't so no back arrows or hometown icon or research, etc.
Please do not suggest that I access the controls in the address bar. I do not have an address bar to access anything whatsoever.
I don't want to customize the address bar. I just want to be able to see and use the controls in each illustration to the getting started and help watch are here, as they were on my old laptop.

First of all, make sure that you are not in the mode "full screen" of Firefox. The F11 key toggles between the normal modes and full screen.

Second, you can activate the individual toolbars on and outside using either:

    • Right click on an empty area of the tab bar
    • Click the "+" button on the tab bar
    • Press the Alt key > menu view > toolbars

The address box is on the Navigation toolbar.

If the Navigation bar is displayed but the address box is missing, your bars may be damaged. You can use the 'Restore Default Set' button in the Customize dialog box to restore. Customize Firefox commands, buttons, and toolbars.

    A little luck?

  • When I open Firefox now goes out of the screen as it does with the website in the address bar, I'm going to.

In order to enter anything in the address bar, I need to move the cursor to the top edge of the screen in Firefox and the site chosen.

    Try to hit F11.

It is a toggle that maximizes the window beyond 'normal' maximize and gives you the most possible real estate for navigation, with less waste on the edges and buttons.

It might be the bad form to mention here, but other browsers use the same key for this.

  • How the 4.01 version to have the TABS line nearby even as in 3.67. ?. In other words, the line of TABS just above window web site at 3.67. Right, in 4.01, is now in the top line of the screen.

Basically, need a feature that allows the user to rearrange the location of tab line (ie: the ability to drag the line to a different location). For me, it would be moved from the line Summit of 4.01 on line facing down(as the place where it sits in versions of X 3.6), just above the window of the web page. That would make it very convenient to click on multiple back when necessary. What I constantly in my case.

I thank you for your public service and a great work all you do!

You can right click on the orange Firefox button to open the menu of the toolbar.

    • Click "Tabs at the top" to remove the check mark and place the tab to its original position bar just above the browser window.
  • Tabs are not in the title bar even when the window is maximized Windows

If I'm right, given that shponkah 4 b 9 FFX must be in the title bar when the ffx window is maximized on Windows operating system. [https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=572160]
    I'm on XP Pro
It works fine on the minefield for me.
But in FFX 4 b 9 and 4b 10... tabs are always under the Firefox logo...

Did you set up using the (bar of tabs above) option "Tabs at the top". Right-click on a toolbar to display the list of toolbars and make sure "Tabs at the top" is selected.

  • How can I make the area above the smaller tabs

From the top of the screen (blue zone) to the bottom of the tabs, there are a lot of real estate that is empty,

    AVG - yahoo and search
How can I move the button free hotmail or the same bottom line and get more space display of a web page?

If all the toolbar support this option, you can only merge content from the toolbar on a toolbar. Most toolbars do not have this possibility because it requires additional coding. If it is possible, then you will find in the options of an extensions (Tools > Modules > Extensions).

  • How can I completely disable tabs because tabs are is no longer being on the bottom of the surface of the screen. tabs are used not long ago and will not be used.

Because you removed the possibility of lowering the tabs at the bottom of the upper part where they used to be that the tabs are no longer useful and takes place how to remove completely because they now take just a space of the screen. It takes just as much time to click Open Windows in the taskbar, as it does to use the tabs at the top of the screen so now I'll settle for all open in a new window and remove the wedges. I won't use an add on for this.

Of course, I have read your message and displayed an additional option if the modules were not suitable for you.

If you don't want to install an add-on, put the style in the userChrome.css file and restart Firefox. You can use the stylish add-on instead, if you have installed.

  • My husband hates version 4 so what are my options when the support went to the old version?

My husband hates the new tabs in version 4 and had me reload the old version. What are my options for using Firefox, after that support is gone? I don't want to use Internet Explorer. Someone at - it an alternative?

"My husband hates the new tabs in version 4...".

Don't like the "tabs on top"? You can change this to display the tabs below the toolbars, for example, one of the following:

    • Using the Firefox button: click on the Firefox button > Options, click on "Tabs at the top" to remove the check mark (checked = on, unchecked = off)
    • Using the Menu bar: click on view > toolbars, click "Tabs at the top" to remove the check mark
    • Hold DOWN the ALT key while pressing keyboard letters ATV (removes / places the checkbox for "Tabs at the top" without having to open a dialog box)

"What are my options for using Firefox, after support is gone?"

Firefox 3.6 is likely to be supported for some time. In general, supported by Mozilla continues for 6 months after the introduction of a new version, but Firefox 3.5 is still supported beyond this 'General' rule of 6 months.

NOTE: There are other changes that can be made to Firefox 4 to make it look and behave more like Firefox 3.6. See:

You need to update the following:

    • Shockwave Flash 10.2 r152

      1. Check your plugin versions on one of the following links:
    1. Update the Flash plugin to the latest version.
      • Download and SAVE to your desktop, so you can find the Setup program later
      • If you do not have the current version, click on the "Player Download Center" link on the 'download and information' or 'Download manual installers' below
      • Once the download is complete, exit Firefox
      • Click on the installer, you just download and install
        • Windows 7 and Vista: will need to right click on the installer and choose 'run as administrator '.
      • Launch Firefox and recheck your version or up to the download link below to test the installation
      • Download and information: http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/
        • Use Firefox to go to the site above to update the Firefox plugin (will also install the plugin for most other browsers, except IE)
        • Use IE to go to the site above to update the ActiveX to IE
      • Download manual installers.

Some Images open in a new window or tab are backwards or rotates 90 degrees, but they appear in the correct position when you use Internet EXPLORER.

I don't even know if it's a browser or a browser-server interaction problem. The problem manifests a certain user forums where members post jpg images that appear as thumbnails. "I can right-click and select"Open in new window"or open in a new tab. Either way some images open OK, some open pivot 90 degrees out of position sometimes upside down. If I use Internet EXPLORE the same images will open on the right side.

Not in bold. Looks like this:
    Layout.CSS.image - orientation.enabled; true
    Status: default
    Boolean type

Laughing out loud! But if I double-click on it replaces:
    Layout.CSS.image - orientation.enabled; false
    Set of users of status
    Boolean type

Now when I right-click the image and select either "open in new tab" or "open in new window" the image is right-side up!

    Thanks to you all!

  • All my tabs are missing! Rename and copy/paste the files did not help

I accidentally opened two windows of Firefox and closed one with all my tabs pinned first, then the second tab. After Firefox reload all my tabs are missing and I tried to rename files, copy and paste files, etc. as suggests these forums, but nothing has worked. I have myself screwed on?

Check first the Menu history for any tab restore options.
    In the second place.
If you have already restarted Firefox and have a copy of the files: close Firefox

    1. Open the profile folder profiles - where Firefox stores your bookmarks, passwords and other user data
    2. Save the previous.js recovery.bak and recovery.js under another name
    3. Place the recovery files in the profile folder.

So that this does not happen again change your tab Preferences and settings or try Session Manager add and save your profile.
